Third person POV.

"She's pregnant?!"

Following Natalie's reaction was Elizabeth's.

Elizabeth Montgomery has always been known to be a calm woman, who carried herself with an elegance. She was born a princess and raised to be a queen. The aura and composure of a goddess, that had always been Elizabeth... But not at this moment.

"You are expecting a baby?!" Elizabeth turned to Katherine who tried to sink into a small invincible hole away from the eyes that were looking at her.

"I-i-i" Kathrine turned to Caspian for help who was sending death glares to his moron best friend.

"Mom-" Caspian was cut off by his mother.

"Don't try to shift my attention son. I heard Lincoln very clearly." Elizabeth said firmly trying to calm the excitement that was bubbling in her stomach and threatening an avalanche.

"I didn't mean pregnant. I-" Lincoln tried to salvage himself.

"Stop talking." Caspian warned.

"It's true isn't it?"

Kathrine could see the excitement in Elizabeth's eyes. The sparkle in them as she asked that question. Katherine knew she couldn't keep her pregnancy secret forever, it's one of the things in this world that was difficult to hide but this wasn't how she had imagined that she'll reveal her pregnancy.

"I think I was misheard, the babies-"

"Babies?" Now Elizabeth voice was down several octaves and her wide emerald eyes widen as she creepily stared at her daughter-in-law for an explanation.

Lincoln palmed his face for his stupidity.

"Maybe you should just stop talking." Lana gently advised.

"Leave." Caspian growled through clenched teeth.

"Want some whiskey?" Miles immediately asked and Lincoln couldn't be more glad to run away from that situation he had just caused.

"It's true." This time Elizabeth said matter of factly.

"I'm sorry, we didn't want you to know like this."

"What would you be sorry for? That charming idiot had blurted it out before you were ready to tell us honey, this isn't on you." She took Katherine's hand in hers.

"This is by far the best birthday gifts I could have ever gotten. I've been praying for a grandchild, now im getting grandchild!" She pulled Kathrine into a tight hug.

"Mom give her space to breathe." Caspian said as Elizabeth hugged kathrine tighter.

"I'm going to be an aunt!" Bianca could no longer control the excitement that she was feeling inside anymore.

The rest of the birthday dinner turned into that of congratulations and hugging... Well only Lana,  Elizabeth and Bianca could hug her, the others could only say congratulations from a distance due to a possessive husband's glare.

The Montgomerys family had been shocked about Caspian's wedding but the knowledge of the soon-to-be heirs of Caspian Montgomery was an even bigger shock.

Although others congratulations seemed out of normalcy, some said it with jealousy and not a lot of people were excited about the coming for the soon to be heirs, one person in particular was fuming as her hope we're seemed to be dashed against a rock.

VERONA'S POV.

"You can't just beat yourself up like this Vee." Natalie urged.

I did not pay her anh attention as I sunk deeper into my silk bedsheets.

"He's gone Nat. I'm not going to get him back." My heart felt heavy and talking seemed like a piece of work.

How could it happen?
I was going to make him mine again.

Caspian Montgomery was mine. I was the perfect fit for him and no one else. I had played a hand in my misfortune but that didn't mean I had to lose what I wanted the most.

No one else could deserve me, no one else is worth my hand except Caspian. I had a clear chance of getting him back even though he was married to some girl but she was pregnant, with twice.

Fate! Fate had played a cruel joke on me ! It wasn't fair! Am I supposed to lose my man just because of a a silly mistake?
Wasn't I good enough?
No! No! No!
I was good enough for him when I was his wife.
I was perfect.

I still am. I can't lose him. Caspian was mine. No woman could ever deserve him, especially not some girl.

I had tired to be perfect, to have the perfect body, the perfect shape, the perfect mindset, the perfect personality, to be the wife of Caspian Montgomery.

I was desired by men, they fell at my feet for my attention, but none of them are worth Verona Williams.
I had tasted what it was like to be the wife of Caspian Montgomery and more than any thing it was addicting an intoxicating.

Caspian didn't love me, I knew that. He had no heart that I could rule but I could rule his mind, I was working hard enough for it. Sebastian. That devil. I didn't know I was gonna get caught, some moments of weakness had rid me of my right.

"Come on Vee talk to me. You are scaring me."
I could hear Natalie's annoying wine.

I want to scream at her and kick her out. I was sure that she'll help me get back with Caspian, she was my connection to the Montgomerys but all the efforts I've spent on her now seemed wasted.

"I'm sure she did it to tie herself to my brother. I'm sure of it."Natalie spat with Venom.

My anger subsided at Nat's words. She hated Kathrine as much as I did. If I want it or not, she's still my only link to the Montgomerys, our ties with the Montgomerys had always been the Williams family only way to stay where we were.

I swallowed my scream and tried to surpress my irritation for the spoilt heiress.
If anyone is going to help me back, it's is still Nat, no matter how annoying or insignificant she might be, it doesn't change the fact that she is a Montgomery, the last daughter of the Montgomerys.

"Oh Nat! What I'm I going to do? I've lost him, I've lost the love of my life." I wailed.

"Vee." Nat's eyes laced with sympathetic tears.

She was always a cry baby. It was one of the things that annoyed me about her.

"I can't go on living Nat. I'll die and maybe in my next life, we'll finally be together."

"No don't say that Vee." Natalie pulled me into a hug as I stained her violet colored designer top with my tears.

"You love my brother I know it. That witch is with him just for his money and influence, she is no different from her slut of a sister." Nat seethed.

Verona couldn't help the corner of her lips rising up in a smile. There was hope after all, to get back what she had lost there was hope. Verona muttered a small thanks to Viviana, Katherine's sister. They had only crossed paths on few occasions but Viviana had stolen Nat's high school sweetheart and her hatred for the Lanes run deep including to her Sister-in-law, Katherine Lane.

This was a new war, one that I'm willing to fight to get back my crown.
