He shrugged, a cheeky smile creeping onto his lips. "A repeat of last week, maybe?"

I raised an eyebrow and then gestured to my getup. "This turns you on?"

He chuckled, "What's hidden underneath turns me on... it's cute, though. Is this what you prefer to wear at night?"

"It's comfortable," I said, but it came out more defensive than I intended.

He raised his hands in surrender. "No judgments here. I'm just happy for the company. Come, let me show you where you'll stay." He offered his hand, which I accepted.

He tugged me off the sofa and intertwined our fingers as he led me toward the large double doors on our left. He pushed the doors open to reveal a large spacious bedroom lit with the natural rays of moonlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling arched windows.

I gazed around at the beautifully decorated room and pursed my lips. "This is your room, isn't it?"

He let go of my hands and stood there to watch me wander around on my own. My fingers lightly brushed the picture frame sitting on the nightstand. It looked like a young version of Remi, grinning brightly at the camera with the innocence of a child unshackled by their parents. I could tell that we'd both had completely different childhoods.

Did I ever smile like that back then? I couldn't even remember. All my memories blurred into a routine of blood and madness.

I hadn't noticed that I had stopped to gaze at the picture until Remi came up behind me. His hand came to rest on my own as his breath fanned my ear and sent shivers down my spine.

My heart became the center of my attention as it pulsed throughout my body. I could feel its beat in my throat, my palms, and the little pink pebble of nerves between my legs.

My back slightly arched as I felt him graze my ass from behind.

"This is my room. You'll stay here for the next six months. I'll assign a guard to you in the morning so you can roam the castle freely. I'd also love it if you'd inform me when you leave the castle... if you don't mind."

I pulled my hand away and turned around to meet his darkened gaze. "I don't... mind, I guess."

He probably wanted to monitor me, so I did nothing unexpected. Not that I planned to. The last thing I wanted was to draw attention to the human living in a werewolf palace. News traveled fast.

"That's good. I want to make you feel as comfortable and well-protected as possible. If the guard is too much for you, I'll have to follow you around myself," he joked.

I rolled my eyes. "Aren't you too busy to be monitoring little old me?"

An arm snaked around my waist, and he corrected me. "Not monitoring you, protecting you. You might be little, but your stamina is unmatched," he growled the last few words and tugged me into his chest.
