Legolas and I walk along the cold, stone floor. Moria was gigantic. Tall, ceilings, vast halls of rock, and looming pillars. We began to ascend a very steep stair. Legolas steps up and helps me.

"Pipp." Merry states as pippin nearly slipped. We reached the top and Gandalf said. "I have no memory of this place." Our fellowship decided to rest.

We set up our small camp in the center of a stone room. A few walls were broken here and there which made it seem like a room. Legolas pulled me behind one. "How are you doing?" He put a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"I'm okay. I'm walking through a mine of dead bodies but so far I'm just chilling." I smile.

"You never cease to amaze me. You always find a way to remain joyful even when we are walking through a graveyard." My husband kissed my lips.

"Well, there's a silver lining to every cloud. In order to see the rainbow, you must first endure the storm."

We rejoin the others in time to hear Pippin say. "Are we lost?"

Merry hushes him.

"I think we are."

"Shh, Gandalf's thinking."

"Merry?" Pippin asks.

"Shh!"

"I'm hungry." Pippin said. Frodo sits up in a rush and looks over the edge.

"There's something down there!" He says in a panicked tone.

"It is Gollum." Gandalf replies, rather calmly. I looked over the edge. Two, bulging blue eyes sparkled.

"He's been following us for three days." The wizard says.

"He escaped the dungeons of Barad-dur?"

"Escaped or set loose. He hates and loves the ring as he hates and loves himself. He will never be rid of his need for it."

Frodo replied. "It's a pity Bilbo did not kill him when he had the chance."

"Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death, and Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death and judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet. For good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many."

Frodo sighed sadly. "I wish the ring had never come to me, I wish none of this had happened."

The old man replied. "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide, all we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us. There are other forces at work in this world besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the ring in which case, you were also meant to have it. That is an encouraging thought."

Gandalf looked up. "Oh! It is that way!"

We stood up.

He's remembered." Merry said happily.

"The air doesn't smell so foul down here. If in doubt Meriadoc, Follow your nose. We started to ascend another staircase. Legolas kept his hand on my back.

Gandalf's staff glowed brighter and I gasped at what lay before us.

We walk in wonder at the Dwarves' city.

"Oh!" Gimli cried and ran into a side room. "No. No!" He cried in agony. He falls to his knees. My heart hurt for him.

"Here lies Balin, son of Fundin." Gandalf reads the tomb's carvings. "Lord of Moria. He is dead then. It is as I feared." Gimli continues to grieve. Legolas turned me away and pulled me into his arms.
