Y/N POV

"What do you mean you see a pirate Captain from The Blue Canary? Can they recognize us?" I asked. I could feel Taehyung's rapid pulse with how close we were standing.

"No, but I don't want to give them a chance to recognize us in the future if they see us by chance." He said. I waited until Taehyung saw the Captain leave and let me go. I tried to peer over and get a look at our enemy but Taehyung stopped me and shook his head.

"When the time comes, I'll let you know everything you want to know," he said. I sighed and nodded. "Get back to the ship. I'll be there shortly."

"Are you going to follow them?" I asked. Taehyung had an uneasy look on his face.

"This is one of our most secure Outposts. I'm not surprised to see the enemy at such a famous port but I am very much intrigued as to why someone with such a high title as Captain would be here. And that too, in all her rich glory." He said.

Her? A female pirate captain??

"She wouldn't be here...unless something here needs her attention." my mind raced as I processed that sentence.

"It could be that she's here to check on her business...her employees..." I trailed.

"Rat out a mole or...check in with a spy..." Taehyung suddenly snapped up.

"Quick! Go to the port and make sure our criminal stays put. I'll see what I can find." he said in a hushed whisper.

I nodded and we quickly rushed out of the net, going in opposite directions. I hastily walked to the port where a small boat waited to take me to the mother ship. Upon approaching the boat, my body froze as I saw the two guards passed out on the wooden floor and the criminal was nowhere to be found.

My heart raced as I put the pieces together. Immediately I searched the dock for clues. There were no ropes, which meant Harold had someone help him to take out the guards. I quickly threw the basket into the boat and placed my dagger in my hidden sheath.

I scanned the dock and tried to see where the nearest escape route could be. There was a small abandoned shop near the eastern end, but it was open. How careless, leaving such a secretive door wide open for others to find. I ran through the crowd and reached the shop, Indeed, the back door led to a ghostly corridor with nothing but a few empty wooden crates lying on the ground.

I quietly entered the corridor and followed it till the end where I reached a two-way path. I stood there, not knowing which path to take. I almost gave up when I happened to see a bit of rope on the right side. I examined it, and it proved to be the rope with which I disabled Harold. The color and quality were hard to miss.

Right beside it, in a pile of trash, I saw a white cloth. I picked it up cautiously and realized it was warm. I assumed this was the sedative used by the enemy to knock out the guards. I wonder if there really was a companion to help Harold escape. Pocketing it, my feet raced against the cobblestone path in an attempt to capture the escaped criminal before he met his master.

The end of the corridor was near, and I slowed down while quieting my breath. I tiptoed to the edge and the corridor spread into an opening. A small area in the middle of nowhere where the floor was cracked and the buildings crumbled. It looked like a very old part of the city, much before the recent renovation.

In the center, I saw the very man we had arrested barely half an hour ago. He was alone though, which meant he escaped on his own. How? His hands were tied up...

He reached into his shirt and pulled out a scroll. Oh crap! I didn't check his pockets before tying him up! But this place was quite far from the city center and it would take a fewminutes for the captain to reach. I waited, trying to quickly think of a plan to prevent the meeting.
