Chapter 26 - Sweeter Than Candy

You were watching TV on Togami's bed, your head hanging upside down on the edge.

As for Togami, he was busy reading a thick novel on his desk with a cup of tea in his hands.

You clicked on the TV remote continuously, desperate to find a decent show to watch.

"Ah~ There's nothing to watch" you whined to yourself. You turned your head to Togami, hoping he would respond.

But he didn't. Of course.

"Hey, Byakuya--"

"Hungry?" he asked before you could even finish your sentence.

You smiled and giggled. "Yeah.." you nodded.

"Alright" he said and put down his novel on his desk. "What do you want to eat?"

"Candy!~" you announced happily and shot straight up.

"Candy? For lunch?" he asked with a disgusted face.

"Maybe" you said and stuck out your tongue. "Problem?"

He sighed. "Fine" he said and stood up. "I'll go tell the driver to start up the car"

He headed for the door. But when he passed you, you grabbed his arm.

"Wait" you said.

"What?"

"I- um- I was kinda hoping that we could just walk to the supermarket" you said with a blush on your face. You didn't want to admit that you just wanted to spend some time with him.

"Walk?" he asked. "What are you talking about?"

You looked down, preventing him to look at your crimson red cheeks. "I don't know, I just thought it would be nice, I guess"

He released your grip from his arm and shook his head. "Fine, but only this once" he mumbled. "Promise?"

"Yeah!~"

"And don't complain if your feet hurts" he warned.

"Psh, never" you rolled your eyes.

"Byakuyaaaa~" you called.

"What?" he stopped and turned to face you.

"Slow down, my feet hurt~" you whined.

"Unbelievable" Togami muttered under his breath.

Togami started to walk again, in seconds he was way ahead of you.

"Byakuyaaa~" you called again. You reached out your arms towards him and wiggled your fingers. "Wait up"

Togami stopped again and waited for you.

When you were finally standing next to the (really) tall male, you stopped to check you feet.

"Ah dangit" you sighed. "These new babies gave me blisters" you frowned at your shoes.

Suddenly, Togami crouched down.

"Get on, idiot" he said and gestured for you to ride on his back.

"Eh? Are you serious?" you asked.

"We wouldn't want you to get hurt now, do we?" he asked. "Hurry up"

"I don't know--"

"Just get on" he said impatiently.

You hesitated but finally hopped on his back nervously.

"Hold on" he ordered and stood up.

You placed your hands on his shoulder.

Togami scoffed and started to run.

"Wah! B-Byakuya! Byakuya stop!" you yelled.

He stopped and turned his head slightly to look at you. "Then hold on"

You blushed and wrapped your arms around his neck nervously.

"Jeez, why are you so shy?" he shook his head.

"Am not!" you defended yourself.

"Whatever you say, baka" he chuckled and started to walk.

On your way to the supermarket, you couldn't help but notice people staring.

You ducked your head down.

"What's wrong?" Togami asked.

"People are staring" you whispered.

"So? What's wrong with that?" He asked. "They're probably just jealous"

"Of?"

"Us"

"What do you mean 'us' ?"

"Us. You and me. [your name] and Byakuya" he said matter of factly. "But you don't have to worry anymore, look, we're here"

You hopped off and spread your arms. "That was way better than walking~"

Hearing your words, Togami blushed. You laughed at his cute reaction.

"Come on, Byakuya" you said and interwined your fingers with his. "Let's get some candy"
