After spending about four hours of the morning in surgery, i join some colleagues of mine, who like me, are having a late lunch due to work at a special spot outside the hospital cafeteria where us residents and interns like to hide.

After spending a few minutes there, someone looks at their lunch and stands up abruptly.

"Oh shoot! gotta go." they say, quickly dashing back inside the main wing.

"Wait, what time is it?" i ask.

"3:30pm" someone else says.

"Oh gosh, i got to go too." i mutter, taking one last sip of my fruit juice, and walking away.

After my conversation with Aaron this morning, i called the number he sent to me, and the female doctor i spoke with said i could pass through any time this afternoon, so i told her 3:30, knowing i would be done with the surgery by then.

I figured, the sooner i get this birth control thing over with, the better.

I go across the hospital, and up to the OB-GYN department and go specifically to the office she directed me to come to.

Shala works up here alot, since her chosen concentration is in gynecology, but i didn't let her know i was coming here.

"I look at my watch again, and see that it's 3:46....i'm sixteen minutes late.

I walk towards the waiting area and see the name of the doctors on call.

I know, i'm only seven months old at this hospital, but the fact that I don't recognize her name is a testament to how huge this hospital is, even though it's a private hospital.

I step towards the door and try to push it open, my eyes on the phone i picked up after surgery, but it swings back my way as someone else pushes it back, but i'm lucky enough to not get bumped by it, although i drop my water bottle and phone on the floor.

They stop and hold the door open, as i squat down to pick up my stuff.

"Sorry" they say, apologetically, still standing inside the waiting area.

"It's alright, i'm fine." i reply, looking up.

Still at my level on the ground, i make eye contact with a little toddler, no older than a year and a half, maybe.

"Aww, Hai there" i say softly to her with a smile.

She is dressed in a beautiful pink dress and bow on her head, her tiny hand holding on to who i presume is her mother's hand, and she retreats from me and hides behind her mother's leg.

"Aaww, it's ok, I won't hurt ya" i say, standing up.

"She is not used to being around people...." The mother says.

I smile.

"That's alright.....so do i sometimes." I say and the mother laughs.

"She's so cute." I tell her.
