Previously...

I was about to draw my sword, but a pair of arms grabbed me from behind. "I don't think so, little lady." The raspy voice of the man said in my ear. My sword was taken away, and Soobin was forced to drink something, which made his eyes roll back and resulted in him slowly going limp. The same treatment was given to me and forced down my throat.

As I lost consciousness, I let out a small whimper, barely audible to even me.

"Taehyung...where are you?"

Y/N POV

Darkness was all I saw if I was even seeing it. Maybe it was just in my head...maybe I'm just sleeping in the hammock in The Singularity, dreaming of all this. But the voice in my head told me otherwise. It showed me the memories of my kidnapping, and how they dealt with Soobin. I couldn't look away, and his terrified face was engraved in my brain. His eyes held fear, but they weren't afraid of the men. They were fearful of what would happen to me.

I opened my eyes, yet nothing had changed. There was still darkness. I felt more like I was alive, feeling my rapid heartbeat and the sweat pooling down my back. I took a deep breath, or I tried to. My nose and mouth were covered with a cloth, muffling any noises that came out and making breathing much more complicated. I couldn't rely on my eyes or my nose. So I used my ears.

I heard the faint sound of dripping water and muffled footsteps. The footsteps were getting louder, so I quickly closed my eyes and pretended to be unconscious. A door burst open, and some scuffling sounds were heard with a lot of thrashing and voices. There was a final thud, the door closed again, and a lock was heard.

I was wary of the sound of breathing beside me and wondered if it was Soobin or some other prisoner.

"Bastard.." the man whispered. That was not Soobin.

"I know you're awake. You're breathing is too fast for someone unconscious." the man said. My breath hitched, exposing my cover. I slowly opened my eyes and tried to adjust to the darkness. I noticed a faint silhouette beside me.

"You don't have to worry. We're on the same side," he said. My brain tingled a bit. I recognize this voice...this accent...I've heard it sometime recently. My body was still recovering from whatever I was forced to drink so my brain was still a little slow.

I slowly turned toward the sound. I heard him chuckle softly. Then he shifted. I felt cold fingers touching my wrists and shivered at the sensation. They were ice cold. But my body was still numb and couldn't react.

"Don't move. I'm trying to remove your bindings." He said it so quietly I took a second to process what he was saying. I stayed still as he asked me to, gradually feeling the bonds loosen. Then they were free. I immediately removed the gag and took in a deep breath of the air.

Though it stinks in here, maybe the gag was better after all.

"Who are you?" was the first thing that came out of my mouth.

"You can't recognize me, mate?" the mystery man said. His words clicked something in me—the guy with the Eastern accent.

"Wait...you're....you're that guy from Sirenvale! The one who was talking to Captain RM! Your name was...um..." I stuttered. Yep, my brain was still two times slower than the usual speed.

"I'm Chris. And yes, I was discussing the Feather Alliance with your Leader. And because of that alliance, I risked my butt and came after you. Now would you mind untying my bonds? They're starting to itch." He explained. I quickly adhered to his words and moved. The numbness was starting to fade, so I clumsily untied the ropes. Chris rubbed his wrists as I removed the itchy material.
