Chapter 7: The Yule Ball

Great Hall No POV

After Wade said yes to Tonks about going with her to the Yule Ball, she had been skipping around like Luna Lovegood does when she's particularly cheery. Merula and Chiara groaned but they were at least happy Wade will dance one song with them.

Fleur asked Wade but Wade already said he was going with Tonks which saddened her. Wade promised her a dance and that got her mood up.

Wade just hoped that no more girls ask to dance with him.

Anyway, Wade and his group were at the Great Hall doing some sort of joint assignment time thing as Snape was the one making sure the students focused. Penny, Skye, Andre, Talbott and Merula finished as Wade just took his time with it as the others were having a little trouble with it.

Ron: this is mad. At this rate, we'll be the only ones in our year without dates.

Snape:<forces his head back into his assignment>

Ron: well... us, Ben and Neville.

Harry: yeah, but, then again, they can take themselves or each other.

Hermione: it might interest you to know that Neville's already got someone.

Ron: now I'm really depressed.

Fred:<passed them a note>

Ron: "get a move on or all the good ones will have gone." Who you going with, then?

Fred:<throws a paper ball at Angelina> Oi, Angelina?

Angelina: what?

Fred: do you... wanna go... to the ball... with me?

Angelina: to the ball? Yeah, all right, then.

Fred winked at them and Ron was speechless at how easily Fred got a date. He turned to Hermione and didn't choose his words carefully.

Ron: Oi, Hermione. You're a girl.

Hermione: oh, well spotted.

Ron: come with one of us?

Harry tried to warn Ron of Snape but it was too late as Ron got smacked in the back of the head with a book making Harry chuckle which also earned him a smack in the back of the head with a book but he saw it coming anyway.

Ron: come on. It's one thing for a bloke to show up alone. For a girl, it's just sad.

Hermione: I won't be going alone, because, believe it or not, someone's asked me.<gets up and hands her assignment to Snape> and I said yes!<walks off angry>

Ron: bloody hell. She's lying, right?

Harry: I don't think so.

Ron: look, we've just gotta grit our teeth and do it. Tonight, when he get back to the common room, we'll both have partners. Agreed?

Harry: agreed.

Snape saw them talking, he looked tired of their shit as he pulled his sleeves back a little, grabbed their heads and forced them to look at their assignments very roughly that made them groan at the same time.

Wade's group met again.

Wade: ok so I wrote the names of everyone in the group in the board to keep track of who is going with who. Penny and Skye, Ismelda and Barnaby, Andre and Talbott.

Ben: Andre and Talbott?

Andre: just as friends. It was easier for us to do that.

Talbott: it was.
