Destruction of the Innocent (Anakin Skywalker)

~Burn Out~

   Rocks being hurled at my head fly past me  as I run into the main room.  Everyone's attention is drawn to the entrance-the smiles melt off of their faces.

I grit my teeth and finally turn to him, slicing a rock in half at the last second. Walking backwards, I keep my weapon pointed at him.

"Maul",Yoda addresses him. The man's eyes flick toward him.

"Your still living?", he spits back.

"Dead, we believed you to be", Yoda says.

"I am still very much alive", he hisses.

"You know this creep?', I ask, not looking away from him.

"Lord Sidious sends his best", Maul smirks, the rage in his eyes returning as he looks back to me. Then without warning he lunges at me.

          I block and pin his lightsaber to a rock then push him back. He slides across the floor before standing back up and marching towards me again.

"Get the kids on the ship, now!", I say over my shoulder.

"Leave you, I will not ", Yoda shakes his head.

I turn of my shoulder to Ahsoka and nod towards the door.

She hesitates for a moment, but turns on her heel and leads the kids back to the ship. Maul throws his weapon like a boomerang, but I tuck and rolls in time to dodge it. I push myself up to crouch and whip the wet hair out of my eyes as he runs at me.

 I throw my saber above me to block, the electricity crackles through our swords.

"Go! I can handle it!", I yell to him over my shoulder. When he returns with a backward swing I duck before meeting it again and again.

 I grit my teeth to hold the angle and kick his knee which he falls onto it. He grits his teeth in pain while I jump up and swing for his neck. 

But holding the staff above his head, he blocks my hit. When he swings with the other side, I jump to avoid it colliding with my legs and kick him in the chest.

He flies back and I spin my saber once around me, ready for the next collision.

All of a sudden the cave around us begins to shake and ruble. Chunks of ice fall from the ceiling and crash down around us.

"Nova!", Ahsoka yells from the ship. 

       I turn to her as she looks behind her towards the sun. It was setting, and the cave doors are about to go back up.

When I go to look at Maul, his eyes snap towards me again and I glare.

"Shit!", I hissed. 

 I turn on my heel and leap over the meditation rock in the center of the room then begin hauling ass for the door.

 Jumping and swerving out of the way of stalactites that rained down from the ceiling. The rumbling becomes too much to the point I was getting dizzy and disoriented.  I collided my lightsaber to cut through a shard before it pierced me.

Behind me, I hear him yell as he runs after me. I turn just in time to connect my saber with his. Sparks shoot out across the floor and I shove him back before running again. He follows me, swinging his staff around in desperation. One end clipped the back of my calf.

I scream out and throw my saber behind my head to block as he strikes, jump over a rock. A giant chunk falls in front of me. Still holding the form, I hold my hand out to levitate it then throw it behind me and into him. It hits him as planned and he grunts in pain as I make it to the door.

As soon as I'm around the corner of the entrance, I slam my back to the wall. There is little light left as it stretches across the land before me.

"Princess, hurry! We don't have time!", Yoda yells from the transport ship. The kids watch in fear from the ramp.

My eyebrows furrow as I swallow hard, my lungs burned.

  Through the blinding snow, I see him run out of the door to the cave. I grab the back of his robes and swing him into the cave wall as hard as I could. He's so stunned he drops his lightsaber and it switches off.

He stumbles back and I deliver a solid kick to his sternum,  he hits the wall again. When he hunches over and spits up blood, I strike him across the face then turn.

 With every ounce of strength in me, I grab his right arm and flip him over me. He hits the ground so hard the ice underneath him cracks in several different directions for several feet.

Through the flurry, I spot his saber on the ground. I raise my hand and it hovers before me, then I throw it as hard as I could into hills the below us-right as the doors to the cave glide shut. The land around us is dark now.

"No!", he yells. The ships engine roars to life behind me.

    "Nova!", Ahsoka yells from the ramp, holding her hand out to me.

I push myself up and begin running up a slab of ice. As soon as I'm close enough, I jump for the ramp and barely grasp it with my fingertips. But I pull myself up and swing my legs over, grabbing Ashoka's hand to stand.

"Keep running, Princess! You won't have long!", Maul yells below us. I glare back down at him.

"Well be seeing you soon enough."

I taste metal in my mouth as his voice echos around my head.

The ramp closes as we begin to move in hyper speed. I turn away from the door and release a breath I did'nt know I was holding, dropping to my knees.

All that surrounded me was darkness.
