Chapter 4: The Battle Begins

Hogwarts No POV

All the students, except Slytherin, Staff, even ghosts and paintings all started to move to defend the castle.

Ron: Harry, Hermione and I have been thinking. It doesn't matter if we find a Horcrux.

Harry; what do you mean?

Hermione: unless we can destroy it.

Ron: so we were thinking...

Hermione: Ron was thinking. It was Ron's idea. It's brilliant.

Ron: you destroyed Tom Riddle's diary with a Basilisk fang, right?

Harry: <nods>

Ron: me and Hermione know where we might find one.

Harry: okay. Okay, but take this. <hands them the Marauders Map> that way you can find me when you get back.

Hermione; where are you going?

Harry: Ravenclaw Common Room. Gotta start somewhere.

They all split up as Talbott and Luna saw him and followed him.

Luna: Harry. Harry!

Great Hall

Neville: let me get this straight. You're actually giving us permission to do this?

McGonagall; that is correct, Longbottom.

Neville; to blow it up? Boom?

McGonagall: Boom!

Neville: wicked. But how on Earth are we gonna do that?

McGonagall: why don't you confer with Mr Finnigan? As I recall, he had a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics.

Seamus: I can bring it down.

McGonagall: that's the spirit. Now away you go.

Neville and Seamus ran off with Cho. Slughorn walked past while drinking from his flask.

Flitwick: you do realize, of course, we can't keep out You-Know-Who indefinitely.

McGonagall: well, that doesn't mean we can't delay him until Torchwick arrives with his reinforcements. And his name is Voldemort, Filius. You might as well use it. He's going to try to kill you either way. <turns around> Piertotum Locomotor.

Next thing that happened was the stone knight statues getting out of the wall and landed on the floor. They all got into formation and started marching with their stone weapons raised high for War.

McGonagall; Hogwarts is threatened. Man the boundaries. Protect us. Do your duty to our school. <giddy> I've always wanted to use that spell.

Molly: <was in surprise still>

Flitwick; <raises his wand to the sky> Protego Maxima. Fianto Duri. Repello Inimicum.

Slughorn and Molly followed on reciting these enchantments as they made a dome around the entirety of Hogwarts. They weren't the only ones as other staff members also did the spell to cover all of Hogwarts as the Dementors all backed off.

Inside

Talbott: Harry, wait. We need to talk to you.

Harry; I'm a bit preoccupied at the moment, Luna, Talbott.

Luna: you won't find anything's my where you're going. You're wasting time.

Harry: look, we'll talk later, okay?

Luna: Harry.

Harry: later.

Luna: Harry Potter! You listen to us right now! Don't you remember what Cho said about Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem? "There's not a person alive who's seen it."
