~~Friday Morning, London~~
Normal POV
"Argh fuck!" The sound of my alarm this morning is worse than being in the middle of a warzone right now. My ears are instantly ringing as I reach over and search for my phone, but instead of finding it, my body rolls over and finds the floor. My body crashing from the metal bunk, only adding to the pain I am feeling from my slight hangover. Today is already off to a horrible start and it's not even 6:00am. I groan and push myself off the floor, the pounding in my head getting worse, and right now I don't know if it is from the amount of alcohol I drank last night or from when my face opened my door. I finally find my phone to turn off my alarm before pulling myself back onto my bed, squinting past the bright screen to check for any messages I have as I let my body wake up slowly. I find some messages from Dad and Maisie, as well as some from Tom. I make a mental note to answer them later when I am a lot more awake before seeing some messages from Lizzie. I push through the pain in my head to open them now, smiling as I read through them. As much as I hated the arguement we had last night over the phone, I can't help but smile when I read her messages. The first one being an apology for what happened over the phone, then the rest teasing me from our last phone call. Which I can barely remember right now, but I can only imagine how I sounded. I deffinently drank a little too much at the bar, but it's just what I needed after the past two weeks and then last night as a whole. I make sure to send Lizzie a quick good morning message before checking to see if Natalia and Christian got home okay. Thankfully, I have some messages from them to confirm they are at the Hotel so I add them to the list to reply too late before deciding on skipping out on my morning run today and going straight for a shower to try and wake me up for the long day I have. A ghost of a smile on my face remembering it is in fact my last day, but it is going to be the longest one yet. I'm going to need at least a gallon of coffee to get me through it. Come on Harley.. You can do this. I hype myself up as I reach the bathroom, getting my shower started, switching it to a slightly colder setting, hoping it will get rid of my tiredness and get me ready for the day.
I make it to the conference room with my second cup of coffee in hand and papers in the other. Thankfully, skipping my morning run meant I had time to grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich before having to come and set up for the day. And it was exactly what I needed. I set my coffee down on the desk and get the room ready for the day, knowing it is going to be mainly paper work, there is not a lot to do other than make sure everyone has all the papers they need infront of them when they arrive. Once it is all set up, I sit back at my desk and hug my coffee as I finish off the last few bits of paperwork from yesterday, my eyes starting to settle more and more as my headache seems to be fading away extremely slowly. It's not long after I finish catching up on the paperwork infront of me before the group begin to filter into the room. Saying a quick good morning as they take their seats, a few of them giving me a knowing grin as they see my tired state but they don't make any comments just yet. Once everyone is sitting down ready to get started, I force myself up from my chair to get us going. A few of the group have some things they want me to go over again so that keeps us busy for the majority of the morning. We make sure everyone is confident on what we have covered before I finally hand out the final pieces of paperwork to get everyone going. I make sure everyone is ready to go then get them started. The room falls pretty much silent so I take the opportunity to finish my coffee as I reply to some messages on my phone since I am no longer needed, making sure to keep an eye on everyone as I do. When the time hits 12:00, I ask the group if they want to stop for a quick lunch break but instead they all decide on just working through, knowing they will get done a lot sooner that way so I leave them to it and get myself comfortable for the last two hours they have to complete the work. Unfortunatley, my headache is back by this point so I make sure to drink plenty of water as I keep myself busy on my laptop catching up on e-mails and other little things. The last hour seems to drag but eventually, it hits 14:00 hours and I gently stand up and bring everyone to a stop.
"Alright, how did we all get on?" I ask the group, who confidently tell me they managed to get it all done. I smile and nod proudly, thankful to have a good group again this time around. "Great, so make sure you have signed all the papers, place them in order and then your free to get going." I tell them and they quickly pack up their things. "You'll get notified when the paperwork is all done to let you know how you've all got on in the next couple of weeks. But I'm pretty confident in you all so don't stress too much about it." I add and they all laugh and talk amongst themselves as they finish packing up their things before standing up behind their chairs. I stand up infront of them all, feeling slightly more awake but still not completely back to normal. "Thank you for being a great group guys, you have all made my job so much easier. Keep up the good work alright." I dismiss them all and they slowly filter out one by one, handing me their papers and thanking me for the course. I love seeing them feeling so confident about how they have done, one of the perks of doing these types of courses. Once they are all gone, I slump back down in my chair behind the desk, putting the papers to one side and laying my head back as I rub my palms over my slightly puffy eyes. Luckily, I don't have to go through all the questions, but I do have to go through and make sure it is all signed properly and make sure everything is packed away together. Hopefully it won't take too long. I let out a heavy sigh before sitting forward at the desk to get started, knowing I have a flight to get too today. I get about half way through before getting a surprise knock at the door, snapping me out of my daze. I quickly call whoever it is inside, glancing over to see the familiar Uniform. "Good afternoon Lane." Charlie greets as he lets himself in. "Good afternoon Sir." I reply, slowly getting up from my seat to address him properly. "At ease Lane." He quickly returns before handing me a fresh cup of coffee. The smell alone enough to wake me up again. Just what I need to get me through the last of this paperwork.
"How you getting on?" Charlie asks, leaning back against the first set of tables infront of my desk as I hug my hands around the warm cup. "Nearly there thankfully. The group worked through Lunch so I got an early jump on all this." I explain and he hums in reply. "Good to hear. Are you heading back to London today or L.A.?" He questions with a small grin, making my own smile grow behind my coffee. "L.A. It's Lizzie's birthday tomorrow so I'm on a flight tonight." I reply and his smile grows at my words. "Looking forward to being back over there?" He asks with a knowing look, making me chuckle as I nod my head. "Deffinently. I mean, don't get wrong, I love being at home in London with Dad and Maisie. But spending my time with Lizzie is something I never thought I would want as much as I do." I add and he grins with a low chuckle. "It's good seeing you giving so much time to something other than work Harley. You deserve to have someone at home who makes you feel like that." He gushes and I can't help the huge grin that takes over my face. "It's different, but so is she." I admit and he nods his head softly. "She sounds it. Enjoy every second Harley. We never know what is coming.. You know that better than anyone." He adds gently, making my smile falter but I know he is right. "I know. I plan on making this work." I reply confidently, making us both smile again. "You better! Or I'll kick your arse." He jokes, making me laugh and shake my head. "I'd like to see you try old man." I shoot back, making him just laugh in defeat. "Get your work done first so your not late for your flight. Need a ride to the Station?" He offers and I quickly smile and nod my head. "If you don't mind Captain?" I tease a little, making him shoot me a look. "Your on thin ice Lane. What time?" He teases back, making me chuckle under my breath. "Should be ready by 15:00 hours." I answer and he nods with a small grin. "See you then Cap." He says playfully as he leaves the room. I can't help but laugh as I drink my coffee and power through the rest of the paperwork, wanting to be out of here and on my way to the Airport. As much as I hate the long flight to L.A. I can't wait to get back to Lizzie.
As soon as I drop the paperwork off at the main office, I jog across the training field and get back to my bunk. I am already running behind on time so I rush around to finish packing my bags, not having any time to change so I just concentrate on getting my bags ready before hearing the truck outside. I do one last sweep of my room and bathroom before grabbing my bags and carrying them outside. Charlie meets me at the door, grabbing a bag from my hand to load up for me. Thankfully, as soon as I get back to L.A, I can lose one of my three bags when I give Lizzie all her presents. Once they are all in the back of the truck, I climb in the front and Charlie gets us going. "Lizzie is going to be one happy girl when you get off that plane." Charlie teases as he tugs at my Uniform. "It has it perks I suppose." I joke back, making him nod and laugh knowingly. Everyone loves a Soldier in Uniform. "How's your head?" He asks, pressing his finger into the bruise that has formed since last night. "Argh! Dickhead!" I swat his hand away, making him laugh as he carries on driving towards the Train Station. "It's fine, just hurts to touch it!" I answer, making him chuckle. "Shouldn't get drunk and fall over should we?" He teases, and I just huff and punch his arm. "Alright touchy.. But seriously, it's not like you being that drunk. What happened?" He asks a little more seriously, knowing me too well at this point. "I had a spat with Lizzie on the phone. So I went a little too hard." I admit, never needing to hide anything from Charlie. He's like a second Dad to me and knows what I try to lie to him so there is no point in even trying. "Still struggling with the distance thing?" He asks further. "Sometimes. But she has had some questionable exes who have made her struggle to trust people.. I don't blame her at all for it. I blame them for treating her so badly in the past. But at the same time, it comes between us more than I thought it would." I ramble a little and Charlie just hums along as he listens. "I've gave her no reason not to trust me, but when I am so far away, she struggles a lot more than when we are in the same Country." I add and he gently nods his head, taking a minute to try and find the right response.
"I get that. It's got to be hard for both of you.. The only thing that will make it easier is time and patience. I know you have all the patience in the World, but I also know how hard it is to be accused of something your not. Just give her time, she will realise your not like them soon. Then it will be like all these little arguements never happened." He assures me, and his words are always comforting. I just hope he is right on this one. "I know, I just hate little arguements like that. I just hope they calm down.." I add and he smiles and pats my shoulder. "They will. With time and effort, they will Harley. I guarentee it." He comforts and I nod and smile at his words before we soon arrive at the Train Station. He parks up and we climb out, grabbing my bags as we get a few looks since we are both still in Uniform. "Stay safe over in L.A. Lane. But enjoy yourself. Don't let anything come between you both alright?" Charlie pretty much tells me and I smile at his words. "I will Charlie. Thank you." I quickly reply before he pulls me into a quick hug and then hands me my bags from the floor. "Let me know when you land Harley." He orders with a stern Dad-look. "I always do Old-man!" I call back, making us both laugh as he waves me off before climbing back in the truck. I make my way into the Station and find my platform, finding somewhere to grad some food and drinks to take onto the train with me. Luckily, I get everything just as the train is pulling in so I find my seat, putting the bags above my head and then slumping down into my seat. I dig into my food just as we leave the Station, needing something to keep me going. I catch up on my messages as I eat, letting Dad and Maisie know I am on my way to L.A before doing the same with Tom. He quickly gets into conversation with me to catch up now I have more time to talk with him over text since he is on Set. Thankfully, I manage to stay awake being distracted on my phone and after what feels like a few minutes, the Train begins to pull into the Station. I quickly grab my bags and make sure I have everything before making my way off the train and heading for my next destination. Unfortunatley, it's a Friday. Which means everywhere is busy. This is going to be fun..
I finally make it to the Airport with little time to spare, so I go check in with my bags, thankfully there is not much of a queue so I manage to get it done quite quickly and make my way to my gate. As much as Lizzie wanted to book me a first class ticket, I didn't let her and instead compromised and got myself a Business Class seat. I love her for wanting to take care of me, but I have always hated it when people try and buy things for me or pay for things. I know she has way more money than I do, but none of that matters to me. I'm just glad she understands and doesn't take it badly when I pay for myself. I don't have a huge amount of time to wait for my flight, but before I can find myself somewhere to sit and wait, I am stopped by someone walking past me. "Excuse me, your Harley Lane right?" I look to the young girl, she can't be older than 18. I glance behind her and see her parents standing not too far away watching her closely before I nod my head with a small smile. "That's me." I quickly reply happily, seeing her eyes widen with excitement. "Can I get a picture with you? I'm a huge fan of you and Lizzie, I love you both together!" She quickly rambles and I can't help but smile widely at how happy she is meeting me. I mean, I'm just me. I'm no Celebrity. "Uhm, sure." I answer a little taken back as she waves her Dad over to take the picture. He takes a couple to be sure before the girl rushes to take a look at them on her phone as her Dad comes to shake my hand. "Thank you for this." He whispers with a small smile which I return easily. "It's no problem at all." I quickly reply before turning back to the young girl. "What's your name?" I ask and she giddily looks up at me. "Cara." She answers with a beaming smile. "It's nice to meet you Cara. Make sure you tag me or Lizzie in the picture if you post it on Instagram so she I can show her when I get to L.A." I add and she excitedly nods her head in reply. "OMG really? You'll show her?" I nod my head with a slight chuckle. "Of course I will. That's where I am flying too now to see her." I tell her and she is practically bouncing with happiness. "Can you tell her I said Hi and that she is amazing please?" I quickly say yes with a beaming smile to match hers. "Of course I will." After some more small talk, I say goodbye as Cara's family usher her to catch their flight. Leaving me to do the same, smiling at the thought of making someone's day better just by saying hello like that. Lizzie really does have some great fans.
~~Friday Morning, L.A.~~
Lizzie POV
I couldn't help but wake up with the biggest smile on my face today, knowing Harley is flying to L.A today. I can't wait to see her, it feels like she has been working for more than two weeks. As much as I am glad we got the chance to talk after our arguement last night, I still have the niggling feeling of guilt from what happened. I should never have treat her the way I did. I know she would never hurt me, especially like that. She has given me no reason to not trust her, so I know it is me who needs to change. I just hope she forgives me when we do finally have the chance to talk. Thankfully, seeing a good morning message on my phone when I woke up settled some of my worries seeing that she can remember some of our conversation. I just hope I can talk to her before she goes to the Airport. I still have the slight fear of her not wanting to come to L.A. I just need to know she is still coming today. I get ready for a day on Set, knowing I am there for most of the day so I make sure what I am wearing is what I want to wear to pick Harley up in later. I make sure to pack up everything I need in my bag before going into the kitchen to make something for breakfast and a much needed coffee. It's going to be a long day, but it will be so worth it when I get to see Harley again. I go through some messages as I sit at the table to eat some fruit and yoghurt, part of me wanting to hear from Harley so I can ring her before her flight. I have no idea what time she is going to be finished today since she wasn't sure herself, but I know her flight is between 6 and 7 tonight, London time. Which is around 10:00am here in L.A. I quickly glance up at the time on my phone, seeing it is nearing that now and my chest tightens a little at the thought of her not coming today. Not only because of last night, but if she misses her flight, there is not another one until tomorrow. As selfish as it sounds, I really want her here for my Birthday. And I know she wants to be here for it too since she felt bad about us missing Valentine's Day. I nervously tap the bottom of my spoon on the table as I find myself watching every minute pass, my food suddenly forgotten about until my screen suddenly switches from my messages to a picture of Harley as she is ringing me. My thumb not hesitation to swipe across to answer before I bring the phone to my ear.
"Hi Angel!" I answer happily, making her chuckle lightly down the phone. "Hey Baby.." She quickly replies, making my smile grow impossibly bigger just hearing her voice. "Are you okay?" I question, already I can tell she is tired just by her voice. "I have a horrible headache, and I am very tired.." She answers easily and I can't help but feel so bad for her. She has an 11 hour flight coming, I hope she does anyway, and she is already so exhausted. "I'm not surprised." I say a little nervously, wanting to ask where she is but a part of me is scared to find out. "I still can't remember some of our phone call last night." She adds, laughing lightly. "You actually rang Ashley." I add, giggling along with her. "Oh shit.." She sighs out, making me just giggle more at her hungover state. As cute as she was last night on the phone, I hate the idea of her suffering with a hangover. But then even more guilt creeps in as I think about more of what happened, and why she did drink so much. "Harley... I'm so sorry about what happened yesterday.." I begin to ramble, but she gently cuts me off before I can go any further. "It's okay Lizzie. I understand why you reacted the way you did." She tells me softly, settling some of my worry. "It's not fair on you to keep doing this.." I begin again but I choke up slight on my words, letting Harley cut in again. "Baby, can we, talk about it when I'm with you, rather than over the phone right now?" She asks sweetly, letting me know she does want to talk about this, just not right now. "Are we okay?" I quickly make sure to ask her, hoping we are. "Yes, we are more than okay. I just, I want to sleep a bit on this flight so I feel better when I get to you, then we can talk about it properly." She reassures me, and instantly all my fear fades as she tells me we are not only okay, but she is waiting for her flight to come to L.A. My body relaxes instantly, knowing she will be here later today. "Yeah okay, good idea." I add smiling again. "Are you still picking me up?" She asks and I can't help but giggle at her tired voice. "Of course I am Soldier." I quickly assure her, I wouldn't have it any other way considering she has been working hard these past two weeks and then flying straight to L.A to be with me for my Birthday. There's no way I'm not picking up My Soldier.
"There's no delays so far, so I should be there around 21:00 hours" Harley explains and I can't help but giggle at her Military timing. I love how it sounds coming from her. I almost forget to reply. "I can't wait.." I mumble out a little shyly, making her chuckle, obviously knowing the effect she has one me. "Me neither baby." She adds sweetly, making my heart race again in my chest. I just want to be back in her arms again so badly. I glance up at the time, seeing I need to get going for work already. "I have to go so I'm not late for work, but I will see you really soon Harley." I say softly, hating not being able to talk to her longer. But I know her flight will be due really soon too. "You will baby. Drive safe and make sure to take care of yourself at work." She tells me like always, making my smile impossibly bigger at her sweet and caring words. "I will, I promise. I love you Harley." I tell her confidently, feeling so much better just from one phone call with her. "I love you Elizabeth Chase." She replies easily, my heart glowing instantly in reply. We say goodbye and then I come off the phone, needing to quickly finish my breakfast before driving to Set. I wash away my bowl and coffee cup when I am finished and then make sure I have everything in my bag for work. Once I have everything, I lock up the house and head for my car, driving to Set through the horrible Friday L.A traffic. We are filming on location again today, using a café and a record shop not too far away from the Studio. As soon as I arrive, I park up and then head straight for the small trailer set up for hair and make-up. I greet everyone inside before quickly changing into my clothes for the shoot and then get my hair and make-up done. One of the team bring me another cold coffee to keep my going as I talk with the team about my plans for the weekend. They all gush over my excitement to see Harley later today, knowing it is my Birthday and how much I have already been gushing about seeing Harley this week on Set. Zack soon joins us to get ready for the day since it mostly just us on Set at the café, which means today should be pretty stress free since he is great to work with. We say a quick hello through the mirror whilst I get my make up done before we are ushered out into the café to get started for the day.
"Okay guys, that is a wrap for today and this week!" One of the crew announces. "But remember we are needed up at the Studio for a brief meeting in an hour guys!" He adds and instantly I sigh, forgetting about the meeting until now. I glance up at the wall, seeing the time, thankfully we managed to get everything done today without any major hiccups so I have time before needing to go and get Harley. I make my way out to the trailer to remove my on-screen make up so I can get changed and ready for picking up Harley. I get changed back into my clothes, hanging up what I wore on Set before coming out to see some of the team still around the trailer. "Hey Liz." They quickly greet as I walk out the small changing room. "Hey you two, do you mind if I use your mirrors to get ready?" I ask sweetly, making them just laugh. "Of course, you don't have to ask." They quickly reply and I smile thankfully before sit down and apply some light make-up and let my hair down from how it was tied up today. "Do you want me to curl your hair whilst my curlers are still out of their box Liz?" Jess, one of the hair and make-up teams comes behind me and asks softly, making me giggle looking through the mirror as if it is against some rules for her to do my hair after work. "Do you not mind?" I ask softly, seeing her quickly shake her head as she is basically already ready to get started. "Not at all. I'd be happy too since I know your picking up Harley later." She teases as I sit back and get comfortable in the chair. "I am, I feel so bad for her travelling today and I didn't want her to be waiting around for a car.." I add and she quickly looks at me through the mirror with a confused look. "She has been teaching a Medical Course for the last two weeks at Pirbright Army Barracks. She has been teaching all day and then she has left straight from the Barracks to go to the Airport." I explain and she quickly smiles in understanding. "Your one very lucky girl Liz. Not many people would do that for someone, I'm lucky if my boyfriend makes me a coffee in the morning." Jess jokes, making us both laugh. "I'm a very lucky girl.. Harley is incredible." I gush and ramble about some of the many, MANY things Harley has done for me as Jess joins me easily.
"So will she still be in her Uniform when she arrives?" Jess teases, but my eyes widen at the thought of it being a possibility. "She does have to wear her Uniform whilst she teaches the Course, hopefully she didn't have time to change." I add and we both break out laughing. My heart racing a little faster as I think back to the times I have seen Harley in her Uniform. "Your all set Liz." Jess announces, snapping me from my thoughts as I look up into the mirror. "Thank you so much Jess, I love it." I quickly make sure to tell her as she puts her things away. "Enjoy your Birthday weekend Liz, I will see you Monday!" Jess yells as I head out to my car, running a little late for the meeting. I call back a quick thank you and goodbye before reaching my car and driving up to the Studio. I thankfully get there with a couple of minutes to spare so I decide to just leave my bag in my car and rush inside with my phone in hand. I see a message waiting for me from Harley, letting me know she is on the plane, my smile breaking out again seeing that she will be in the air and on her way already before I slip my phone into my pocket as I make may way to the meeting room. But as soon as I rush inside, I am quickly met by most of the cast and crew standing waiting for me, setting off party poppers and cheering when I walk through the door. "Happy Birthday!" They all cheer, scaring me a little as I freeze at the door. I look across the room and see so many smiling faces, some balloons and a cake on the table. "Awe!" I feel my eyes filling with happy tears as everyone comes to greet me with cards and presents. I thank everyone before they pull me over to the table to blow out my candles. "You all really didn't have to do this.." I try and complain but they all wave me off sweetly as I make my way around the room again as everyone grabs some cake. Kelly and Jovan come to my side as I am talking with Janet about my plans for the weekend, all of them listening as I talk about the BBQ my Mom has planned with the family. "So, no Harley?" Kelly quickly questions. "She is actually on a plane right now, I pick her up soon from the Airport." I tell them excitedly, making them all smile as they gush about how happy I look just at the mention of Harley's name. I'm not even sorry, My Soldier makes me happy!
After saying thank you to everyone after some cake and non-alcoholic drinks at the Studio, I say goodbye and Kelly helps me with my bags as I put them in my car before hugging Kelly goodbye. "Enjoy your amazing Birthday weekend with your Soldier." She teases, making me giggle. "Oh I will." I tease back, making her laugh as I get in my car and check that I have everything. "Drive safe!" She shouts as I reverse out the car park and wave as I pass her again to leave. I can't help the huge smile on my face, not only do I get to see Harley extremely soon, I have just had the sweetest surprise from everyone I work with. They are all amazing and I am so lucky to be working with such a great team. I turn my radio up, feeling on top of the World as I am already stuck in L.A traffic, but not even the car horns and flashing lights can dampen my mood right now. As I am stuck at a stand still, I take the opportunity to check Harley's flight online, making sure everything is okay. As soon as I open it up, I see that is less than an hour away. Thankfully, I am not too far away now so I close down my phone and get moving again with the traffic infront of me, not wanting to be late to see Harley. I can't help but sing loudly to myself in the car as the Sun sets over L.A. When I finally make it to the Airport, I find a parking space out of view from the main entrance, not wanting to be seen right now when I am alone. I check the time and see that Harley should have landed by now so I grab my sunglasses and phone, leaving my bag in the car and make my way out of the car and inside the Airport. I managed to slip in past a small crowd so no one could see me, making my way to the pick up point, an spring in my step as I get closer. I stand a little out of the way of everyone, not wanting to be recognised as I slip off my glasses when I spot a crowd of people walking towards the baggage claim. I don't have to search for long before I spot that very familiar khaki green Uniform. My eyes widening as I watch her grab her bags with ease before she turns to walk in my direction. I can't stop my feet from carrying me away from where I was slightly hidden away as I take off in a rushed walk towards My Soldier.
"Harley!" I shout as her eyes are yet to find me yet, instantly her head turns in my direction just in time before I throw myself into her arms. She drops her bags and catches me easily, lifting my up as my legs wrap around her body. I bury my head into her neck as she does the same in my shoulder, one arm holding me up as her other is wrapped around my back to hold me close. I take in everything about her, my hands gripping onto her Uniform jacket as if she is going to disappear if I let go. I can feel her pounding heart beat against my chest, how fast it is racing with me back in her arms. "I've missed you so much.." I mumble into her neck, making her laugh lightly before I feel her slowly lean her head back from my shoulder. I do the same, slowly letting my eyes meet hers. "I missed you too baby." She replies easily, my eyes stinging with happy tears as I catch Harley blink hers away from her eyeline. I don't waste anymore time and crash my lips into hers, missing the feeling even more now she is infront of me. We share a quick, but intense kiss before I pull away to catch my breath. "It's so good to have you back in my arms baby." Harley whispers into the small space between us, and all I can do is giggle shyly before pecking her lips a few more times. "Come on, let's get you home." I finally manage to whisper, making her beaming smile shine even brighter as she carefully lets me back down on my feet so she can grab her bags. I take one for her, seeing three pretty big bags next to her now. I use my free hand to hold onto Harley's arm as we make our way outside. We make it out without any interuptions, so I lead us to where I parked my car, opening the boot for Harley to put her bags into. As soon as they are in the boot, Harley closes it before reaching for my hands and pulling me close again. "Hi by the way." She teases, making me giggle as she pulls me into her arms. "Hello to you too Soldier." I mumble near her ear, my arms wrapped around her neck. We share a tight cuddle before I pull her into the car so we can get home from a very long day. I wait for Harley to buckle up then pull away from the Airport, Harley's hand finding my leg as I concentrate on getting us through the traffic, music playing softly into the car as a small, comfortable silence falls between us for the drive home.
~~Friday Night, L.A.~~
Normal POV
It feels so good to have Lizzie back in my arms. Seeing her reaction in the airport was more than I could ever ask for. She couldn't get to me quick enough. I know we got seen and pictured together, but I didn't mention it to Lizzie, not wanting to ruin how happy we both are being back together again. The drive home from the Airport was slow, but being with Lizzie made it all worth while. She caught me up on her day, telling me about the surprise she walked into after filming. Her face so bright and happy as she gushes about her team at work. I couldn't help but match her smile hearing all about it. When she finished telling me about her day, I told her about mine, talking about the day at work before making sure to tell her about the girl I met in the Airport, Cara. She smiled so sweetly when I told her about it, and we made a metal note to watch out for the picture on Instagram so Lizzie can surprise her and send her a message in reply since she wasn't there to talk to her in person. It didn't take too long to finally arrive at Lizzie's place, the sight alone making my body relax instantly knowing I am back again. We both got out the car and made our way to the boot to grab the bags we both had with us, it took us two trips with all the bags Lizzie had from the cast and crew at work, but eventually we got is all into the living room before Lizzie locked up behind us. As soon as she put her keys down, she was rushing back into my arms again. I instantly lift her into my body, wanting to just hold her. "I hate missing you Harley Lane." She mumbles, making me chuckle in reply. "I know baby." I whisper in reply before letting her back down to her feet. "Come on, let's shower and change so you can get some much needed sleep." Lizzie whispers and I nod lazily in reply. I let Lizzie take my hand and guide me to the bathroom after I got out of my boots and left them near the front door. Lizzie started the shower off before turning back around to help me undress. "I hate having to take this off you Soldier." She teases as she tugs at my Uniform. "I'd wear it everyday for you if I could." I tease back, making her giggle behind her tinted cheeks as I get out of my clothes, Lizzie doing the same, before we both get in and under the hot water.
After the very PG shower together, I follow Lizzie out of the bathroom and into her room, instantly going to the draws I already have clothes in hoping to find something to wear for bed so I don't have to go into my bags in the other room until tomorrow. Thankfully, I find more than enough clothes so I slip into some boxers, shorts and a t-shirt before drying off my hair with the towel. I go back into the bathroom, putting away the towel and then brushing my teeth so I can climb into bed. I drop down on top of Lizzie's bed, my body instantly deflating as my head hits the pillows. I catch Lizzie giggling at me before she soon joins me and pulls the blanket over us both. "Do you want anything to eat?" Lizzie asks sweetly, and although all I want to do is sleep, I can't deny how hungry I am since I didn't eat on the plane. "As long as your ordering something in, I don't want you cooking so late after a long day." I mumble lazily, making her giggle as she waves her phone infront of me, letting me know she had the same idea. We decide on what we want to order before I feel Lizzie put her phone down and turn to face me. I do the same, propping myself up on my elbow to meet her soft gaze already looking back at me. "Should we talk now or would you like to wait?" She asks nervously. "Let's do it now so we can put it behind us." I quickly reply, making her relax a little as I lay back on my pillows, letting Lizzie move closer as she rests her free hand on my chest. "I'm so sorry for the way I spoke to you Harley, you didn't deserve any of it. I jumped to the wrong conclusion without giving you any chance to finish your explanation.." Lizzie begins and I hate feeling how tense and upset she is, but I know we need to get this all out sooner rather than later. "Thank you. I understand completely why it happens, but I want you to know that I am not them. I never have been and never will be. I will never hurt you baby." I reassure her, catching a hint of a smile as she listens to my words. "I know that deep down Harley. I promise, I will get better at it. Because I don't want to lose you over something that wasn't your fault." She adds and I smile at her words, seeing this is not something that will last forever.
"Your not going to lose me baby. It will take time and a little patience, that's all." I assure her, remembering Charlie's words from earlier today. "I love you so much Harley.. Thank you for being so understanding." Lizzie leans up, kissing my lips quickly. "I love you too Elizabeth Chase. We're a team. We do all this together, the good and the bad." I quickly add, making her beaming smile creep back before pulling her into my arms as she lets her body melt into my own. We stay laying like this before our food arrives. "I'll get it." Lizzie jumps up, her body wrapped in a bathrobe still as she goes to get the food for us. I lay back in the bed, feeling more than content right now after being able to talk about everything without shouting and arguing. We are deffinently getting better at this. We share out the food between us, letting the TV play in the background as we talk about anything and everything between mouthfuls. Just being happy to be together again before I help Lizzie clear everything away into a bag that she offers to take to the kitchen. I lay back on the pillows and watch for her to come back, my eyes never leaving the door until she walks through looking stunning as always. She glides her way back into the room, but before she climbs back into bed, she stops with a small nervous look spreading across her face. I roll onto my side to face her properly, worried something is wrong. "Are you alright baby?" I ask, only now noticing she has one hand behind her back. "I have two surprises for you.." She practically whispers, making me raise a slightly confused eyebrow in return. "The first is in this bag.." She begins to explain, placing the bag from behind her back on the bed. I glance between her eyes and the bag, wondering where this is going right now. "And the second is just a little something I want you to see but I promise, I'm not initiation anything, I just couldn't wait any longer to wear it for you." My eyes widen as Lizzie slowly unties her bathrobe, letting it drop to her feet to reveal the lingerie set I bought her for Valentine's Day. I lose the ability to breathe as I let my eyes take in every inch of her. She is an actual angel..
"Wow.." I finally breathe out, making her giggle adorably as she is still standing to let me take her in. "What do you think?" She teases, turning around to let me get an even better look. I swear she is trying to kill me off right now. "Your so fucking beautiful Elizabeth Chase.." I tell her without hesitation, my eyes dropping down her body as she turns around again, the light blue and white against her skin looks amazing. "Thank you Soldier." She whispers, slowly climbing into bed without the bathrobe. Why do I have to be so tired.. I am going to struggle to keep my hands to myself tonight. "Like I said, I don't expect anything tonight, your exhausted and I've had a long day too so please don't think.." Lizzie begins to ramble so I gently wrap her in my arms and pull her close, kissing her gently to stop her talking before pulling away to meet her gentle gaze. "Baby, you have nothing to explain. Trust me, I wish I wasn't so tired right now, but I very much appreciate the gesture so thank you. You look amazing and I feel very lucky to have you in my arms tonight. Sex or no sex." I quickly comfort her, seeing her nerves wash away with my words as she takes her bottom lip between her teeth, her cheeks blushing an intense red shade. "Your such a sweet talker Harley Lane." She whispers, her fingers tracing patterns up and down my jawline. We share a few kisses and compliments before she quickly remembers her other present, handing it to me to open with tired eyes. I sit up slightly to open the small box that I take out of the bag, not having any idea what it could be. My eyes quickly find a really nice Black and khaki green watch. I look up and see a small smile on Lizzie's face, my smile growing as I look back down. "Lizzie this is-" I begin but I lose my words. "Do you like it?" She asks a little nervously, but I am still in awe of the watch. "It's incredible Lizzie.." I mumble as she takes it out of the box and looks up to my eyes. "Can I?" She asks sweetly. I nod my head and take off my Military watch, letting her replace it with my new one. "It matches your bracelet.." She whispers shyly, making me chuckle at how adorable she is. "It does perfectly baby, thank you." I reply softly, making her beaming smile return with ease. "Your very welcome Soldier." As much as I hate gifts, how can I be mad at someone so sweet and adorable. "Ready for bed?" She asks, and all I can do is nod. The tiredness creeping up on me more and more.
My head barely hits the pillow, Lizzie's head laying on my chest, before I feel my eyes close softly.. And just like that, I'm home again.
