Y/N POV

"We're going to Greysand."

Those words made my heart stop for a quick second but also made me extremely happy. It's been more than 2 months since I left the island. Going back to where it all started made me both nervous and excited.

"It's for a mission, and we'll allow you to go back and tie up any loose ends. Also, say goodbye to anybody if you want since we won't be returning for a while after that." Captain RM said. I nodded enthusiastically.

I get to meet all the kids and the blind grandma. I get to tell her the good news that I have found a family and am leading a better life.

"When are we going?" I asked.

"This evening." I heard Taehyung say. "This time, we'll be taking my ship. For safety reasons."

"Alright. Should I pack anything?" I asked.

"Just your sword in case of emergency." He replied.

"And this trip has been planned very carefully so that there won't be a problem like the last time." Captain RM spoke. Taehyung sighed.

"We'll promise to stay alert this time." He said. Captain RM nodded.

"You should get your things ready now, so you won't have to do it in a hurry afterward." He said, and Taehyung and I left his office.

"Soobin will accompany us," Taehyung said. I nodded. It was Soobin's birthplace after all. He might want to see it again. I looked at Taehyung. He seemed a little...stressed? I know that he would be, after what happened last time, but it made me wonder.

It felt wrong, thinking of this after all they have done for me, but do they care for me? Or are they doing all this just so I can take over the position of my 'predecessor'? Whatever it may be, I need to keep a distance and do my best.

I don't want to be abandoned again.

TIME SKIP

"I know I should be excited, but I'm more nervous," Soobin said. I chuckled and ruffled his hair. He was all healed up in the past months with the help of the nurses. He would return to his post as the Head Guard of the recent outpost we built replacing the one in Ember in a few days.

"Well, you're not the only one," I said with a small laugh. Soobin gave me a small smile and offered his arm. I took it and we went through the crowd to where Taehyung's ship was moored.

Wow.

That was all that came to mind when I saw the ship in front of me. This was definitely not what I expected The Singularity to look like. I got the answer to why Taehyung always took The S.S. Serendipity on trading missions.

It looked....extravagant. The bow was lined with gold. As was almost the entire ship. The flags were so high up the sun's rays were blocked. But the most stand-out feature was the cannons that came out from both sides of the ship. There were so many.

The decks had barrels at the corners, some with gunpowder and some with guns. The lower deck was the biggest I had ever seen. Along with the Black Swan bowhead, the usual flag flew proudly, with Singularity printed on the bottom.

I certainly never expected the Singularity to be a War Ship.

No wonder Taehyung insisted on taking his ship for 'safety reasons'....this ship could destroy a whole English fleet just by itself.

"I expected this reaction from you," Soobin said with a chuckle. "Hyung never told you what his Captaincy actually represented, did he?" He asked. I shook my head.
