Y/N POV
"Eyes up! Arms at shoulder height! Straighten your back!" Taehyung ordered in his deep voice. I adjusted as he told me to and started jabbing my sword in the air. I had to strike at a certain angle, and at a certain spot. It was quite difficult to do so as there was no target, just air.
"A little higher!" Taehyung yelled. I striked again, this time at the correct spot.
"Very good! Sword down." He said. I finally let my body relax as I breathed heavily. I bowed to my mentor and put the sword back in its cover.
"You are improving at a speedy rate. In no time, you'll be almost as good as me. Almost." Taehyung said with a smirk. I laughed a little at his comment.
"And if I get better than you? Will I be the new Swordmaster?" I asked. Taehyung laughed.
"I will never let that happen in the first place. So don't even think about it." He said. I just stared at him seriously for a minute. Then, we both burst out laughing.
"That's it for today. Make sure to get your aim right tomorrow." Taehyung said and started taking off his gloves.
"Yes, Swordmaster!" I said with a childish smile. Then I left the fenced area and went back to my cabin. I placed the sword in a corner of the room and sat on my bed with a sigh.
It's been about 3 days since the Mikrokosmos and the Black Swan had left the island to deal with the outpost. They had to not only destroy and abandon the outpost, but search for a different place to have a communication base. If not, everything will be delayed, and information would not be received at the right time.
I got up and changed into more comfortable clothes and decided to go see Hoseok at the docks.
I got out and was greeted by the salty sea air. It kind of made me think about Captain Jeon, and the first time when we sat on the sand and apologized to each other about the argument. It wasn't that long ago, but it felt like I had known him for years.
I inhaled the fresh air, and started trudging my way over to the opposite side of the island. Some of the villagers greeted me, and I returned their kind smiles and waves. My eyes brushed by the Main House entrance, where two pirates sat on the stairs and discussed something with a map. I really wanted to go inside, but there was a meeting going on with Captain Jin and his crew.
Then there was smoke and the smell of metal. The welding area was working just fine, with melting, burning, and forging metal, and preparing gun powder. I could also get a glimpse of the storage area, and even though I didn't wanna admit it, I sort of hoped to see Captain Park there. But of course couldn't, as he was busy.
Or so I thought.
I was just about to pass by the last hut when my eyes caught on something brown. Like....hair. I stopped in my tracks and leaned over to see better. Then, I saw Captain Park, leaning on a table with papers, with red marks all over. Probably keeping track of the trades. He picked up the papers and arranged them in order. Then he suddenly turned around.
His eyes met mine and we both just stood like statues while we stared at each other. I couldn't help it, I was drawn to his eyes from the moment I first saw them. I had been standing there like that for about 2 minutes, until someone bumped into me and shook me out of my trance.
Captain Park didn't move, but instead raised his eyebrows and silently walked off as if nothing happened. I shook my head to clear it out, and focused again on my actual destination.
I jogged toward the docks, and there were people going here and there, never standing still for a minute. I started skipping through the crowd, searching for where Hoseok could be. I heard his voice from my left, and started running in that direction.
