After so much thinking, I end up sleeping late and wake up to find myself alone in bed.

Looking at the time, it's still quite early in the morning, so I know Raquel should still be around here somewhere.

I get downstairs a few minutes later, and find her in the kitchen.

Clearly, breakfast is the most important meal for her...because she usually makes time to do it properly.

I sit down on her kitchen table, and rest my elbows on the top, as I run my fingers through my hair.

"Good morning." She murmurs, coming up behind me, and kissing the back of my head.

"Morning...how are you feeling?" I ask her.

"Good...Ok" she says, walking back to the stove.

I watch her standing there and rest lazily in my chair.

"Oh, so, Dad called pretty early today, pretty much woke me up, and he asked me to come home tonight, if I can...he said he wants to talk, and then said that he misses me at the end." she utters gleefully, turning around to face me.

"That's nice."

"Yeah..and then Mom grabbed the phone and told me to remind you about dinner at the Manor tomorrow night." she adds.

"Oh yeah." I say, scratching the back of my head.

"Am I also invited, or it's a private arrangement going on?" She utters.

"Ofcourse you are invited, I just forgot to tell you about it last night." I say seriously.

"I was just joking babe, I know I am invited."

"Right."

She turns around to tend to the food again.

I'm tense, and it's showing.

I need to talk to her, but I already feel defeated.

She comes around and puts a plate of toast and scrambled eggs in front of me, and some coffee.

I look at the food, a little lost for appetite.

"Thanks babe." I say, squeezing her hand.

"Anytime." She responds with a smile.

She sits down opposite to me, with her own plate.

"Do you want to talk now, or after we eat?"

"Am I that obvious?" I ask and she nods.

"It makes me sad when you seem sad." she says, her face looking solemn.

I sigh.

"Come here." I murmur, stretching my hand towards her.

She comes round the table and sits on my lap.

I bury my face against her chest and inhale deeply and then feel her fingers running through my hair.

"What's wrong?" she asks softly.

"I need to talk to you about something." I say.

"Ok."

"You're making me nervous, you know you can tell me anything, right?" she says, pulling my head back, so that our eyes meet.

I clear my throat.

"Yeah."

"It's about...what my grandmother said..."

"Ok?"

"Remember when she talked about grandkids....I just......a thought crossed my mind." I say.

To be honest, it's not a new thought, just one I buried, out of convenience a long time along...but now it's back to haunt me.
