Chapter 17 - Jealosy in the Ice Rink

You grunted in your bed as you suddenly felt a slight disturbance.

As you -halfheartedly- flickered your eyes open, a pair of blue eyes stared back at you.

"Good morning [your name]-chan!!~" Asahina yelled.

"GYAAA!--oof!" you backed away but ended up falling face first from your bed.

"I told you, you shouldn't stare at her like that" Sayaka sighed.

"How did you guys get in here?!" you got up and did a threatening pose.

"Your dad let us in~" Asahina explained. "He's so nice, [your name]-chan!"

"Oh.." you said and slumped back to your bed. "If you'll excuse me, I'll be going back to bed because you two had just interrupted me from winning a pie eating contest in dreamland.. So, good--um morning, I guess"

"[your name]-chan!! You can't go back to sleep!~" Asahina wailed and bounced up and down your bed, trying to wake you up.

"Go away" you swatted her away.

"We're going ice skating~" Sayaka said, trying to bribe you.

"Good for you, then" you simply replied.

"Eh? Don't you want to come?" she asked.

"Come on, [your name]-chan~" Asahina pleaded.

"For your information, I don't skate" you said and sat up. "So there is no way I'm doing this"

"I can't believe I'm doing this" you mumbled angrily.

Somehow, Sayaka and Asahina had literally dragged you off your bed, put warm clothes on you, and pushed you out of your house.

Both of them were now walking cheerfully, to the ice rink, with you sulking behind.

"Kirigiri-san!~" Asahina ran towards the purple haired detective.

"Good morning" she said.

"What are you doing?" Sayaka asked.

"I just got back from the library.." she said and showed a mystery novel she just borrowed. She looked behind Sayaka and saw you cursing under your breath. "Is she okay?"

"Huh? Oh, she's just mad because we dragged her out of bed and forced her to ice skate with us" Sayaka explained.

"Hey! You wanna come Kirigiri-san?" Asahina asked.

"Who's going to be there?" she asked back. "Just curious"

"Oh, um, well, there's Togami-kun, Leon, and Naegi-kun too~!"

Hearing Naegi's name, Kirigiri's eyes lit up just a tiny bit.

"Sure, I'll come" she said before quickly adding, "It's not like I have anything else to do"

"Yay! Let's go, then!~" Sayaka cheered.

"Hey guys! Sorry we're late~" Sayaka waved.

"Ah! Kirigiri-san!" Naegi smiled.

Kirigiri waved at the boy, and I swear to god you saw a tint of pink in her cheeks.

"Come on! Let's skate!" Asahina cheered.

After you guys um--er.. rented(?) the skates(?) [omg loser alert, I don't freaking know what it's called qwq] you all happily skated around the -not so- crowded ice rink.

Well, except for you. There is no way you're going to skate. No way, you hear me?

You had made yourself comfortable in the snack bar. And you ate potato chips as you miserably watched the others joke around.

You sighed and rested your chin on your hand.

"Hey, what are you doing?" someone snapped their finger in front of your face.

You looked up and saw Togami.

"I'm just--eating this bag of chips" you said and handed the bag to him. "You want some? Knock yourself out"

He handed you the bag back.

"I do not eat cheap food" he said and made a disgusted face. He waited for you to scold him, but you never did.

"Good for you" you replied.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked and knelt down to see your face.

"I'm just super bored" you said and blew away a strand of hair that had landed on your face.

"Why aren't you skating?" he asked.

"Be-Because I can't, okay?" you admitted.

"Why didn't you say so? Come, I'll teach you" he grabbed your hand and you blushed bright red.

As you entered the rink, you started to wobble.

"Bya-Byakuya! I don't think th-this is s-SAFE!" you yelled as you stumbled.

But Togami caught you.

"Hold on tight, baka" he said. "Now, just follow my lead"

Togami skated backwards as he watched you stumble every once in a while.

You grabbed his hands tighter, scared to lose your balance.

"Hey, Byakuya" you said, calming down a bit.

"What?"

"I don't think it's safe for you to skate backwards"

"Don't worry I'll be alri--" before he could finish his sentence he bumped into a girl, making her fall.

"Told you" you snickered.

Togami shot you a dirty look before holding out his hand to help the girl get to her feet.

"Forgive me, are you oka-- what are you doing here?" Togami snapped.

The girl Togami had bumped turned out to be no other than Touko Fukawa.

"B-Byakuya-sama! Ehehe~ Nice seeing you here--" she clambered to her feet and saw you holding hands with Togami. "--what are you d-d-doing here you--you w-wicked beast!"

"Eh?" you said and pointed to yourself. "Are you talking to me?"

"Get away from him!" she demanded.

"I-I--um.."

"Don't talk to her that way you peasant" Togami snapped.

"S-See?! Ever since that-that stupid beast showed up Byakuya-sama has been mean to me!" she stammered.

"It's my life, I do what I want" he said and brought you closer to him.

"Ah--I don't want to-to get involved in any of this.." you laughed nervously.

"Don't get too close to h-him" Fukawa said.

"Too bad" Togami said and kissed your forehead. You blushed crimson red.

"E-Eh.. I-I um"

"Let's go" Togami said and pulled you away.

You looked back as Fukawa slumped away sadly.

"That wasn't very nice" you said. "You kissed my forehead just to make her jealous! That poor girl.."

"At least you enjoyed it" he smirked.

"I-I did not!" you blushed.

"Suree" he rolled his eyes.

"And I thought I told you to be nicer to Fukawa-san"

"She just gets on my nerves sometimes" Togami shrugged.

You rolled your eyes as he helped you learn how to skate, laughing an joking every now and then.
