CHAPTER TEN: DINNER WITH THE MONTGOMERYS

THIRD PERSON'S POV.

Katherine used her palm to smoothen the invisible creases on the flare skirt of her knee length gown.
She couldn't help but feel self conscious but that was expected, since after all she would be having dinner with the Montgomerys.

The Montgomery was a large family. And they were not just any family. They were powerful and wealthy and on a whole different class.

Would they look down on her? Katherine thought.

They probably will.

Will they hate her?

Most likely ...

But Katherine knew she'll be herself no less. She was doing what she had to do for her little peanuts.

When their car got to the Montgomerys estate. Amazed was an understatement as Katherine's eyes widen at the magnificence of the property.

The main building was huge and covered acres of land. The pillars that held them had delicate statues carved on them. A large fountain stood at the middle of the the round about drive way. And Katherine could see green land stretch beyond.

Everything about the estate was intimadating. Kathrine looked at her fiancee that stood next to her, his expression was unchanged, Hard and cold.

Katherine could feel someone hold her hand. She looked down at her hand to see Caspian's large hand covering her soft ones. She decided to take strength from him. He gave her hand a small squeeze before pulling her along with him. Katherine immediately followed behind him.

Caspian could see how Katherine's eyes wandered around the property. She was intimadated. If it was up to him he would have her meet his family on the wedding day or not at all but he wanted to establish her place in his family, so no one messes with her and he also wanted to make it real. Caspian knew his family and what they could be capable of.

Caspain and Katherine headed into the building. The inside of the house was even more magnificent than the outside. The main theme of the inside was gold and white. Everything in the mansion showed power, extravagance and wealth.

Katherine wondered how many people could possibly live in the house.

A middle aged woman in a black and white uniform came towards them and bowed politely.

"Good evening Master Caspian. Good evening Miss." She greeted.

Caspian's face was unchanged while Katherine flashed the maid a small smile.

"The rest of the family are settled in the dinning room. Please -" Caspian's didn't wait for her to complete her words before he pulled Katherine along with him and headed for the dinning.

Katherine's eyes scanned the room they just entered. A huge dinning table sat at the middle of the room surrounded by seven chairs that were currently occupied with two empty chairs , one that sat at the other end of the table and the one by its right.

All eyes in the room turned to the couple that stood at the door. Everyone's eyes zeroed on the brown haired girl that stood besides him.
Their heart filled with judgement as  they assessed her.

Kathrine could feel them judging her. She closed her eyes for a second before taking deep breath. She expected Caspain to leave her hand but his hold on her hand tightened as he pulled her inside the room with him.

There were two chairs that sat unoccupied. One was at the head of the other end of the table and one that sat on the right of it.

Caspian pulled the chair that sat at the right side and turned to Katherine.
