I'm Really Not Okay

I feel a little nauseous and my hands are shaking
I guess that means you're close by
My throat is getting dry and my heart is racing
I haven't been by your side
In a minute, but I think about it sometimes
Even though I know it's not so distant
Oh, no, I still wanna reminisce it
I think of the night in the park, it was getting dark
And we stayed up for hours
What a time, what a time, what a time
You clinged to my body like you wanted it forever
What a time, what a time, what a time
For you and I
What a time, what a time
For you and I

Y/n took a breath hearing her song through her head phones. She played around with the mixing board and her computer, before sitting back and letting the song play.

"Is that the song you're working on?" Hailee said, sitting down next to the celeb. Y/n looked at Hailee, taking off her headphones, turning her chair to face her.

After the fight they had a few days ago, y/n decided she would stand her ground. She just wanted nothing but peaceful days, and not have to worry or stress about anything. She told Hailee that, and at the end the two decided not to talk about. How could she. She herself couldn't even look herself in the mirror and tell herself everything was going to be okay.

Y/n took Hailees hand pulling her up from her seat and onto her lap, caressing her thigh with her thumb. Y/n kisses hailee's exposed shoulder.

"Yup, the problem is the male vocals. Just the featured part is left. I had a guide sent to me from the producer. Do you want to listen?" Y/n asked.

Hailee nodded her head, and y/n removed the jack of the headphones. She turned up the speakers and pressed play.

I know we didn't end it like we're supposed to
And now we get a bit tense
I wonder if my mind just leaves out all the bad parts
I know we didn't make sense
I admit it that I think about it sometimes
Even though I know it's not so distant
Oh, no, I still wanna reminisce it I think of the night in the park, it was getting dark
And we stayed up for hours
What a time, what a time, what a time
You clinged to my body like you wanted it forever
What a time, what a time, what a time
For you and I
What a time, what a time
For you and I

Y/n paused the song, her finger hovered over the vocals on the computer screen. She leaned forward tapping away on her laptop.

"Whats wrong?" Hailee asked, seeing how agitated y/n got.

"The vocals..."

"You know who was singing, they sound really good"

"Niall" y/n said through gritted teeth. "I was looking for someone more famous, anyone even a rookie. But Niall who the fuck put him in my--"

y/n placed her hand over her mouth, taking a deep breath.

"Y/n?"

"I approved it" y/n muttered.

"How did you--"

"I heard the song and heard the vocals. I thought they were great too but I in that moment forgot who the singer was."

"How can you forget Niall's voice. You guys used to be friends, surely you heard him sing countless times."

Y/n was about to speak but got cut off by her phone. It wasn't a caller, nor was it a text. Nothing on social media but a reminder. Y/n carefully stood up making sure hailee didn't fall, sitting her back down on the chair before taking a step off to the side. She opened her reminder seeing the words

'13 days till statute of limitations is over'

She looked at it, wondering what was the reminder. What it meant, but couldn't think of anything. She turned towards hailee, the words she said through the door, when she was hiding rang in her ears, almost as if it was a long forgotten memory.
