I rest my elbow on the windowpane of the passenger's side of Chase's red jeep Wrangler. The car has got giant wheels and shiny catchy rims.... such an attention seeker.

I spread my fingers out so that the wind can blow through them and close my eyes.

It's been a long day, and the end of an even longer week, but atleast, it's the start of what looks to be an exciting weekend of celebrations.

I was with Raquel earlier today when we met at a doctor's appointment. It wasn't one of our usual weekly scheduled appointments, but Raquel was worried because she had not felt the baby's movements in a long time and was concerned it could be a sign that something was wrong.

I walked out of a meeting to meet her there and found both our moms already there with her, never wanting to miss any of Raquel's checkups.

What was initially an unsettling moment soon turned into a happy occasion when the room filled up with the sound of the baby's heartbeat and Patricia assured us that everything was ok.

Raquel smiled as I squeezed her hand.

'Oh my....is that a foot...?' Cynthia points out, looking excitedly at the screen.

'Definitely a foot...and that there is a hand.' Patricia chuckles in affirmation.

"Ohh, definitely a Bishop descendant, all you boys have the same hands and feet." Mom murmurs in her own excitement.

'Oh wait, it's a boy..it has to be a boy.' she says, almost as if in realization.

'It's a boy, right?' She looks to Patricia for confirmation.

'Oh, just tell us already..I think it's a girl from the shape of her belly. I was just like this with all of you girls.' Cynthia says in her own prediction.

'You know what, at this point I want to know too.' Raquel utters, pulling at my fingers as she looks up at me from her position on the consultation table.
