CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN: CASPIAN V CAROLINA.

"I really don't know why you brought him with you." Carolina glared at Caspian who just stared at her with disinterest and I knew it just infuriated her more.

Today was the day I and Carolina decided to check out the work on the new Cafe building. I'm not one of those to complain and try to teach the contractors their jobs, but this job was hella slow. The things they promised to put in was not even halfway done and Carolina was already upset with them and now Caspian's presence.

Caspian had insisted he came with me. It was either that or I wouldn't go. According to him construction sites were too dangerous for me to be alone.

"Like I'm not annoyed enough." She glared at the blonde haired guy casually sipping his coffee without any care in the world then back at Caspain.

"You brought him here." I pointed out. I don't know what is going on between both of them but I know that there is something happening between them.

"It was a moment of weakness. One I regret very very much."

"You sure about that babe?" Lincoln came forward and stood besides carolina and she eyed him down. If looks could kill he'll be dead in the worst possible way. But he looks kinda...into it.

"I'm sure." She said before walking away to the middle aged contractor that was instructing his men.

"They are way behind schedule." I looked at the half completed construction. If we keep going at this pace, we won't meet the opening date.
This location was the ideal spot. We had the traffic and the monopoly of the area. There were small restaurants here and there and a few cafes but with the traffic, we'll be able to handle business smoothly.

But the sight of the uncompleted building only made me feel sick. I was freaking out, then I was sure as hell that Carolina is a few seconds from losing her mind and by the way she was talking to the contractor, it seemed like things would escalate pretty soon.

And on cue, Carolina ran her hand through her hair before taking a step towards the contractor who took a small step back. She put her hands on her waist. It seemed like the man said something in return and Katherine didn't like it one bit.

"I don't think I've made myself clear." Carolina took a step towards the man. Her voice was high enough for us to clearly hear her. "I swear to everything holy, I'll cancel our contract and bring someone who can do a better job." Then she let out strings of curses in spanish.

"Oh oh." Lincoln worried. "She's pissed."

Oh oh indeed. If I don't step in someone will either die or end up in a coma.

I immediately walked towards them and held Carolina's hand first. To an outsider it might look like a calming gesture and it is, but it was more than that. I could tell that she was a thread away from leaping at the man and tearing him out like a panther. The hold on her wrist was to restrain her.

"Getting a new contractor at the middle of a project. Good luck with that Senorita."

Oh my goodness!

Someone will die.

She tugged her hand away from mine and everything seemed to happen in slow motion. She pulled away from me and to the direction of the man.

"Caro-" I hadn't even gotten my word out and little fucking Mr contractor here will be dead soon.

Well goodbye. At least you died being the thing you love. A fucking asshole.

I tried to say him a prayer but he wasn't even in my normal list let alone my good list so I just wished him luck. As Carolina let out a roar and almost landed at the man face she was held back by Lincoln who pulled her towards him. His hands were wrapped around her torso. Her back to his chest as she thrashed against him.
