Chapter 28 - Misunderstanding

It was a Sunday morning, you and Togami were watching a murder mystery movie in your room.

"Pass the soda" you told Togami. But the boy kept his eyes glued to the TV screen.

"Sooodaaaa" you whisper-demanded in his ears.

Togami covered his ear in surprise.

"What the hell?" he glared at you.

"Pass the soda~" you pouted and Togami's glare softened as he handed you a can of soda.

"Thank you~" you said and kissed his cheek. You turned your attention to the television screen and sighed.

"What is it?" Togami asked.

"I don't get it" you said. "Can we watch something else? You probably already know the culprit, anyways"

Togami rolled his eyes. "Of course you don't get it, you've been on your phone the whole time"

"Have not!" you blushed and quickly turned off your phone.

Togami ignored you and continued to watch.

"Hold this" you handed him the soda can and got off from your bed.

"Where are you going?"

"Just getting some snacks~" you winked before exiting the room and closing the door behind you.

Togami rolled his eyes and continued to watch.

"Shit, he should have disposed the murder weapon" Togami mumbled to himself.

Suddenly, your phone buzzed and the screen lit up. Curiously, Togami took a peek.

His eyes widened when he read what was on the lit up screen.

Makoto: I've always loved you, I guess..

"What the hell?" Togami muttered, anger welling up inside him. "That little shit"

Togami grabbed your phone angrily, he wanted to see your conversation with Naegi.

But unfortunately, he didn't know your password.

He tried typing in your birthday.

Incorrect Password.

He tried typing in other things like your last name, your father's name, even his own name (arrogant much?)

Incorrect Password.

"Dammit! Togami threw a pillow across the room and sighed in frustration. "I need to start thinking like [your name]" he thought.

A small smirk formed on his lips as he typed in 'Password'. Surprisingly, it unlocked your phone.

"Tsk, baka" he rolled his eyes.

Just as he was about to check your texts--

"Byakuya?" you stood in the doorway. "What the hell are you doing? Why are you going through my phone?" you said angrily and snatched your phone from his hands.

"I don't know" Byakuya snapped. "Why don't you go and ask that freak with the stupid ahoge!"

"What--What are you talking about?" you asked in confusion.

"I know you've been texting ahoge-boy all day, nice to know that he loves you" he said coldly.

"Ahoge-boy? You mean Makoto?"

"Tch, whatever his name is" he crossed his arms.

"I can't believe you read my texts" you sighed in frustration. You unlocked your phone and opened up your conversation with Naegi. You tossed the phone to Togami.

Togami glared at you before scrolling down your phone:

Makoto: Hey [your name]-chan

You: Hey, Makoto!~ What's up?

Makoto: Can you help me with something?

You: Anything! What is it?

Makoto: You know who I like right?

You: Everybody does, Makoto. Everybody does..

Makoto: Do you think I should confess to Kirigiri-san..?

You: Depends actually.. What are you gonna say to her?

Makoto: I've always loved you, I guess..

Togami turned off your phone quickly.

"See? Nothing happened" you crosses your arms in an I-told-you-so manner.

"Should've said so earlier" Togami said and turned his face away.

"Dammit Byakuya.." you sighed and shook your head. You walked to your bed and covered yourself under your sheets. "Why won't you just admit that you're wrong?" you mumbled quietly.

It was almost impossible to hear, but Togami knew exactly what you said.

As you layed quietly on your side, under the thick sheets, you suddenly felt an arm wrapping itself around you.

You turned around and saw that Togami was laying right next to you.

"Sorry, [your name]-chan" he smiled apologetically and kissed your forehead. "It's my fault"

He hugged you tighter and you rested your head on his chest.

You don't know why but your eyes started to well up and you let out a small sniffle.

"What's wrong?" he asked. "Please don't cry.."

You tilted your head upwards to meet his gaze and gave him a peck on the lips.

"I love you" you smiled.

"I love you too, baka"
