THIRD PERSON'S POV.

Midnight club stands as  one of the biggest and most expensive clubs in the city. It remains a hot spot for exclusive and expensive night life with their clientele consisting of celebrities, the wealthy, and those who have the ability to get in in one way or another.  One could get in fast with recommendation which is no problem for Carolina since her family had great connections. The club preceded its reputation as one of the most exclusive and expensive clubs in the city. It's interior simple but sophisticated. The atmosphere and the vibe matching the elusive theme they were gunning for with fewer people than the regular clubs and the sound was not killing Katherine at every second.

The dance floor was filed with sweaty bodies grinding against their chosen partners. Katherine was pulled by her  Carolina who was familiar with the layout, as they navigated their way to the VIP section. Katherine could admit that the club was definitely more high end and fancy looking than the other clubs she's been to thanks to Carolina.

"Where are we going!" Katherine shouted trying to get her words across to Lina over the blaring music.

"VIP!" Carolina shouted back.

Carolina gestured to an entrance behind a well set red carpet like barricade at the corner before pulling Katherine along. Katherine decided to shut up and let Carolina take her to wherever they are supposed to let loose for the night. The entrance that hid behind a red velvet curtain led to a long hallway. At the end of the hallway was an elevator that was guarded by the typical scary looking man in a black suit and black sunglasses.
As they headed towards the elevator Carolina raised her phone showing one of the guards something displayed on her screen. He nodded his head before pressing the button, and the elevator dinged open before he motioned for them to get in.

Kate muttered a small thank you before getting in.
The door closed back and the elevator started going down.

"The VIP is an underground club!" Carolina announced happily. "Isn't that awesome?"

"Yeah. It is." Katherine had to admit that an underground club is kind of cool.

"They sure know how to make their VIP feel special. They let us go through the normal club with the norms and then lead us to an underground club. I'd admit, that is a great strategy." Carolina nodded to herself. "This is good for you. For us. God knows I could do with letting out of some steam. It's been a while"

"Maybe you are right." Katherine agreed with her.

It's no news that Katherine doesn't enjoy clubbing. She loves a good party but the quite loud sounds, sweats and other bodily fluids and the sights of people grinding against each other does not appeal to her on any level but Carolina was right. This was good for her. Katherine might tell herself that she was fine, that she was over the man she'd given more than a year of her life to, the man who had been cheating on her with her own blood sister and last Saturday she had to watch get engaged to her sister. It had hurt. It had hurt like hell.

It was time for her to get out there. She was never out there to begin with but she could start now. Not all relationship had to be the one, that doesn't mean it won't be meaningful.

I'm not going to be so hung up on one failed relationship. Carolina is right I should let my hair down sometimes. I should be bold and have fun. Katherine determined within herself.
Katherine had always been the sensible child. It wasn't going to be her sister. She was aware that her sensibility had always assured her father. While her sister had been sneaking in college guys through her bedroom window in high school, Katherine had been preparing for her coming classes. She hadn't wanted to live like her sister and her mother, and most importantly she hadn't wanted to add to her father's heartache.
