Destruction of the Innocent (Anakin Skywalker)

First Time For Everything

      We piled into the elevator and zipped up to the sky-deck, where the Chanceller was being held according to R2.

Anakin had ordered him to stay in the hanger and help us with the elevators.

After we all took out a team of waiting droids inside, we step around their bodies and all take one corner of the elevator as we waited for the doors to open. Completely unaware of what was waiting on the other side.

I rolled my neck around and rubbed it, turning into the reflection of the elevator. I hardly recognized myself. I was matted in sweat, soot, ash, blood-everything you could think of.

Reaching down, I pull my shirt up and start wiping black away from my eyes.

"Your Highness?", Obi-Wan says, offering his cloak but I shake my head.

"That's alright", I say, wiping my hidden tears away on my pants.

I understand why my Father does'nt want me involved in the Jedi Council or this war, but had the kidnapping not happened, I would'n't even be here right now.

          I push my thoughts away and release a deep breath as I stand straight again.

Pulling the gun out Rex provided me with, I pulled the clip and aimed up, looking through the barrel. Obi-Wan is the first to turn to me.

"You look tired, your Highness", he says. I turn to him as I put the clip back in and cock it, nodding back.

"I am", I simply agreed, putting the gun in the back of my pants again.

"Why don't you take a speeder back to the ship then? I'm sure your Mother is worried about you ?", he asked.




     I pull my shirt back down with a sigh.

"My Mother has no worry for me, Obi-Wan", I shook my head." She is just as powerful as I."

In the corner next to him, Anakin looks over.

"I sense Count Dooku", he threw out there. I raise an eyebrow and turn to Echo. He was messing with the transmitter on his wrist.

"Everyone call in?", I ask.

"Everyone made it back as far as I know.  A laser must of hit this thing from one of those droids because now I can't even turn it back on", he complains. He tsk's and smacks it, shaking his head.

     I reach over and put my hand on his arm with the transmitter. It crackles to life and I see that all 6 pilots have checked in except for Echo and I.

"Everything is fine", I sigh, letting his arm go. The second I do, the holograph of my team crackles back out into nothing. The room is silent as they all stare at me in shock.

"What?", I shrugged, leaning against the wall. Echo raised his eyebrows and shook his head rapidly.

      My gaze shifts around to them, before it catches Anakin's in the reflection of the elevator wall. His eyebrows were furrowed like he was intrigued.






            Just then, the elevator lights glitch out and slams us all to the floor in the dark.

I sit up trying to find them all.
"You guys push a stop button?", I asked.
"No. Did you?"
"No."
"Uh-uh."
My eyes snap towards the doors as they whoosh open to reveal two droidicas getting into position to fire at us.

"Ohhh,sHIT!!", I hiss and push myself against the wall.

Immediately, my saber ignites making the only light in here a purple glow. Obi-Wan and Anakin follow as we deflect the first of the blasts,  Echo takes a knee with his blaster in hand.

"Get this thing working again!!", Obi-Wan yelled over the fight. I reach for my gun and fire out the door. I fire a few more shots before ducking behind the wall of the elevator in time to miss one going for my head.


            Looking over the buttons, there wasn't one I could find that would guarantee our safety. "How!?"

Anakin rushed out of the elevator and attacked on of the droidicas, busting it to nothing as the other two continued on. He jumped back in and pressed his back to the wall.
