Chapter 8 Promises

Hogwarts No POV

It has been some time after the Christmas Break and Wade did tell Merula about what her mother said. It went like this.

Wade: Merula.

Merula: yes?

Wade: can I talk to you in private?

Merula: sure.

Wade and Merula went into an empty classroom.

Wade: you might want to sit for this.

Merula:<sits down> what is it?

Wade: during Christmas Day, my home was attacked by two Death Eaters.

Merula: are you-

Wade: I'm fine, so is Tonks. It was easy to fend them off as I took off the masks, it was your parents.

Merula:<her heart dropped> what?

Wade: your parents were either sent to scare me or kill me. They didn't succeed. They also wanted me to pass along a message.

Merula: and that is?

Wade: she said, "we will be a family again".

Merula: oh.

Wade: seems your mom is afraid of your well-being. Just as she should.

Merula: the Dark Lord is gonna-

Wade: he won't do anything.

Merula: for our mission to succeed, Dumbledore-

Wade: I know. I know.

Merula: I don't know what to do.

Wade:<hugs her to his chest> you won't have to do anything, neither you, Ismelda or Barnaby. I'll make sure of it.

Timeskip

Wade was in the common room at night just reading "The Last Command" as he got a vision of a bottle and Ron on the ground with foam coming out of his mouth. He knew something was going to make sure his life doesn't forfeit so he just stayed out of it however come early morning he went towards the place Draco used to access that room filled with stuff.

Draco:<walked over> Torchwick.

Wade: inside.

Draco and Wade went in as the doors closed behind him as Harry didn't catch them. Draco led Wade towards the Vanishing Closet as he took the cover off to show it as Draco placed a bird inside, he waited a few seconds before opening it and the bird was gone, he closed it, opened it a few seconds later and the bird was there but he was dead.

Wade: a bird out of his cage is a dead bird in the eyes of Voldemort. I promised Merula, Ismelda and Barnaby that I will keep them safe. I haven't made that promise to you.

Draco: you don't have to.

Wade: but I do. The necklace. the poison. Two times you've failed. But as the muggles say, "third time's the charm".

Draco: I'm getting desperate. Potter has been following me, getting close to the truth.

Wade: because you make it so obvious.

Draco: I'm getting desperate, I don't know what... <a sob escaped his mouth>

Wade just let Draco get it out of his system as this would have made anyone break down and cry.

Wade:<pats his back> there, there. Let's get you some food.

Wade guided Draco to the Great Hall, they went to get food but Draco saw Katie Bell as she was looking at him and Harry turned to him. Draco got out of the Great Hall as Harry followed. Wade saw them go as he got a vision of Draco surrounded by water but not covering him but he was bleeding and his blood was becoming part of the water. He went to get Professor Snape as of what he saw in SlugHorn's party, he thought that Snape is protecting Draco from something.

Wade:<knocks on the door> Professor.

Snape: what is it, Torchwick?

Wade: it's Draco, sir. He's in danger.

Snape: where?

Wade: follow me.

Wade and Snape power walked to the boys restroom near the bird cage as they saw no birds inside. They heard water inside as they heard Harry.

Harry: Sectumsempra!

They walked in to see Draco indeed bleeding on the ground as Harry was looking at him with terror in his eyes and regret. Harry looked back at them as Wade walked forward and took Harry out of the restroom as Snape healed Draco.

Wade: give me that book.

Harry: why?

Wade: give me that book. Now.

Harry gave the book to Wade as he didn't want to have it anymore after what he did to Draco.

Wade:<opens it and reads it then closes it> get rid of it.

Wade slams the book on Harry's chest as he walked away. Wade went to Slytherin dormitory as he felt a pain on his chest as he leaned into his bed, he grabbed the Slytherin locked as he removed it from his neck as the pain stopped. He looked at it as he grabbed a small chest he had in his trunk, placed the locket inside, closed it and used a spell his grandfather Grindelwald thought him that no regular unlocking spell could unlock. He hid it back on the trunk as he felt a little better.

Hunter flew in as he dropped a package on Wade's open hand as Wade grabbed a piece of Owl Food, tossed it in the air and Hunter grabbed it midair. Wade opened the package as it was a book on... Horocruxes.

Wade read a lot that evening and he was wondering why his grandpa sent him this as he looked at the note.

Grindelwald:<note> Visit Dumbledore. Learn and plan.

Wade put the book away as he went to Dumbledore's office, he knocked on the door.

Dumbledore: come in.

Wade:<walks in> Professor.

Dumbledore: Wade? Is something wrong?

Wade: my grandfather sent me this. <shows him the book>

Dumbledore: Horcruxes?

Wade: he said to learn and plan. What does that mean?

Dumbledore: have you read the book?

Wade: every page. This is very dark stuff. It's how Voldemort survives, isn't it?

Dumbledore: yes. I discovered about it during some... investigations.

Wade: but why-

Dumbledore: Grindelwald sent me a note, that you should not be involved in this.

Wade: that's a contradiction regarding sending me this book.

Dumbledore: that is true, why he sent you the book I do not know but Axel and yourself have to go to the Department of Mysteries.

Wade: to do what?

Dumbledore: find your prophecy.

Wade: my prophecy?

Dumbledore: yes. Your Prophecy.
