I must have blacked out from lack of blood because I remembered Amajiki stirring, and then waking up in the hospital.
My arm seemed to have been healed pretty well and I was less light headed than I was during my last recollection of the raid, leading me to believe a blood transfusion had taken place.
"You let her stay behind!?" I jumped at the sound of my mother screaming and tore the covers off of myself, bringing the pole with that carried the various things I was attached to with me as I went to the door.
"(M/n), we agreed that we'd put more faith in her..."
"When it comes to combat a normal highschooler could do! She's 15 (D/n), she should not have been taking on the Shei fucking Hassakai!" I opened the door and saw my mom holding dad by the collar of his uniform. "Oh, your awake. Are you ok?"
"Yeah um, wheres Tamaki? He looked pretty peat up last time I saw him and I just wanna make sure he's ok."
"Down the hall." Dad said and I walked off, glancing back at them.
My parents had never fought before. Of course there were times when they bickered lovingly like anyone whos been married for ten years might, but other than that if they were mad at each other it was the silent treatment for about an hour and then they talked their problems out.
This was the first time I'd heard my mom yelling at him, and it was my fault.
I walked into the hospital room at the end of the hall and Fatgum looked over, a grin on his face.
"Hey your alive! Amajiki here was worried about you."
"Y-you had lost a lot of blood..." He mumbled and I sat down, crosslegged in a chair and glancing over at Kirishima who looked like a mummy.
"You ok?"
"I'll be fine. You?" I shrugged,
"Tabe managed to take a good chunk out of my arm but it seems to be healing." I flinched suddenly as more yelling came from down the hall.
"Are those your parents?" Fatgum asked softly and I nodded.
"My mom's stress has been really high cause I've been getting hurt a lot lately, she's pregnant again, and I recently found out that- about a secret she's been keeping from me. I guess this kind of pushed her over the edge, my parents have never fought before."
"(L/n)." I looked over at Kirishima who was grinning, slightly sadly through his bandages. "My mom and step-mom argue at least once a month because their both so hot headed. But they always make up. The real red flag is when they argue and then pretend like everythings ok, as a kid of divorced parents I can vouch."
"Thank you. Also I'm sorry."
"Eh, its fine. My dad's kind of trash anyways." Kirishima's phone on his bedside table buzzed and I checked it since his arms were kind of incopasitated.
Pikachu: Dude is (Y/n) ok? She's not picking up her phone.
I realized that I must have my phone must be in my hospital room and looked over at Kirishima.
"Mind if I respond?"
"Go ahead."
I snapped a picture of Kirishima and myself and sent it.
Me: We lived bitch
Denki: OH THANK GOD NEVER SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN!
Me: No promises ;)
Denki: You bitch.
Me: I'm THE bitch honey.
I laughed and put Kirishima's phone back on his bedside table.
"I should go back to my room, mom & dad have probably told the doctors I'm awake. I left the room and saw mom & dad talking more calmly, Midoriya was a little further down, talking to All Might, both with tears in their eyes.
"Is everything ok?" I asked, pointing to the teacher and student duo and mom sighed, running her fingers through her already ruffled hair.
"Nighteye just passed away. Anyways, why are you even walking around, you should be resting." She snapped and I went into my room.
We'd won. Eri was safe, there were no civilian casualties, I assumed that for a high stakes raid these weren't the worst injuries anyone had seen.
But this hurt, maybe I'd only interacted with Nighteye a couple times when I was younger and then only in a professional manner recently but he had always been kind to me.
So yeah, we'd won.
But we also suffered a loss that made it feel inappropriate to celebrate just yet.
