I'm not quite sure if it was my plan that worked but I doubt it. I was already back to work. There was not much to do really. Carolina had employed more workers and it wasn't am issue to supervise them as the older or more senior workers were taking them through it.
Getting to work, I spent most of my time in the kitchen, baking, cooking. It was way better than staying in my office doing nothing. This was satisfactory. Except the nauseating feeling I get whenever I'm handling eggs, everything else was pretty much perfect.
The Cafe has been more busy recently. Carolina's marketing ideas are always topnotch, she was trying to call more attention to our Cafe before we open our new branch. She's been pretty busy recently and it feels like a while since we talked or hung out. We were no longer living together and I was married and pregnant. Things has changed and it feels like we were living out own lives. I buried the feeling of worry that was starting to deep through my mind. I wasn't very worried. I and Carolina's friendship had gone through it's own rough patch, we'll survive this one too. I hope.

"I got it from here Katherine." Danny, one of the older bakers here said. I nodded my head accepting his help. I was happy because I was already tired of staying on my feet.

As I came out of the kitchen, Mara, a pretty young girl of asian decent smiled at me and gestured to my office upstairs.

"The rainbow girl is back." I smiled at her choice of words as I immediately understood what she meant by the giggly girl is back.

She was talking about Bianca. The first time Mara had met Bianca she had scrunched up her nose in distaste. Bianca's attitude, mode of dressing and her whole personality didn't appeal to Mara who had a more realistic view to life. Mara has been through a lot. She didn't believe in nice people or people with an overly optimistic attitude like Bianca.

"Hey B." I greeted the lady who was dressed in a colorful flowery gown that stopped at her mid thigh with purple heels, sitting elegantly on my couch.

"Hey sis. I had nothing to do so I decided to come check in on you."
Bianca checks in on me three to four times in a week out of the five week days. I suspected that she had no friends and with everything she could ever want within her grasp she didn't ever have to work.

"I'm almost done. Do you want to go for lunch together after I'm done with this paperwork?"

"Always." She said cheerfully.

The next fifteen to thirty minutes went with me signing some papers and checking some account and cross checking the paperwork that came heavily with the new branch we were working on.
A thought that had settled at the back of my mind began to sprut out again. I raised my head to see Bianca scrolling through her baby pink pouched latest phone.
He wasn't going to tell me and I'm curious.

"Bianca?" I called. That drew her attention away from her phone to me as she looked at me curiously with a smile on her face.

"Umm. Can you do me a favor?"

"Sure, what is it?" She said enthusiastically, more than ready to help.

"Do you know what happened with Dawn and her mother?"

The previously look on her face was gone and replaced with a nervous smile.

"Umm. I-i-i. Caspian-"

"He wouldn't tell me anything. And I need the know the truth." I asked pleadingly. I could see the look in her. She was having an ongoing battle with herself if she should tell me or not.

"Please." I pushed further and that seemed to break her resolve as she sighed and looked at me again.

"They're gone."
