It all happened so quick. I was going so fast and then all of a sudden, I was just spinning. And spinning, and spinning, and spinning.
It was like driving a forklift and rolling over a zip-tie. You just can't do it.
I came to, and my eyes were closed but I could feel myself still spinning. I was afraid of what I'd see if I opened them.
But I do, blinking hard at the blur around me, trying to take everything in.
I couldn't hear anything but the sound of my breathing and my heartbeat in my ears. It hurt to breath on my left side, but I sucked in a breath of air and almost choked on it.
All I could hear was high pitched ringing, the kind they say you hear after you hit your head really, really hard.
The ship's spin started to slow, and I grunted in pain as I sit up to pull my headset off. It fell to the floor and my hands went to my head which was just pounding.
Nothing felt broken, but my left side burned like hell.
The ringing starts to fade as voices overlap on my headset, repeatedly screaming my name.
Surprisingly, my ship is still in working condition. I still had all electronics and engine operation as far as I knew. My windows were practically shattered, and it was mere hope holding them in, I think.
There was a little spot though where I could still see through, and I saw through towards General Grevious's ship.
I grit my teeth in rage, reaching for my steering wheel to stop the spinning of my ship. It took me a couple of tries to grab it, but I did and stopped it.
When my other hand left my head to reach down for my headset, I saw it was full of blood.
"Shit!", I hiss to myself.
"Commander Godfrey!", Obi Wan yelled. "I-Commander!
"Commander, can you hear us? Please respond!"
"Commander?!"
I groan in pain but kick my headset up to my lap and push it to my ear.
"I'm going after her!"
"No-"
"This is Commander Godfrey", I breath out." I'm here."
They all exploded at once and I groan again, throwing the headset down. I click a button on my consul, and it switches to the cabin speaker.
"One at a time, ok? I just got my shit rocked", I furrowed my brow, holding my head in my hands.
"Commander Godfrey, are you hurt?", Obi Wan asked.
"No", I lied, pulling my hands from my head again to access myself. "Where are you?"
"In front of Grevious's ship. Where are you?", Obi Wan said.
I turned my engines on again and they sputtered to life. My lights turned back on, and I turned, pressing the booster.
"On my way", I answered, shooting towards the entrance of the hanger.
I took a shaky breath in as my ship began to shake the more I picked up speed.
"Echo?", I called.
"On your 6", he answered. I looked behind me and there he was.
"No matter what, just aim for the mouth of the ship", I said.
"General, you need medical attention-"
"General, I need to end this", I cut Obi Wan off, gritting, "Just get there."
"But the shields are still up!", Obi Wan.
"Not a problem", I cocked my head, excelling forward.
As I got closer, I saw Obi Wan and his apprentice's ship's drawing closer and closer. The ships hanger door was beginning to close. They were onto us.
"GO! GO! GO!", I yelled pushing my levers all they would go.
First, Obi Wan and his apprentice touched down first. Their ships hit the hanger floor and skidded across to the other side. They had jumped instantly and were ready, back to back, lightsabers in hand.
"Echo! Booster! NOW!", I ordered. I watched his ship launch forward by a couple hundred feet.
He made it inside and his ship, skirted across the floor, hitting the other wall with a thud.
I watched as Obi Wan ran to get him out quickly. He armed himself with his blaster and waited, watching towards the door for me.
With a nervous shrug, he dove out of the way as I gave it my all and boosted my ship one last time, launching towards the closing door.
At the last second, I aimed my machine gun at the outside panel and didn't let up until the shield operation block right exploded outside the door.
Barely making it by an inch, I made it inside. The door of the hanger closed just in time to catch my wing.
My ship crashes, scraping across the floor of the tarmac, and starts flipping again.
I had found a moment to bust through my window and rolled out onto the tarmac.
After a couple log rolls, I finally stop and watch as my ship continues to whirl into others, crashing into nearby ships.
A terrible screeching fills the room until it stops with a creak, then explodes and I cover my head.
