Chapter 11: Super spy

Ward has been training Sky's unit for a moth now. They have improved significantly. She would come at least once a week to check on their progress, and every time she came she would ask for a sparing with him, which he refused with the explaination that Zimmer has prohibited and that he has alreaddy promised her a rematch once he was at full strenght. She would constantly use his excuses as an invite to tease him about it.

This time Sorenson was there too to watch the training. Skye has told him of a significant improvement her unit has made under Ward's guidance, but he wanted to see it for himself.

"Skye, I want you to fight them"

"What are you talking about Jakub?" she asked with confusion all over her face.

"You are one of the best trained agents we ever had. Myself and the Major have both trained you that if they can protect themselves against the Quake and even give you slight injuries, it will show us he has done his job" the  man explained.

"I could hurt them. I am Atacker. They have completely opposite set of powers"

"Precisely. That's why you need to fight them. You'll know then for sure they will be okay against a strong enemy. Who better to fight for the test against, then their fearles leader. You will control yourself not to make any permanent injuries and will be able to feel first hand how they improved. Also show them why you are their leader. They might have forgotten it" her mentor says with a smile encouraging her.

She thought it through and he had a point. She nodded and went down tot he training ground.

"Listen up!" she orders and they stop in their tracks at what they were doing. "Me and Sorenson have decided to test all of you today" they looked at her with invisible questionmarks above their heads. "You all will fight against me. That will show me how each one of you has improved and how well agent Ward has trained you. Take a break, until I change into something more fight apropriate" she shows at her heels and skirt. "When I am ready you will first fight all together against me, and then we will go one on one" they looked at her with confusion,

"But we will be tired and beaten" Gutierez comments.

"And if the enemy strikes, will you tell him you will fight him tomorrow after you have slept because you are too tired to continue?" Gutierez kept quiet. "Treat this as your yearly assesments. You know the drill. Earn your spot on this force" she said and headed straight for the changing rooms.

Once she emerged back, she was wearing her black combat suit. Her hair was in a pony tail and she had black combat boots on. She stood in the center, looked up to see Sorenson nodding approvingly at her, and Ward beside him looking at her with curiousity.

"Let's do this" she says and stands in the fighting position.

They come one by one at her. Rogan first. He might have been 2 times bigger than her, but she was fast and prepared to use his size against him. She got him down easily. Others were afraid to take on their leader, but started coming for her. She could see they have improved their fighting skills, but they didn't use their brains. They could have joint forces, and they would have had a bigger chance at beating her. However, they didn't go with thaz strategy. They wanted to wear her out, but she had so much energy inside her. It was as if she was using her powers for gaining more energy through her vibrations. She hasn't quaked not once, all she used were her arms and legs.

"I've seen enough" Sorenson's voice is heard. "Agent Johnson, please give your assessment of the team for this part"

"You have improved your skills significantly as individuals, however you are a team and not once have you used your numbers against me. When you fight you have to also use your brains, observe your oponent, see their weaknesses. Not one of you has exploited my obvious weakness here" she pointed at her untied shoe laces. "Even something as small as this can help you beat your opponents. " she looked at her team. she could see their disappointment in themselves, but they were memorizing like a sponge what she was saying. She could see they wanted it.

"Take a 10 minute break and we will continue in one on one" she said and went towards the observing room where Sorenson and Ward were.

"So you were the one" Wards says as he sees her. She looked at him waiting for some context. "You were not the only one" he quotes her.

"Oh, that. Yes I am the one, so wipe that cocky grin of your face" she says with a smirk.

"I see you have been training" Sorenson remarks.

"You know me Jakub. There is always space for improvement. Besides I have picked some of his fighting tips" she lightly nods her head in Ward's direction. "So, how were you thinking we do this?" she asks her mentor.

"You tell me. You knoy your people as well as yourself the best."

"I was thinking taking on Rogan and Chang first. They seem to be the ones I'll have to use the most energy on. Afterward I want to see Gutierez and Hodgins. I'll take a small break to catch my breath and then take on Zambini and Gutierez again. I want to see how durable she is. Finally I'll end it with Jimenez, Calden and Falk.

"Sounds good. Show them who's the boss" Sorenson winks at his protoge as she leaves the room and goes back to fight.

"So, what does "You were not the only one" mean?" Sorenson asks Ward as he is watching Skye taking her second in comand.

"Just something she mentioned a while ago. She told me I wasn't the only one to climb the ranks that fast. I guess she was the one to do it before me"

"That girl is something else. She was the first to come to the position of deputy within 6 months. I just knew she was the one to be the leader and I wanted her by my side. She was on the radar to lead both specialists and tech, but I won her over. Soon Mallick and Whitehall noticed her and decided she would be a perfect candidate for their newest project: project super spy. She was to be injected with a serum that would give her Captain America's powers for a period of time. However, the serum reacted with her dormant genes turning her into Quake. At only 9 months since she has been here, she was made leader of our newest department - the SF. Once our leadership changed, Madam Hydra has selectedd Skye personaly to train with the Major herself. May still trains with her, preparing her to take her place."

"I can see she is full of fire" Ward comments as he sees her put down 4th person in row.

"That she is my boy. She is something special, and who ever wins her over will have to trade lightly" Sorenson says hinting something at Ward.

"We're done for today. You will get your assessments in the morning. Now Gutierez, you can go and rest" she smiled at her team. Once they left she took a deep breath and laid on the floor.

"You basicaly destroyed them" Sorenson commented as he came down from the observing room to where she lay.

"I don't know if destroy is the right word to use here" she said as she took his offered hand to stand up. "So, how did I do?"

"Briliantly as always." Sorenson answers. "But they still have a long way to go"

"Well they can't all be like me, right? Imagine 20 of me walking around wreaking havoc" she jokes.

"That wouldn't be good at all." he smiles at her.

"So, Ward? What's your assessment?"

Sorenson takes a minute to think. "He is not you, that's for sure" she smilled at that. "But I think he could take over from Jameson as my deputy"

"I think he is on the right track. If he is ready, not sure, but that's entirely your call."
