I walk up to Aaron while he is fully engaged in a deep conversation with Jeff and my sisters and stand next to him.
"Hello" I say, wrapping my fingers around his upper arm, while his hands are buried deep in the front pockets of his dark brown chinos, paired with a dark blue button up shirt and casual jacket.
"Hai." He responds, taking his hands out of his pocket.
He turns towards me fully, so that we are able to hug, then he kisses me on the cheek close to my neck, his lips and breath causing light tingles on the skin on my neck, before he pulls back.
"Hey" I say again, smiling at his action.
I was a little nervous about how we will get through the night, especially that we haven't had a moment alone to talk after last night, but seeing his kind eyes, I start to relax.
"You look lovely?" He says softly, looking down at me.
"Yeah? Thank you?" I whisper.
I have on a long cream white dress, with buttons all the way infront, a brown belt that coincidentally matches his pants, and my hair is pulled up in a ponytail, just like I had at work.
"You're welcome." he replies, adjusting my hair nicely so that it rests down on my back instead of my shoulder.
I don't know what to do with myself, so I just put both hands around his arm while I stand next to him.
I find that I missed his presence so much and I take a deep breathe, inhaling his scent, and he notices me to it.
His eyes linger on me, causing a light blush to appear on my face.
"What?" I whisper, but he shakes his head and looks away.
There is no need for introductions since everyone already knows each other, so we all stay in the family room, making small talk, while we wait for dinner to be served.
Aaron waits for me to sit first, then sits down next to me, immediately putting his hand on my knee over the long ankle length dress, while he sits with his own legs crossed at the knee.
I was abit apprehensive about tonight's point of discussion, but clearly, I had nothing to worry about, because Aaron seems very much at ease and equal to the task. Occasionally, he would talk with his hands, but always puts it back on my leg afterwards.
I kind of like him being proprietorial, something that comes naturally to him because when we were with his family at the ranch, he was a lot more publicly affectionate than this, but my family have never seen me with anyone else apart from Vincent, so I guess this must be quite strange for them and will take a little getting used to, I guess.
