I tapped my foot impatiently and checked my watch for the fifth time in two minutes.
"Where the hell is Midoryia!? He was supposed to be back like an hour ago."
"Probably ran into a villain or some shit..." Bakugo grumbled and I rolled my eyes
"Have some faith, it was more like two villains."
"Wanna bet?"
"10$."
"Ok, let's not bet on Deku's well being." Uraraka fretted and I leaned against the wall, glancing at my watch again.
"I'm sure he's fine. He may have just had to go to a different store." Almost on cue Midoryia burst through the door, panting like he'd been running.
"I'm so sorry for being late!"
"You're fine, let's go!" We all ran out onto the stage and quickly took our places. I quickly smoothed out my skirt and made sure my hair was out of my face as the curtain came up.
"Hey everyone, thanks for coming!"
The performance went amazing. People were dancing and smiling, the band was amazing, and I think best of all was catching the sight of Eri on Mirio's shoulders with a big grin on her face.
We finished cleaning up and headed over to the beauty pageant.
"I heard Kendo is gonna be in it." Denki said and I nodded, not trusting myself to say anything. Admiring someone's beauty and being attracted to them are two different things (Y/n). We're just going to support our peers.
I bit my tongue and crossed my arms. All the girls really were pretty. I knew Denki wasn't attracted to them but I still felt weird about us being here. Am I... jealous? Noo... it's not like I have sole claim on his attention.
"(Y/n), what's with that look on your face?" Denki was looking at me now and I realized how thinly my lips were pressed together. I felt like an angry Professor McGonagall.
"I'm fine. Just go back to watching all the pretty girls." His mouth twitched and he gave me a look.
"Are you jealous?"
"...No." He laughed and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Don't worry, you're always the most beautiful to me."
The pageant ended, we cast our votes, and went to explore the rest of the festival.
Class 2-A had crepes which we ate while quietly talking about how scary Mr Aizawa can be..
Class 1-C had a haunted house. I clung to Denki and he clung to Kirishima who clung to Bakugo and very nearly got blown up.
The support course's exhibition surprisingly didn't have any explosions given that Hatsumei was at the head of the team.
Overall it was just a lot of fun.
I said goodbye to Eri at the gate and then headed back to the dorms, exhaustion beginning to set in from the dancing and socializing. Everyone was still buzzing about the festival but I had one question on my mind.
"So Midoriya, why were you late?"
"Oh, I ran into these two criminals just outside of UA-"
"Bakugo, you owe me 10$!"
"Fuck you!"
Sorry for such a short chapter I've been sick and also high school has me burnt out. Hopefully when winter break comes around I will update with an actually good length chapter.
