Are you going to pick that up?" Aaron asks, as he sits inclined on the bed, watching me get ready to go out with my friends.

Today is one of my colleague's birthday, so i have been invited to a late birthday dinner.

"Yes...It just dropped." i chuckle, picking it up and remembering how he likes to keep his environment neat and tidy.

"Ok, i'm gonna go now." I say, coming to stand in front of the screen of my laptop, where we are video calling from like we did last night on his second night away.

"Do you really have to go out?" he asks.

"Yes...now can i go, the girls are waiting for me." i say, sitting down to allow more of myself to appear in the screen.

"Call me as soon as you get back." He says.

There is no time difference between our two locations.

"It's probably going to be pretty late...i'll call you in the morning." I say.

"Call me tonight!"

"Ok..fine..can i go now?" I mumble impatiently.

"Hey, what's taking you so long, let's go." Tessa Murmurs, walking into the room.

"Aaron, i'm going to cut you off" i warn him, i have been lingering in the room for a few minutes now, even though i'm done.

"Is that Dawn?" he asks curiously, hearing someone else speak.

Dawn crushed our video call last night when she came by, and ended up having a lengthy funny conversation with him as i watched.

"It's Tessa...bye."

"Don't you dare, we are not done here." he mutters in jest, and i'm not sure why i'm even indulging him.

He smiles and sits up when he sees me frown.

"Bye baby, don't kiss any strangers tonight, and call me when you get back." he says with a wink.

My cheeks warm up.

I like when he calls me 'baby'

It catches me off guard every time it happens, even though right now, it will be the third time he has said it.

"Ok." I say.

We look at each other for a few seconds without saying anything, then we both smile.

I glance up at Tessa who is smiling widely at me.

"Bye." i repeat to Aaron, and cut the connection.

"Don't say anything." i mutter, grabbing my coat and walking out of the room ahead of her.

I'm tired of everyone telling me how i'm falling in love with him.

The next day, I push my locker door closed, and turn around, in readiness to start walking out of the staff locker room so that i can begin my shift for today.
