My jaw was clenched as I watched Finn lead Eve upstairs to a spare room. Kol was staring after them. A bit of longing in his eyes.
"We're not seriously letting her stay here, are we?" Rebekah asked. She seemed to be on my side of things. Not liking the murder of our mother staying in our home.
"You have a problem with Eve but not Finn? He literally was going to kill us all and for what?" Kol snapped. He was smitten for the girl. Anyone could see it.
"Are you saying we should get rid of our brother, Kol? Maybe we can rid the world of you as well?" I chimed in walking to the alcohol cart in the living area and pouring myself a whiskey. I needed a drink after today.
"Are you threatening me, brother?" Kol asked, turning to me. His eyes holding the heat of his anger and mischief.
"Enough you two." Elijah ordered, his fingers pinching at the bridge of his nose. He had been awfully quiet during this whole thing. I actually forgot he was even here. Turning to him, I looked at him expectantly. Elijah was nearly always on my side of things. If not mine then Rebekahs. And this time we were both agreeing.
"What of you brother? Tell us your thoughts on this matter." I urged, drinking my whiskey. The burn settling the slight hunger I had felt when Eve flashed her ruby eyes at me. It was a power move that made me feel weak. It awoken a hunger I needed to feed.
"I think, if Eve is as powerful as she says she is... then we need an ally." Elijah spoke wisely. There's the Noble brother. Always trying to think ahead. I hated to admit it, but he was right. The amount of enemies we've procured, we needed a power move on our side.
"As if we could take her either way." Kol reminded. His brown eyes glancing towards the stairs. "Need I remind you that she is a tribrid and over a hundred thousand years old."
"And heartless." I added in annoyance. "Literally."
When I had shoved my hand into her chest cavity, it was as if I was playing hide n seek with her heart. It just wasn't there.
"Think she even feels emotions if she's heartless?" Rebekah asked as she moved to sit down. "The way she speaks is as though she feels no sympathy."
"Which means she could turn on us just as easy as helping us." I growled. I didn't trust this girl. Not one bit. "And how do we know what she says is even true?? How do we know that she wasn't the one turning our brother against us?"
"She's being truthful." Finn spoke up as he entered the room. His jaw ticking away as if it was hard to discuss. "Mother was always in my ear when I was in the dark. It was like I was in a pit of emptiness. And she was my only salvation."
I looked at my oldest brother in regret. I did this to him. This is my fault. All because I thought he was boring and suicidal.
"But then I started to fade into reality. Into the Otherside- only it wasn't the otherside. It was like a mirror world." He went on to explain. "Eve was there. Watching. Always watching. She explained to me Mind Walking. How we were still in our own minds but able to see the world. Like looking through a mirror."
"I've never heard of Mind Walking." Elijah muttered, a little flabbergasted there was more to learn.
"Not many can do it." Finn informed. "Eve had mentioned there had been a few others who could. Anyone who had been dissicated for years or put to sleep."
"Like comatose?" Rebekah questioned. She seemed actually interested. Finn nodded. He turned to look at me.
"Eve isn't a bad person. She's been through a lot. Just as we all have been." I let out a sigh, nodding.
"So she really is the Source of all supernatural?"
