THIRD PERSON'S POV.

"Thanks for letting me stay with you Lina." Katherine said.

"What? Are you kidding? In case you've forgotten, this is your apartment too."

Katherine couldn't help but smile even if it didn't reach her eyes. Carolina jaw clenched at the sight of her friend. She was already coming up with a thousand and one ways to kill her best friend's husband and she would have done it too if Katherine hadn't stopped her.

"Caspian is not good for you Katherine. I knew this from the very beginning." Hunter said angrily. Carolina glared at him, she wanted to kill him next. Carolina knew that Hunter was led by his feelings for Katherine.

To Carolina he had been a cowards and spent more than half of their friendship running away from that feeling and the other half watching her from the sidelines. Carolina didn't care for that.

"I can get you all the things in the world that you wish to eat." Hunter tried to pacify her.

"No. It's fine." Katherine politely rejected. She didn't feel like eating, she felt more like vomiting her guts.

"Eating a few pastries and wanting a few sweets doesn't make you a bad mother Kathy. It's Caspian's problem if he doesn't want you to eat them not yours."

Carolina almost pitied Hunter. Almost. But she didn't have the time or energy to do so because her attention was on something more important. Carolina knew Hunter could see it but he was just denying it or he really couldn't see it. This was more than pastries and sweet and Carolina knew that, she would keep quiet and let Katherine calm down before telling her but again she has never been the one to just keep quiet.

"This isn't just about the pastries, is it?"

Katherine looked down at her fingers that played with the hem of the throw pillow. Carolina was right, she could see through her. Even Katherine herself was not clear on what bothered her but she knew it was there. She just couldn't believe it.

"No. I don't think so." Her voice shook. A sheen of hot tears were already showing in her eyes. The thought it her feelings, angered her and saddened her all at once.

"Katherine." Carolina placed her hand over Katherine's.

"I can't believe myself right now." Katherine snarled as the tears rolled down her cheeks. "I can't believe that I... That I-" Katherine was reluctant to say it, to admit it.

"I didn't love him when I married him." It was more of a whisper to herself but her friends heard her.

"But you do now. Although I don't understand how and why that is." Carolina shook her head in disbelief because she really did wonder why someone like Katherine could ever fall for a man like Caspian.

"Me neither." Katherine tried to think back to when she started to understand him, to admire him, to like him. To...to love him.

"He's annoying and arrogant and cocky. He only does things the way he wants and doesn't think of anyone else. He always has to be right, he usually is. He is cold and cruel and stubborn. Very stubborn." Katherine said with clenched jaw. "He keeps things to himself and wouldn't let others help. He protects others even if he act like he doesn't." Katherine voice softens.

"He act like he doesn't care about anything or anyone but he's really the one who cares the most. He acts indifferent to his family but he protects them at all costs. He does things only the way he wants yet, he tries to explain himself to me. He's way too logical and spoils my favourite shows for me but he still stays and watches them until I fall asleep. He's controlling and overprotective, he always wants to know where I am and what I'm doing, it's annoying and everytime when I can see the genuine worry in his eyes." Katherine tried to call all the things she hated about him but that only made her love him more.
