It is I, the disappearing and unstable author that almost gave up on this story(and her life if we're being honest xD).
This story has been such a rollercoaster and I hold it very close to my heart (even more so than my first book). I first got the idea of a sunshine heroine when my parents were both hospitalised with covid, all the anxiety and all the stress of finances and their deteriorating health (they're better now, Thank God) just demanded escapism and I created the persona of sunshine personified. All I had in my head when I started this story was the name Eclaire Vanille Adams and everything after that was just a blur (cool way of saying I pulled the storyline out my ass and went with it). Even the title Serendipity was supposed to be temporary till I came up with something better but alas that never happened.
I just knew I wanted to write a Draco fanfic and give him a redemption arc and to show that he had changed because humans are capable of change. Contrary to popular belief, I strongly believed Draco's opposite would not be a Gryffindor but a Hufflepuff (a muggle one at that) since I very distinctly remember young Draco saying he'd just leave if he was sorted into Hufflepuff on the train. He's still that brooding gloomy person but his cockiness and confidence were stripped from him because of the war, in its place is a man with walls built around him, a mouth that spews venom but inside him is just a kid that was thrown into the dark side too young, his innocence robbed. I hope I did an acceptable job at portraying that.
And Eclaire, all I wanted her to be was sunshine. Just literal sunshine and I'm glad you guys seemed to love her ♡
This story has helped me improve vastly as a writer to the point where I wish to write another story. But I'm lost. I don't know if it should be another fanfiction or a general romance (I think I would be better at writing smut now xD)
