Eve was real. I still couldn't believe it. Mother was just trying to use me. Use me to right her own problems. I can't believe I was going to play along with her plans. I was going to quit life just so that I could make her happy. But did I want her dead in return?
I stopped in the parlor room, seeing Kol with a bunch of grimoire's open. I furrowed my brows as I watched him hold his hand out and a candle in front of him flickered. I swear my heart nearly began to beat again.
"What- how did you do that??" I demanded, entering the room quickly to observe. Kol snapped his eyes up at me in shock before a grin took over his face.
"Awesome isn't it? Eve helped me bring my magic to the surface again." He explained simply. Eve did this?? "Though, it seems to be easier to bring it back with her nearby."
"Because she's the source of the power." I pointed out. Kol shook his head. The grin on his face saying there's more to it. "Then what is it?"
"She bonded with me magically." Kol confessed. "That's how she brought my magic to the surface."
"You bonded with the Source? With Eve?" I repeated, shocked. Kol nodded before holding his hand up, concentrating on his fingers. He seemed to be trying to do a fire weave like Evie does. She did it in the Mirror world as well. It was like an unconscious habit.
"Think she can help me bring my power back? Or what about Rebekah?? Could you imagine Klaus's face when he realizes we're all technically Hybrids of some sort." I ranted. My excitement getting the better of me. Kol snapped his gaze up to me, some kind of emotion floating across his face.
"You're not bonding with her." He snapped, shocking me.
"I'm sure there's others ways to help our magic, Kol. Calm down. Evie is my friend." He glared at me for a minute before sighing.
"Sit down. Let's see if I can repeat how she did it-without the touching." I rolled my eyes at my brother before making myself comfortable in the chair next to him.
The grimoires were collected over the years it had seem. None of them belonging to him, but all the same- they seemed to have accepted him. How many witch friends had Kol made?
"Alright." Kol started, turning more towards me. "Close your eyes." I did immediately.
I trusted my kid brother. He was chaotic, but outcasted just as I was which caused us to bond. Elijah, Rebekah and Niklaus had their Always and Forever or Forever and always thing together. They involved us rarely in their family bonding.
"Breath. Find that buzzing sound deep inside. Like a spark of life fluttering within." His voice spoke in soft tones. It was rather calmimg.
It was like meditation. Trying to relax but all the same concentrating on something you never noticed before. It was odd. But I felt it. A warm buzzing deep in my veins. Urging me to follow it.
"Embrace the warmth it brings you. Welcome it to spread throughout your soul."
The spark of energy in the center of my being flickered back and forth. Like it was so neglected that it threatened to go out. But was somehow affected by the eternal life of a Vampire. Mixing together.
"Do you feel it? Like an adrenalin rush. Like you could do anything." Kol kept talking. But his voice tuned out of my hearing as the magic seemed to spread throughout me. Catching a flame as it hit every dark corner of my soul. Bringing back the old me. The me who enjoyed living. Enjoyed messing about.
"Woah." My eyes snapped open as a grin took over my lips. Kol was already looking at me with a mirrored grin. He could probably see the magic bring color back to my ashen skin.
"Feels amazing doesn't it?" Kol asked as he glanced to his hands. "Like being reborn all over again."
"It does- where is Evie?" I asked. I could feel her. The magic coming back heightening my sense for the source more than before. She wasn't in the house. Although, I could sense her through Kol.
"I believe the Bennett witch was using a tracking spell on her and she went to meet her." Kol spoke nonchalantly. I frowned though. I knew how these Mystic Falls residents could be. The first sign of overpowerment causing them to run around like a chicken with its head cut off.
"And you think she is safe with her?" Kol met my gaze as he tore away from his focus to bring a flame to his hand.
"You don't think-"
"I wouldn't put it past them." Kol jumped up with me before we both rushed to leave. Him chasing a woman he is smitten of and I was chasing my potential best friend. The one who kept me sane for years. The one that would change all of our lives. Whether for better or for worse.
