Chapter 6: Long Road Ahead

Forest No POV

Harry and Ron set up the tent as they took some rest at night before first thing in the morning they will try to destroy the locket.

Hermione: you first.

Harry: Dissendium!

Harry fired a spell that did nothing to the locket as it flew off when the spell hit. The locket was clinking a lot.

Hermione: Incendio!

Hermione hit the locket with a fire spell as it also didn't do anything to it.

Ron: Expulso!

Ron hit the locket with another spell that it made it bounce away. Harry was getting frustrated as he approached the locket.

Harry; Diffindo! Reducto!

Harry kept sending spell after spell after spell but the locket remained unharmed. Harry picked it up and put it around his neck and under his shirt.

Hermione: what are you doing?

Harry: we have to keep it safe until we find out how to destroy it.

Ron: seems strange, mate. Dumbledore sends you off to find all these Horcruxes but doesn't tell you how to destroy them. Doesn't that bother you?

Harry didn't respond as he walks off.

A little later, Ron was listening to the radio.

Man: <radio> a goblin by the name of Gornuk was also killed. It is believed that muggle-born Dean Thomas and a second goblin, both believe to have been traveling with Cresswell and Gornuk may have escaped. If Dean is listening or anyone has any knowledge about his whereabouts his parents..

Harry tuned out the rest of the radio as he remembers that night at the Ministry when Sirius died as he took the locket out, he wanted to kill Bellatrix so badly. Harry had another vision of Voldemort going to Gregorovitch, a wandmaker like Ollivander, and asking where a wand is as Gregorovitch told Voldemort that it was stolen from him by a boy. Voldemort killed Gregorovitch soon after.

Hermione walked over to Harry.

Hermione: I thought it had stopped. You can't keep letting him in, Harry.

Harry: you-know-who has found Gregorovitch.

Hermione: the wandmaker?

Harry: he w-wants something... that Gregorovitch used to have... but I don't know what. But he w-wants it desperately. I mean, it's as if his life depends on it. It's like even his War with Wade doesn't matter.

Harry heard the radio again as he moved to go to it.

Hermione; don't! It comforts him.

Harry: it sets my teeth on edge. What's he expecting to hear, good news?

Man: <radio> even for those who long expected it the fall of the Ministry was shocking. Even with Grindelwald's take over of it.

Hermione; I think he just hopes he doesn't hear bad news.

Harry: how long before we can travel?

Hermione: a few hours. I'm doing all I can.

Harry; you're not doing enough! <walks past her>

Hermione: take it off. I said take it off, now.

Harry takes the locket off and gives it to Hermione as he noticed something.

Hermione: better?

Harry: loads. How did Wade lived with this for 6 years?

Hermione: I don't know. Seems he's stronger than we thought. We'll take it in turns, okay?
