The birds chirping outside my window and the faint smell of saltwater are what greet when as I stir awake. Then followed by the pressure in my forehead as I sat up.

I was laying at the end of my bed, in my room, my shoes kicked off halfway from the door. Unsure of how I had got there exactly. The dark curtains where pulled over my balcony where I heard the waves crashing against the rocks on the shore.

The events of last night flood back to mind and I groan as I lay back down again.

"Ms. Godfrey?", someone called, followed by a knock on the other side of my doors.

"Yes?", I answered, rubbing my eyes.

The door opens and gold light pours in from the lanterns of the common room. There stands my handmaid, Cora, with a fresh, new uniform in hand.

"I'm sorry to wake you your highness, but I've your wardrobe", she motions to it."And lunch is ready downstairs if you'd like?"

I sigh and stand, taking my clothes from her and throwing them onto the bed.

"Thank you, Cora-but I'm not really hungry at the moment", Answer as I walk past her.

"I understand, your highness. Is there anything else I could get for you before I go?", she asks as I head into the bathroom.

"Yeah-a time machine or a glass ball", I call out, turning the sink on."Or both."

She giggles from the doorway."Fresh out I'm afraid."

"Then a glass of Crown will do", I say before splashing a handful of water over my face.

"Of course", she nods, then steps away into the kitchen to make me one.

A couple more handful of water and I look to the big hand clock on the wall. It read 5 minutes til noon. How long had I slept in.

I turn the faucet off and begin to pat dry my face with the towel before throwing it on the counter.

"Mother and Father?", I call, walking through the bathrooms double door into the kitchen.

"They've already left to make their rounds", she answers, filling the glass then setting it down next to me.

"Are they upset?", I ask, lifting it to my mouth for a drink.

"Worried, if anything. As am I, your highness", she sighs. "They missed you again at dinner last night."

My eyebrows scrunch and I shake my head, not meeting her concerned brown orbs.

"I've got a lot going on to be concerned with eating", I say, sipping my drink once more. Every sip relaxing me a little more."I'll get something to eat today down at the cafeteria if it concerns you so."

She opens her mouth to say something but ends up closing it and nodding.

"Is there anything else, miss?", she asks.

"No thank you, that'll be all", I nodded.

"Then I will see you later on, your Highness", she says and bows lightly.

"You have a good day, Cora', I call as she makes her way to the evaluator in the dining room.

"Make sure to do the same!", she smiles over her shoulder.

Suddenly, the elevator beeps and the door opens for Echo to walk in. He and Cora stop in front of each other and he smiles, cocking his head lightly.

"Hello", he says.

Cora smiles sheepishly and she chuckles at the floor."Hello."

I raise my eyebrows over my glass and set it down.

"I don't believe you two have met! Echo, this is my friend Cora. Cora this is my friend and co-pilot Echo", I nod towards him.

"A rebel fighter?", she asks as they shake hands.

"Yes, ma'am. Second in command", he nods.

"It's very nice to meet you", she smiles.

"Likewise", he nods and smirks.

"Well, maybe I'll see you again sometime", she says, walking backwards to the elevator. She presses the button and shrugs."You could show me your ship or something."

"Definitely", he blinks and nods back.

The elevator doors slide open and she gives him one last smile before stepping inside.

He sighs contently as he watched her go, and finally turns to me, straightening up.

I smirk and raise my eyebrows again."Did you need something, Commander Romeo?"

To this he rolls his eyes and nods.

"Actually, yes; They'd like to see you down at the Temple", he says.'They've called a debriefing meeting of yesterday's events."

The smirk slips from my face and I sigh myself. I slam the rest of my drink back and set it down, turning to go get ready.
