The Impala is parked by the side of a road, overlooking a river. Dean, Jenn and Sam were leaning against a fence, drinking beer. A small smile was on Jenny's face as she watched the river lap at the shore, watching ducks float up and down the small waves.
"So. Last night. You want to tell me what the hell you were talking about?" Jenny looked to Sam with a small scowl, lowering the beer from her lips.
"What do you mean?"
"What do I mean? I mean you told us you were tired of the job. And that it wasn't just because of Dad." Dean turned away from Sam, shaking his head.
"Forget it."
"No, I can't. No way." Sam argued as Jenny groaned.
"Sam, seriously. Can't we enjoy one little beer without arguing?" She asked, turning to the young Winchester.
"Yeah, Come on man, I thought we were all going to die, you can't hold that over me. Jen sure isn't." Jenny held back a frown as Sam sighed.
"No, no, no, no. You can't pull that crap with me, man. You're talking."
"And what if I don't?" Dean asked, raising his brows.
"Then I guess I'll just have to keep asking until you do."
"You'll end up with a bullet between your eyes." Jenny joked as she turned away, sipping her beer.
"I don't know, man. I just think maybe we ought to . . . go to the Grand Canyon." Sam and Jenny frowned, looking at Dean.
"What?" They asked, turning to each other.
"Yeah, you know, all this driving back and forth across country, you know I've never been to the Grand Canyon? Or we could go to T.J. Or Hollywood, see if we can bang a celebrity." Dean joked as Jenny gave him a joking frown.
"You're not making any sense." Sam stated. Dean turned away again, huffing.
"I just think we should take a break from all this. Why do we gotta get stuck with all the responsibility, you know? Why can't we live life a little bit?"
"Why are you saying all this?" Sam asked as Dean looked at Jenny, who squinting as the sunlight hit her eyes to look back. Dean stayed quiet.
"No, no, no, no, Dean. You're my brother, all right? So whatever weight you're carrying, let me help a little bit." Dean shook his head as tears pricked at his eyes, Jenny frowning in confusion again.
"I can't. I promised."
"Who?" Sam wondered, looking at Jenny, who shook her head.
"Dad." The look in the two hunters faces softened.
"What are you talking about?"
Dean looked down, messing with the ring on his finger, sniffing. "Right before Dad died, he told me something." He took a sharp breath, turning to his brother. "He told me something about you."
"What? Dean, what did he tell you?" Sam pressed, and Dean stood up.
"He said that he wanted me to watch out for you, to take care of you." Sam scoffed, shrugging.
"He's told you that a million times." Dean shook his head, Sam and Jenny's confusion growingZ
"No, this time was different. He said that I had to... I had to save you."
"Save me? From what?" Sam asked, Jenny slowly standing up.
"He just said that I had to save you, that nothing else mattered; and that if I couldn't, I'd ..."
