Flashback

Y/n... I had a dream last night. And in that dream, I met you. Out of all moments when I was the most pathetic, embarrassed, and at the moment I wanted to die. In that dream, you were there looking at me, and only me. Out of everyone looking your way, everyone who in that moment was better, more mature, and more elegant for someone of your stature, you stopped and stared at me.

You walked my way, almost as if you had your own force field, reflecting off the many people who wanted your attention. No one mattered to you in that moment. Until you were right in front of me. You took my hand, and pulled me away from the world... pulling me right along side you.

Even though I knew it was a dream which would disappear once I woke up, my heart fluttered, my heart pounded, and your hand felt unbelievably warm.

In that dream, we were in our house. You cooked food, smiling and singing to songs that had been playing on your vantage record player. Your favorite Elvis Presley, dancing as you cooked the foods you knew I loved the most. Even in that dream, I thought about telling you that I loved you, but I was afraid you will go far away from me.

You placed the food in front of me, and I ate every bite. It's the first thing you cooked for me in so long. How could I not eat it? Even if it was just a dream it tasted perfect.

Then you kissed me. We kissed, and kissed until our jaws hurt.

Don't you know how sad, lonely and torturous it is dreaming something so beautifully while knowing it's just a dream?

When you and l lay together on the living room floor, playing boardgames as the fire place keeps us warm. Or the many playful taunts you would do when I lost, or get unlucky. But at the end you let me win.

You always let me win.

Morning, don't come. Please don't come near. Don't dare wake me up from this dream. Whoever does will have to face my revenge, for their entire life.

Hailee, woke up. Her eyes looked around, the dark room, hearing the many nosies of beeping and booping, as well as mumbles. When she tried to sit up, her body was sore, her chest hurt, and so did her head, but her pain was nothing compared to the emotions that ran through her when her brain finally adjusted to the room she was in.

Machinery everywhere, the heart monitor began to beep rapidly, her heart rate spiking. She placed her hands all over her body, before ripping out the IV's from the crook of her elbow.

She placed her feet on the ground, but as soon as it was time to lift her body, her legs couldn't support her. She fell to her knees. Hailee stayed like that, until she felt her legs gaining their strength back.

"Hailee, what are you doing out of bed" Elijah ran towards her, picking her up and siting her back down onto the bed.

"Y/n... W-where is y/n" hailee stammered, trying to get away from Elijah's grasp. Elijah tried once more to keep hailee still but it was fruitless and hailee began to fight harder.

"She's going to be okay" Elijah said, trying to make hailee hear him, trying to get her to calm down.

"Where?" the young girl looked at his eyes, before getting out of his hold and walking out the door.

Elijah caught hailee right when her legs gave out for the second time.

"I wanna be with y/n, please" hailee whimpered.

Elijah nodded her head, holding hailee up by her arm as she rested against him.

Hailee's eyes widen when she could hear the conversation between the doctor and caroline, y/n's mother.
