*The song sets the entire vibe for this whole chapter. Would recommend listening to it*
Elvish in italics.
I was almost crying in fangirlness over the first part.

The week after Legolas woke up was full of joy. Frodo had also come out of his coma and was slowly starting to reveal the dark details of his journey. Most evenings were spent in the hall sitting around the fireplace and exchanging stories. I wrote down a little of what Frodo told me in my journal to keep when we got home. As a storybook and heirloom for our child. I even allowed Legolas to add a few things. He wrote a letter to his father and my family to let them know we were okay, safe, and happy here in Gondor. I decided it would be best to tell them about our baby in person. We still had a few things planned before we were going home and I did not want them to worry. Speaking of worried. Legolas was hawking me like nuts. It was sweet and I appreciated his concern but he was going into over-protective father mode.

"Lego?" I asked as I stepped into the darkened lounge.
"Yes love?" He smiled.
"It's the middle of the night. Are you alright?"
He cleared a spot on the sofa for me. "Yes. Just lost in my thoughts I think." I sat down and held his hand. "Want to talk about it?"
"Amrathan."
"I see. I was with him when he died. He told me to thank you again and to pass something to a girl."
"He owes me nothing."
"He owed you everything in his eyes. He jumped in front of an arrow. It would have hit me dead in the chest."
Legolas looked at me sadly.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.
"Oh darling, I do not blame you one bit. I am thankful he was there." Legolas hugged me tightly. "There's one more thing. Remember when we passed through Ithilien?"
"Of course, the flowers are beautiful there. I do wish to see it once more." I smiled. "The air is so free, and clear. I wish I could bottle it up and release it."
"I was speaking with Aragorn today and the land there is unsettled. Marred by war. It needs capable hands to tend it. Ones who know and respect living things."
"Oh?" I asked curiously.
"I was thinking after we travel with Gimli and the baby is born, we could do it. If you are fine with it of course. I want you to be happy."
"That's a lot of land for just the two of us," I stated.
"Not just for us. I want to establish a colony up there. The earth needs the elves and the elves need the earth. Sort of like an off-branch of Mirkwood."
"An elf colony? In the world of men? Will it work?"
"I think so. Our race may be coming to its end but there's strength left. The wood elves will not leave the land when it cries for our aid."
"Where would we live? There's nothing there but the woods."
"The hill, I will build us a house up on the hill. You can grow your flowers and gardens to your heart's content and I shall establish trade with Gondor. Our children will grow up among the trees just as we wanted." He stood.
"It sounds lovely."
"You shall be the fairest creature that wanders the forest."
I blushed.
