We run through the tunnel and jump out of the lights behind us as swiftly as possible but unfortunately, they were gaining on us.

I turn back and raise my hand to break apart a chunk of rock in the wall. It explodes and crumbles onto the path but then I am running again. It would only buy us a short amount of time but it was something to slow them down.

A wave shakes the cave around us and it nearly knocks me off my feet.  I stand again, gripping the ring and chain for dear life. He grabs me around my waist and pulls me to him before the floor beneath me gives way. I turn to him, wide eyed. He sends me a hard look and continues pulling me away by my arm toward any exit we could find.

Eventually, we reach another set of stairs that go down into the water. Our lightsabers turn off simultaneously and we dive right in. After what felt like searching in the dark for forever, I saw a lighter spot and pointed to swam like hell toward it. We broke the surface on the outside of the cave into the sea, searching around frantically in whatever the light of the jedi temple could provide.

"R2!!", he screamed into the night for his droid, in whatever hopes he could hear us."R2!"

" R2!", I joined in, trying not to drown under the choppy waves.

The Sea was enraged, and I was right along with it.

We both spun around when we heard the sound of our ship coming closer-R2 in the driver's seat coming as fast as he could.

I spotted a rock formation in the dark nearby. "This way!"

We swim as quick as we could and climb on top. We both lay back on it and attempted to catch our breath, choking on salt water- then the 'rock' began to vibrate.

In unison we turn to look at each other, our eyes wide as saucers, and that's when the submarine we were laying on top of rose up out of the water. I grabbed his arm and pull him to me when his grip slips and he almost slides off back into the water.

R2 glides closer and we get into stance to attempt to run and jump off the edge of the submarine. We succeed and grip the side of our ship at the last second. He swings himself up and over the edge, then reaches over and grabs my forearms to haul me inside.

Our back end get lit up with heavy duty blasters as we speed away, and Anakin hits the booster to propel us into the darkness. He jumps into the pilot seat and I slam down in the seat next to him. He hits all the outside lighters and reflectors to go dark.

Several minutes pass when R2's concerned whirs and beeps cut through the silence of the cabin, and I frantically feel through my bodice for the chain and ring, breathing a small sigh of relief when my fingers find it again.

The only lights flash slowly from the radar in front of us.

We had nothing to say. I was convinced we had completely forgotten how to speak at that moment.

In the slow blinking off red light of the radar, I fail to stifle a jolt when he asked if I was alright.

Darkness. Two seconds of dull red light. Then darkness again. It repeated twice more before I finally made myself turn around in my seat to look back at what was once my beloved city.

Flames. Buildings occasionally, crashing and falling into the streets off in the distance. With every second we got further away, I knew I could'nt go back. No matter how much I wanted to.

To say I felt like a failure was and understatement. That I didn't, and couldn't protect my people like I was supposed to.

"You should lay on the floor. Get out of sight. Your the one they're searching for anyway", he mentioned. I ignored him. My eyes were locked on the literal Hell that lay in wait behind us.

"I'm serious", he tried again,"All it takes is one censor on any one of these possibly hijacked cruiser units to recognize you and were all 3 done for."

"Let them try. I will blow them all to Hell", I gritted. My hand must of been balled in a fist in my lap because he kept shooting glances over at me.

"Don't do that."

I finally shoot a glare at him and he turned to me as well.

"Don't get angry. I know it's hard not to, believe me. There was nothing you could've done. You did what you could-they'll remember that. And if we don't save you now, we won't be able to do something later", he pointed out.

With one last glance, I release a long breath and nod in agreement. As I went to lower myself to the floor like he suggested, the whole ship rattled and shook as we were hit with ion cannon blasts. I fell to the floor and all the lights went out.
