THIRD PERSON'S POV
Lincoln watched as Caspian downed down another glass of the liquid. This was the first time he had seen his friend look so... Confused? Or was it defeated? Lincoln wasn't sure what it was but it was a rare look on his face, one Lincoln hadn't seen since they were teenagers.
"You know," Lincoln started. "You could just apologize." Lincoln gluped down his saliva as Caspian sent him a cold hard glare.
"I know it may seem um-" Lincoln paused trying to find the right words. "- difficult or rather foreign to you but an apology always works." Lincoln advised but he could see that his friend was still at loss.
"Why should he apologize?" Vincenzo who had been drinking quietly along with Caspian asked.
If it was someone else in Lincoln's position they would have been surprised by Vincenzo's question but Lincoln wasn't. His two best friends wasn't exactly wired like him. Both of them were strong, powerful men who did what they wanted and went after what they wanted at will not considering anything else. They were both very smart men but with very very low EQ.
"You have to see things from Katherine's perspective. She isn't wrong. Katherine is not like other girls who would have felt flattered and important by the fact you are willing to do anything to others for her. She is a simple and kind woman who doesn't seek Validation from the misery or submission of others." Lincoln looked between his two friends to see if they were understanding him and he could see that they were listening, something that doesn't happen very much.
"You are used to going after what you want Caspian irrespective of any other factor. Even the circumstances surrounding your marriage with her is based on your own will. Seeing it happen again to others because of her must have greatly upset her. You have to understand Caspian that Katherine feels like one of your victims, you are a fate she couldn't escape from because she was too powerless. You should correct that before it's too late."
Caspian emptied his glass again. He knew that Lincoln was right. The idiot sometimes knew what he was talking about even if he sometimes doesn't listen to what he says. Unlike him, Lincoln was empathetic and he doesn't view it as a weakness or useless emotion like he does. But remembering the incident of last night made Caspian clench and unclench his fist.
He had hated the sight of tears in her eyes and the sound of her stifled sobs as she cried herself to sleep, he felt like punching something, mostly himself for the way he made her feel.An apology?
He didn't know how to go about that. He hasn't apologized to anyone since he was six or seven. Caspian didn't want her to look at him with that sad look on her face. He could deal with angry, she looks pretty when she gets angry and she had a calm and serene smile, but sad? He didn't want her sad, which was unexpected for Caspian as he had never cared about how anyone felt."How do I go about that?" Caspian asked quickly, not liking the embarrassing feeling that wanted to settle in.
"Go about what exactly?" Lincoln asked with a sly teasing smile on his face but the harsh look that was sent his way was enough to get him to start talking.
"Apologize sincerely and maybe give her a gift. Probably a small gift, it's the thought that really counts. " Lincoln slowly advised.
Lincoln could see that Caspian was genuinely taking notes of his advice silently, something that doesn't happen very frequently it was deemed impossible.
" And maybe a romantic gesture." Lincoln continued, not willing to end his supposed win. "Give her flowers, hire an orchestra, sing along to her favorite song while wearing a white suit with a rose between your lips, maybe do a dance number, preferably tap dance. Ohh! Or you can wear a bunny costume-"
