after some time gibbs called us all back for the helicopter ride to the boat
"The Commander's on a call with LANTFLEET, sir." the chief said "He'll catch up with you as soon as he can."
"We appreciate it, Master Chief." gibbs said
"Did you have any contact with Seaman MacDonald?" toni asked
"Can't say I did, sir, kept pretty much to himself." he said
"Seems to be the general consensus." gibbs said
"Or the party line." i added toni high-fives me for the comment
"We got you set up in the XO's quarters. its small but it's private and secure." he said
"I'm sure it'll be fine." gibbs said
"Enter." someone said
"Lieutenant Commander Robbins, Agent Gibbs." the chief introduced him
"Appreciate you giving up your-," gibbs was interrupted
"ah Not a problem." robbins said walking out
"NCIS is always welcome aboard, sir, you can expect excellent cooperation." chief said
"Appreciate that, Master Chief." gibbs said
"If you need anything"
" I won't hesitate."
"Now, why didn't that sound sincere?" kate asked
" Ah, you get used to it." i say
"They're either stonewall or kiss ass." gibbs said "To them, we're the IA of the Navy."
"So, basically, they hate us?" kate said
"No!" toni said sarcastically
"Pretty much." i answer
"Set up the laptop and establish a feed from NCIS." gibbs said
"I'm on it." toni said
"We're not all sleeping here, are we? Together?" kate asked
" I'll take the couch." gibbs said
"i dont have a problem with toni" i say and toni shrugged
"ill take the floor then" kate said
toni and i high five for the second time knowing we get a bed
