A/N ~~ A night in Newcastle, what could possibly go wrong..?
~~Saturday Evening, Newcastle~~
Lizzie POV
After a beautiful dinner together filled with so much talking and laughter, paired with constant flirty compliments from Harley across the table, I couldn't ask for a more perfect end to our day together. We finished our incredible food and decided to sit with our drinks a little while longer, not wanting the night too end so soon. Harley is enjoying her beer as I finish my cocktail, something about us both being so relaxed tonight and enjoying our alcoholic drinks for a change since neither of us have to drive, is causing the constant butterflies in my stomach to go into overdrive as my heart is racing uncontrollably. Seeing Harley beyond chilled out being back here is special to both of us. As much as I know she loves London and being with her family there, being in Newcastle is somewhere she will always call home. And I am beyond lucky to get to share this little part of the World with her. I can't take my eyes away from her right now. We get lost in in our conversation, talking about more of Harley's childhood spent up here before we both seem to finish our drinks at the same time. And instantly I feel my smile begin to falter for the first time today. "Baby? What's wrong?" Harley quickly reaches for my hand across the table, obviously noticing my change in demenour. I let her take my hand in hers softly, as if she is scared to break me, her thumb rubbing soothingly over the back of my knuckles. "I just.. I don't want today to be over. You've made our day so amazing, I never want it to end." I admit, causing Harley's smile to only grow as she squeezes my hand in hers comfortingly. I can't help but let me smile grow to match hers, seeing her eyes almost sparkling as she asks for the bill for our meal. "I'm glad you have enjoyed our day baby.. I'm just happy it all went to plan." She teases and instantly I am back to giggling at her playful tone just as the waitress returns with our bill and immediatley places it infront of Harley. How judgemental of her. Harley just grins as she places her card out and pays for the meal, knowing I have no way to fight her on it right now. I adore how she is not the type of person who expects me to pay for things because of how much money I make in my career, but I wish she would let me spoil her sometimes!
As soon as the waitress returns with Harley's card, she is quick to jump up from her seat and offer her hand for me to take as we leave the table and make our way out of the restraunt. We thank the staff on our way out, my hands holding on to Harley's very secure arm as we do. I love how safe I feel beside my Soldier.. The doors are opened for us, leading us out onto the busier side walk than when we arrived. My grip on Harley tightening slightly to stay close, as well as from the slight chill in the air. Harley stops us just outside the restraunt, keeping us to one side as she turns to face me, standing close so I can hear her over the busy City noise. "I have one more surprise for us, if your feeling up to it?" She tells me with a huge grin on her face. My heart instantly racing, having a rush of ideas in my head at once as my eyes flicker between hers. "We don't have to, but I thought we could kill two birds with one stone tonight.." She begins to explain, seeing her eyes lighting up as she does only makes me excited to hear what she has in mind. "Since you have been wanting to go out dancing, and I hate London night-life, why don't we go for a few drinks in the famous Newcastle Gay Scene?" She asks and instantly my eyes widen in surprise. A mixture of nerves and excitement hitting me with her words. She has told me so much about the night-life here in Newcastle, especially about what is known as The Pink Triangle, I think. "Really? You'd take me?" I question excitedly, but my nerves seem to escape as well as Harley quickly takes my hands in hers for comfort. "Of course, I'd love too baby! What do you say? And don't worry, if at any point it becomes too much or you want to call it a night, we can leave and head back to the Hotel." She quickly assures me and I can't help but melt at how sweet and protective she is. I don't answer her right away, instead I lean up slightly and press my lips into hers. She catches me with her hands on my waist, returning the slightly bruising kiss instantly. I nip at her bottom lip playfully, causing her to groan lowly as I slowly pull away and look into her now darkening eyes. "I'd love too Soldier." I whisper against her lips before pulling away properly. Her eyes light up as she quickly slips off her suit jacket and wraps it over my shoulders before she begins to lead us towards the club.
The walk ends up being a lot quicker than I was expecting, the streets crowded with people dressed up and ready for a night out. I can't believe how most of the girls are dressed, it's freezing and not one of them are shivering! Northerners are deffinently built differently when it comes to drinking and cold weather. I don't think I could ever get used to this. Even Harley has not flinched after giving me her suit jacket. She's only in a shirt and pants but she is happily walking us towards the club as if it is the middle of Summer. We watch the people around us, laughing and singing already and it's not even 9pm yet! I catch Harley smiling and laughing as she takes it all in around us, something about how her eyes are sparkling is making my heart beat so strongly in my chest. I wish she could feel this way no matter where she is in the World.. "Here we are." She announces suddenly as we round the corner. I look up at the huge neon sign above our heads, reading it aloud as I slip off Harley's jacket to give back to her now we are heading back inside. "Switch..?" I say out loud and Harley quickly beams over at me as she takes her jacket and slips it back on. "One of my favourites.." She replies easily and I can't help but laugh as she holds out her arm for me once again. "Ready?" She checks and I nod my head confidently. Ready to share the night with her, and share a part of her life at the same time. "Lead the way Soldier." I reply and she quickly pecks my lips before opening the doors and leading us inside. The music is filling the room as people are everywhere either dancing or just talking with drinks in hand. So many faces that are so relaxed and happy. Harley leads us to the bar as I just take in everything around us. "What can I get you baby?" Harley leans near my ear to ask over the music, sending a shiver down my spine feeling her so close all of a sudden. "Surprise me, but let me pay for these please?" I ask with soft, pleading eyes. Knowing she can never say no to me when I look up at her like this. And it instantly works as she narrows her eyes at me playfully. "Your not playing fair Elizabeth." She teases but I just lean up and kiss her frown away before she turns to order some drinks for us, the feeling of being able to just be ourselves in this environment is amazing. No second glances or judgemental looks, just smiles and laughter.
When we get our drinks, I feel Harley's arm wrap around my back as she leads us further into the club to where there seems to be a small seating area. We make our way through the crowd and Harley quickly leans over to a group of girls already sitting together on the chairs. "Is anyone sitting here?" She pretty much has to shout over the music, her arm never leaving my body as the girls quickly turn to us with huge smiles. "Not at all!" One of them yells back so I let Harley sit down first before I join her, squeezing into the small chair half sitting on her lap. Harley lets me take in everything around us as she drinks from her bottle, her free hand wrapped around behind me as her hand is laying on my lap. My free hand finds her fingers, playing with the rings she is wearing tonight as I look across the huge room, getting lost before an unfamiliar voice brings me back to Earth. "I'm so sorry to interupt, but I couldn't help but notice you as soon as you sat down. Your Elizabeth Olsen right?" The young women asks, a huge yet shy smile on her face as she leans over to where we are sitting, not shouting like people normally do in public. I smile softly and nod my head in reply, seeing her eyes widen. My nerves begin to bubble but before they can spiral, the girl places her hand on my arm gently. "Don't worry, your more than safe here. Especially with this one! I mean, wow those arms are bigger in person Captain!" She jokes between me and Harley, my nerves settling almost immediately at her calming voice and comforting demenour. Is everyone up North so nice!? "Your right there, it's nice having my own personal bodyguard all the time." I joke back, causing the girl to laugh, as well as Harley beside me. "Well, we all love you Miss Olsen. Not just your incredible acting, but your just an amazing human." She gushes as a few of the other girls have turned to join our small chat, nodding their heads in agreement with what she is saying. "Aw thank you so much. Being with this one has helped me so much recently so I can't take all the credit." I ramble back, gesturing towards Harley. "Oh don't get us started on Harley! We love her just as much, she's just the perfect girlfriend and most sweetest human ever! Your an absolute Power Couple!" Another girl adds making us both laugh a little shyly and before we know it, we are pretty much part of the group talking and laughing as if we have known them forever.
We quickly find out that the girls are on a Hen Night, so I buy them a round of drinks to celebrate, loving how respectful and welcoming they have been even knowing who I am. It's not very often I bump into fans who are this nice and down to Earth when they meet me. We get some pictures and even get pulled up to dance before the girls end up moving onto another bar. We say our goodbyes before I melt back into Harley's body on the chair, feeling a little giddy from the shots we have had. I'm not tipsy yet, but I am deffinently on my way. "Is someone a little light-headed.." Harley teases, wrapping her arms around me as she kisses my shoulder. "A little.." I admit easily, making her laugh as she nuzzles into me. She doesn't even seem like she has had a drink, and she has had double what I have had so far! "Would you like some water or another drink baby?" She offers, and as much as I don't want to get too light headed, I know I am safe with Harley.. I zone out a little starting to overthink but Harley seems to pick up on my slowly spiralling thoughts as she takes my hands in hers, lacing our fingers together. "Baby.. If you want to let your hair down and have another drink, I'm here to look after you. I promise." She whispers next to my ear, instantly warding off my negative thoughts so easily. "I'll have another drink then please Soldier.." I quickly add and she smiles against my neck before we both get up from our seats and head for the bar together this time now we are alone again. I lean into her side as her arm is wrapped around me again. I love how protective she is, and it is so subtle no one else even notices. Her fingers dance along my waist playfully as we wait to order some drinks, sending little shocks of electricity up my body as my fingers slip between the buttons on her shirt, scratching lightly at the skin of her stomach. I feel her tense slightly under my touch, making me smile at her reaction. I love how her reactions to my touch and even the way I look at her has never changed. The same way she can still make me weak at the knees with just one glance even now. I hope what we have never fades away..
I get snapped from my thoughts when I hear someone call out Harley's name from further down the bar. Instantly my heart starts to race. Not again..
My mind begins to replay the events of what happened last time we were in Newcastle, and what happened with her Brother. My guard shooting up in fear, but my eyes widen when I turn to look in the direction Harley is, and I see a beautiful brunette girl smiling as she looks over towards Harley. Oh fuck. I don't know what's worse right now. I snap back up to Harley as she seems to take a second before I hear her voice. "No way.. Robyn!?" She questions out loud, and instantly I feel my body tense up even more hearing that she knows the girl. But before I can say anything about it, she steps away from the bar. I follow her movements with my eyes and suddenly the girl comes rushing over towards Harley. I just stay standing out of the way as she shouts over to Harley in a very Northern accent. "HEY CAPTAIN!" She yells before they embrace in a hug. A very noticeable twang in my chest seeing her arms over Harley's shoulders, and Harley's arms nearly lifting the girl into the air. The hug does last a little while, but I try to ignore it before Harley brings the girl back towards the bar with a huge smile on her face. She joins my side again, but I don't feel her arm around me this time as she gets lost in conversation with the stranger standing infront of us. "How are you?" Harley asks excitedly, her eyes never leaving the brunette's. A familiarity in the look behind her eyes. "I'm good, how are you Harley? It's been a long time.." The stranger replies easily, a genuinely huge smile on her face in return as her bright blue eyes are fixed on Harley. "I'm great thank you!" Harley tells her enthusiastically. "You look amazing Harley. I can't believe your back." The brunette gushes, one of her hands squeezing Harley's upper arm. Breathe Lizzie. Breathe. "Just for tonight actually.." Harley replies almost a little disappointedly before she seems to remember I am there and she instantly clears her throat and shakes away whatever was going through her head. Her hand finding it's place on my waist again as she pulls me a little closer. A part of me wants to pull away from her, but at the same time, I don't want to jump to any conclusions so I try and relax as much as I can as Harley looks down to me with a small smile on her face.
"Robyn, this is my girlfriend Elizabeth. Lizzie, this is Robyn." She finally introduces us, the girl infront of us reaching out her hand for me to take. "Pleasure to meet you Elizabeth." She says softly as we share a small, polite hand shake before I bring my hand back to rest on Harley's stomach over her shirt. "You too Robyn, please, call me Lizzie." I reply as calmly as I can, not wanting to ruin the most amazing day I have had with Harley over something I could be overthinking. "Of course. How are you enjoying being up North with this one?" She asks sweetly, gesturing towards Harley with a playful pinch on her arm. Breathe Lizzie. "I love it.." I reply as best I can before a small silence falls between us all. But Harley is quick to break it as she looks between us both with a small smile. "How about you both find some seats and I'll get us some drinks?" Harley suggests and we both nod and smile in agreement. "Same as always Robyn?" She asks and Robyn quickly grins and nods her head. "Always." She replies easily before she begins to walk towards a different seating area. I glance back, seeing Harley ordering our drinks so I follow Robyn to a high table near the front of the club, a view out of the front windows onto the street. Robyn pulls me a chair out next to the window before she takes the seat next to me. We get ourselves comfortable before I quickly decide to get a conversation started between us whilst we wait for Harley, needing to know more. "So how do you know Harley?" I question as nicely as I can, hoping to gauge how close they are to try and settle my growing nerves. "We went to School together." Robyn answers easily. "Ah okay, so you've known her a long time then?" I ask further. "I have, but when she moved to London, we lost touch." She adds and I nod along softly. "Life just, gets in the way I suppose. We catch up here and there when we can, but she works so much it's hard to catch her properly." She adds and I smile softly as I nod in reply. "Yeah, she's not long come back from Tour." I explain and she hums in reply. "She's incredible for what she does, but I just hope she takes time for herself too, especially now she has you." I'm a little taken back by her words, but thankfully Harley arrives with our drinks to join us across the small table.
I thank Harley for my drink as she hands it across the table before I sit back and let them catch up. It doesn't take more than a minute for them both to fall into easy conversation as I sip on my cocktail. I glance between them periodically, mainly keeping my eyes on Harley as she smiles and laughs along with Robyn. But every time I glance over at Robyn, there is a look in her eyes that is screaming to me there is more to their "relationship" than just two people who went to school together. Her eyes are sparkling with every word Harley is saying as they flicker between both deep Harley's hazel eyes. I hate this.. I get lost in my thoughts, zoning out of their conversation completely as I turn my attention away from watching them and turn towards the street outside as people pass by. I trust Harley. More than anyone. But I also know she has a past, just like everyone else. And as much as Robyn doesn't look like she is gay, she still could be. Or even Bi. And I can't deny how unbelievably attractive Harley is, even when she was young she was really good looking. She's never changed. So it wouldn't surprise me if they have a history. I need to try and let go of these insecurities that haunt me. But after what others have done to me, it's broke me over and over. And I lost all trust in anybody. I hate them for it, because I have this incredible girl who adores me and gives me the World, but because of my past I struggle to give her my full trust when it comes to things like this. I blink away some tears that are building in my eyeline as I hear a phone ringing, so I take a deep breathe as Robyn excuses herself from our table and takes it outside. I watch her leave, letting my bubbling thoughts start to settle before I turn back to meet Harley's soft gaze already on me. "Hey you.." She greets softly across the table after finishing the last of her drink. "Hi.." I almost whisper, not trusting my own voice right now. "Baby.. What is it?" She questions with a hint of worry, but I just shake my head. "Nothing, I'm okay." I try but I can see she doesn't believe me. "Baby?" She tries again but just as we hear Robyn walking back towards the table from behind her, thankfully not giving me chance to say anything more.
"Well, I am heading off down the street to meet some people. And I will leave you both to your night after rudely interupting.." She tries to joke, and I paint on a smile as she comes to say goodbye. We share a quick hug this time as she leans in to whisper something to me so Harley can't hear it. "Look after her for me, please?" She almost begs and it doesn't help the intruding thoughts I am having about how close they were, but I play it off and I nod my head in reply. "I will.." I pretty much whisper before she pulls away with a small smile and then goes to Harley who is already standing waiting for her. I turn my head away as they hug, not wanting to see it again so I finish my drink as they say goodbye. Eventually, Robyn leaves the club, leaving a slight tension building between myself and Harley as she carefully makes her way to take the seat where Robyn was sitting next to me, leaving her empty bottle on the other side. I hate feeling like this, but I just know there is something more to them. "Talk to me baby." Harley finally breaks the growing silence between us, reaching her hand for my free one sitting on top of the table infront of me. I hesitate for a few seconds, now knowing what to expect from the questions I have about Robyn, and the last thing I want is to ruin our night. But at the same time, I know I need to be open and honest with Harley. So, I take a shaky breathe, turning slightly to face Harley better so we can talk properly but she stops me, seeing that I have something on my mind. "Come with me.." She tells me gently, cutting me off from asking anything as she reaches for my other hand and pulls me to follow her. I get up from my seat, not questioning anything as Harley keeps me close as she leads us upstairs and straight towards some sliding doors. I take a glance around the upstairs, seeing another small bar and what looks like two stripper poles but before I know it, Harley is leading us out onto a small decking area with seats and some overhead heaters. She gets me to sit down before she slips off her suit jacket and puts it over my shoulders then she takes a seat beside me. We get ourselves comfortable, turning towards each other but my eyes stay focused on my hands that are now laying on my lap nervously twitching. "Okay, talk to me baby. What's on your mind?" Harley whispers with so much worry behind her voice, breaking my heart that yet again it is my own insecurities coming between us.
"You and Robyn.. Were you just friends when you were at School together?" I get straight to the point, asking exactly what is going on in my head so we can get it out in the open. I see Harley tense up slightly before she lets out a shaky breath and reaches for one of my hands sitting on my lap. "We were always friends for as long as I have known her.." She begins to explain, but I can tell there is more to come so I nod my head for her to continue. "But she was my first." She adds and instantly I look up in confusion, meeting her soft eyes as she is watching me closely. "First?" I question, not wanting to presume anything. "You know.. My first." She repeats, and something seems to click at the way she tries to say it. "Oh. You mean..?" I ask, still not wanting to completely presume but also knowing even more so now that my gut feeling downstairs was right. "Yeah, that.. She uh, she had a boyfriend, but was always curious. So when they broke up, we became a lot closer and.. Yeah." She explains, slightly stumbling over her words. Obviously worried about how I am going to react as she holds onto my hand a little tighter so I can't run away. "Did you end up together?" I ask further, wanting to know exactly what happened. Hoping if I know all the facts it will help my spiralling thoughts. "No, no, nothing serious. Which is why I don't see her as my ex. We were always best friends first, but we hooked up a few times before I ended up moving away to London." She adds and my thoughts seem to calm down a little, but knowing they still have a past is lingering in my chest. "Okay.." I mumble, and instantly I feel her reach out for my other hand, pulling my attention to her fully. Her comforting eyes enough to get lost in as she doesn't let me overthink, knowing me far too well at this point. "Lizzie. You have nothing to worry about. Exes or not, no one comes anywhere near to the way I feel about you. It's only you baby. Always." She reassures me, and instantly I feel my heart racing at her slightly rushed out words. As much as I want to feel guarded, I can never hold anything against her when she has never given me any reason to doubt the way she feels about me. "I love you Harley Lane.." I whisper as I lean into her more, resting my forehead against hers. "I love you too Elizabeth Chase.." She whispers in reply, making me giggle at how quietly she says my name so no one else can hear her before we just have a moment to ourselves.
"Now come on, come and dance with me." Harley breaks our small moment, hearing the music getting louder as the night is still young. I can't help but laugh at her little wiggle she does with her shoulders before we pull away completely so we can face each other again. "One more drink?" I suggest, my buzz fading from being out here and there is no way I am dancing sober. "Okay deal." Harley quickly agrees as she gets up and offers her hand for me to take. "Such a gentle-women." I tease as I take her hand and pull myself up, stopping to pull down my dress, making Harley laugh lightly at me as she makes sure no one is around. My heart fluttering at the small gesture before I give her suit jacket back, knowing how warm it is inside. She slips it on before I melt into her side again, her arm wrapping around me to keep me close as we head inside and straight towards the bar upstairs. It is a little less crowded up here so we silently decide to stay up here as Harley orders our drinks, but I jump in to pay making us both laugh as I stumble over my heels. But as always, Harley is there to catch me so I can pay and we take our drinks and find some seats. We quickly fall back into our usual laughter as Harley gets back to her usual flirtatious self. But since we are tucked away, we both end up getting a little handsy under the table, the drinks not helping either of us. I can't believe how much Harley has been able to drink but yet she is still no where near being tipsy. We end up having a couple of more drinks as we enjoy the different songs playing through the room, I get Harley a stronger drink this time and she still doesn't seem massively phased by it. But when she is finished, her cheeks do seem a little flushed. "Is someone finally getting light-headed?" I tease as I nip at her sides under her jacket. "Getting there.." She teases back, leaning down to bite at my neck playfully. "Behave!" I push her away playfully as I warn her to stop, knowing we can't do anything tonight after having some drinks, something we both stick by no matter what. Just another thing that makes me fall more and more in love with this girl. She does everything right. How can I ever not trust her? She is everything I have ever wanted and so much more that I never knew I wanted until she came into my life.
~~Saturday Night, Newcastle~~
Normal POV
"Right, I'm not waiting any longer for a dance with you tonight.." I finish the last mouthful from my bottle before slipping out of my seat, standing with my hands out waiting for Lizzie to take them. I look down at her slightly glossy eyes and flushed cheeks, she's deffinently border-line tipsy by now, but it is so nice seeing her letting go and enjoying herself without anything getting in the way. "I can't dance.." She argues with a giggle, but I just shake my head with a huge smile spreading across my lips. Not moving an inch as she finishes her drink, accepting defeat knowing I always win - well.. Most of the time. "Come on baby, I know you can dance. There is no need to be shy with me, I promise." I try and reassure her gently as her hands finally slip into mine so I can carefully pull her up to her feet. "It's been a while.." She adds nervously as she stands infront of me. "It's just you and me.. Ignore everyone else." I tell her softly as I walk backwards, pulling her hands with me so she follows. I catch her giggling as I glance back over my shoulder, manoeuvring us through the crowd of people dancing. It's not too busy, but it's busy enough for us to get lost in the crowd. Once we are pretty much in the middle of the dance floor, I stop us and Lizzie looks around slowly. Her eyes widen seeing everyone, but no one is giving either of us a second glance, so I tug her closer and her eyes quickly find mine again. "Just look at me baby.." I whisper against her lips just as the music changes, everyone cheering making us both laugh as the floor begins to bounce along with everyone's movements. I get us started, Lizzie's hands still firmly in my own as I begin to dance along to Jason Derulo as 'Talk Dirty To Me' plays from the DJ box. Lizzie's cheeks blush bright red as her body follows mine, but it doesn't take long before she starts to get lost and my eyes never leave her body as she dances. She grabs a handful of my shirt, pulling me firmly into her as she turns around and begins to dance against my front. My hands naturally find her waist, feeling her hips flawlessly swaying from side to side. Fuck why have we never done this sooner! This girl is just.. Wow.
"Damn, if that's what happens when it's just us, I need to play some music more often.." I say breathlessly as we sit back down after dancing to so many songs I lost count. My eyes and thoughts were very pre-occupied on my incredibly sexy girlfriend pretty much grinding against my body. "Stop teasing!" She quickly whines playfully in my ear before picking up her drink and taking a sip. "No, I'm being deadly serious! You can really move baby." I playfully compliment further, seeing her cheeks blushing deep red at my words as I squeeze her thigh a little with one hand as my other is holding my drink. "Maybe I will treat you one night wearing that lingerie set you bought me.. if your lucky." Lizzie leans over, practically whispering in my ear before she nibbles on my ear-lobe. "Now who's teasing." I whisper in reply, catching her slightly darkened eyes looking back into my own. The drinks deffinently getting to us both as I feel Lizzie's free hand find my own on her lap. I think it's time we call it a night. "Have you had fun today baby?" I lean over and ask Lizzie as she finishes her drink. "I have had the best day because of you Harley Lane." She replies, slightly slurring her words. Yep. Deffinently home time. "How about we head back to the Hotel?" I suggest and she quickly frowns and searches for my watch, pulling my arm up so she can see it properly. I can't help but laugh at her scrunched up face as she reads the time. "Is it really that late already?" She checks and I nod my head in reply. "It is baby." I say through my laughter and she beams up at me and pushes her empty drink away from her on the table. "I want some food.." She announces and I can't help but laugh as I see her eyes widen at the thought. Food does sound good right now. "How about we get a pizza, and then go to the Hotel?" I offer and she quickly nods her head excitedly in agreement. "Good plan Soldier." I get up from my seat then quickly turn back to hold out my hands for Lizzie, who instantly stumbles a little as she gets up. This is going to be fun. But seeing her so happy and carefree is beyond worth looking after her right now. "Come on my drunken girl, let's go get some food." I say teasingly, making her giggle as she shakes her head in reply. "I'm not drink." Yeah, your not drink Lizzie. Too cute..
"I'm going to order us a taxi baby.." I tell Lizzie as I walk us out of the Pizza Shop. But before I can reach for my phone, Lizzie stops me and beams up, making me just chuckle at her tipsy state. "I want to walk, how far away is the Hotel from here?" She mumbles lazily and I have to stop myself from laughing as I roughly work out how long it will take us to walk from here. "Uhm, 20, maybe 30 minutes?" I reply and she seems to think about it before meeting my eyes again. "Can we walk past the river?" She adds and I just melt under her wide eyes. I can never say no to this girl, ever. "Only if your sure?" I ask and she beams up and nods her head excitedly. "I'm sure. Come on, lead the way!" She skips off with the bag in her hand, since she wanted a lot of food to soak up her alcohol intake. I'm holding a pizza box in one hand as I follow behind her, letting her skip off to the end of the street before she turns back to see which way we have to go. I laugh as I reach her, offering my hand for her which she quickly accepts and leans into my side. I begin to lead us down towards the River, squeezing through some crowds of people since some clubs close around this time at night. Lizzie stays close, but she isn't as tense in her tipsy state which I am thankful for but I also have to keep her from stumbling in her heels as the streets get steeper the closer we get to the River. When we make it to the Quayside, Lizzie giggles as we start our walk alongside the River, her head leaning into my arm. "We have so many good memories here Soldier." Lizzie mumbles and I can't help but smile at her words. She's adorable. "We do baby.. We have so many amazing memories together." I reply and instantly I feel her giggling by my side. We fall into a small silence as we just take in the peaceful night away from the City, the day we have shared together flashing through my mind. I love being able to surprise Lizzie like this, she's not one for huge and expensive gestures, but just seeing the smile on her face when I surprise her like today is so special. I've never been with someone who appreciates the small things the way Lizzie does. I don't make the best wage being in the Army, but none of that matters to her.
"My feet hurt.." Lizzie starts to slow down her walking and I can't help but laugh lightly at her words. I stop us from going any further, knowing we still have a good 10 minutes walk to the Hotel. Lizzie beams up at me with flushed cheeks and bright eyes as I quickly think of how we can get there without Lizzie being in pain. And right now, there is no point in ordering a taxi so there is only one other idea I can think of. "Come on, jump up." I say as I turn around and lean down a little. Lizzie instantly giggles as she puts her free hand on my back. "You can't carry me all that way Harley!" She giggles and stumbles over her words, but she literally weighs nothing compared to my Burgan so of course I can carry her to the Hotel. "I promise you, I can carry you to the Hotel baby. So come on, let's go!" I tease and she quickly giggles before jumping up onto my back. I can't help but laugh as I catch her with my free arm, lifting her as high as I can onto my back as she uses her free arm to hold onto me as her other arm is lazily laying over my shoulder with the bag in her hand. "Comfortable?" I check as I stand up straight again, and she quickly nods her head before nuzzling hr face into my neck, giggle sweetly as her legs tighten around my waist. "Very." She mumbles into my neck, making me laugh as I manage to pick up the pace so we can get back even quicker. "How are you not at least a little bit drunk Harley?" Lizzie mumbles near my ear lazily as her free hand creeps past my shirt and lays against my collar bone, which I don't think she even realises she is doing but I just let her, laughing lightly at my suit jacket sleeve being too big around her wrists keeping her warm with the slight chill in the air. "Because I'm a Northerner, I have been drinking since I was 15 and I am a full time Soldier. I have a steel stomach." I explain light-heartedly and she giggles adorably. "That's so not fair." She whines playfully, making me laugh as we are crossing over the bridge. "Stop pouting." I call her out, knowing she is pouting without having to turn and look at her. "How did you know!?" She complains in surprise, making my laughter only grow louder. "Because I know my girlfriend." I reply easily, making her giggle shyly. "Your so cute." She mumbles, lazily kissing my cheek. "And your so drunk." I tease, causing her to look up from my neck. "Am not. Are too.. Am not! I love you." We go back and fourth before I catch her by surprise, making her instantly giggle again. She is too cute tonight.
"Awe.. I love you too!" She tells me when her giggling dies down. I can't help but laugh lightly, and slightly out of breath as I make my way up the slight hill infront of the Hotel. Thankfully, it doesn't take too long before we make it to the front doors. Lizzie quickly jumps down from my back when we do, rushing to grab my free hand and lead us up to our room. When we get inside, Lizzie puts the bag of food down on the bed before slumping back beside it with a sigh. I slip my shoes off, laughing at her completely relaxed state before I kneel down infront of her and help her to take off her heels. She quickly sits up, looking down at what I am doing as I undo the strap on her high heels. I look up and see her shy smile as she watches me, my suit jacket still sitting over her shoulders. "Your so sweet Harley.." She mumbles as I slip off her second heel and put it with my shoes before joining Lizzie on the bed and turning our attention to the food infront of us. We get comfortable on the bed and open up the boxes, sharing some pizza and chips, before I turn my attention to the kebab I bought. It's been so long I've had one and I couldn't resist. "I'm scared to ask what that is.." Lizzie frowns slightly as she looks at the box infront of me. "To be honest, I don't think you want to know. But if you want some, feel free." I joke back, making her giggle as she shakes her head. "I'll pass." We both burst out laughing before finishing as much food as we can eat, moving the rest out of the way onto the small table across the room and then start getting ready for bed. "I'm going to have a quick shower.." I tell Lizzie, who instantly jumps up and follows behind me. "No funny business!" I tease over my shoulder and Lizzie quickly giggles and nods her head in agreement before we share a quick PG shower and then climb into bed together. "So, how was your first night in the Toon?" I tease in my accent, making her blush and giggle in bed beside me. "It was amazing! Thank you for taking care of me Harley. I love you so much, and thank you for a perfect day." She rambles adorably as her eyes fall heavy. "I'm glad you've had a good day baby. I love you too." I quickly reply as I pull her close so she can fall asleep. "Goodnight My sweet, caring and perfect Soldier.." She lazily mumbles into my chest. "Sweet dreams My beautiful Girl.." I reply easily before giving in to my own tiredness as I feel Lizzie fall asleep in my arms.
A perfect end, to our first Valentines Day.. Hopefully our first of many together.
