I walked into my dad's agency and ran up to him, giving him a big hug.

"Hi dad!"

"Hey (n/n). How's the dorms?"

"There fine. I miss moms cooking though, Bakugo is pretty good but he over spices everything."

"I see. And how's Denki?"

"He's fine too."

"No news? I shouldn't be expecting to be a grandpa anytime soon?"

"I swear you are just as bad as mom!"

"I married her. Anyways I'll finish filling out this paperwork, you go change into your hero costume and I'll give you a short tour of the agency, then we'll go on patrol."

I followed after dad on the street as he went down his usual patrol route. It had been pretty quiet but I presumed with all the heroes walking around because of the league this was normal.

But I also have a habit of speaking too soon because the moment I finished my thought about how quiet everything was an explosion came from the bank.

"Too easy boys! Too eas- shit... I forgot this is Foliorum's patrol route." While the leader was bragging dad created vines from the ground and caught the group. One managed to get away and I chased after him.

"(Y- Monarch!"

"I got this Foliorum!" I backed the guy into a corner but he suddenly turned on me and a gunshot sounded out. A tiny red dart lodged its way into my shoulder and I puddle it out. A thin stream of blood flowed down my arm and I turned back to the robber. "What the hell was that?"

"Like I'd tell you hero!" I gritted my teeth and dashed forward, slamming the man against the wall.

"What was that!?" He stayed silent and suddenly a knife jabbed through my free hand.

"I'm so sick and tired of you heroes looking down on those without powers. Why not force you to take me down without yours!?"

"So that was a quirk erasing bullet?" I threw the guy to the ground, disarming him as I did and then stamping on his chest, knocking the wind out of him. "Its not gonna work on me. I'm quirkless as well." Vines came through the ground and the guy was tied down.

"(Y/n)! Ugh your moms gonna kill me... first day on patrol and you're already injured." I shrugged and looked at my hand.

"Its not that bad. Nothing Recovery Girl can't fix." I walked over to the dart I threw on the ground and picked it up. "He shot me with this, apparently its a quirk erasing bullet so we should give it to the police."

"A quirk erasing bullet? Whatever will you do!?" I laughed and rolled my eyes. Dad took care of the villain on the ground and I pulled bandaging out of my first aid kit to slow the bleeding on my hand. The pain was beginning to set in and if it weren't for the fact that there were younger kids passing by and/or asking for dad's autograph I'd be swearing like a sailor.

"Excuse me?" I looked up from my hand and saw an older man holding the hand of a little girl. "My granddaughter saw you running after the villain, she wanted to tell you something." The little girl was silent for a second before speaking very quickly.

"I think you are very brave! And I hope your hand will be ok."

"Aww thank you. And don't worry about my hand, I'm hero and that means I'm really strong."

"Whats your hero name?"

"I'm The Quirkless Hero; Monarch."

"Wow... Grandpa she took on the bad guy without a quirk! She's so strong!"

"That's amazing honey." He looked back to me. "Thank you so much, I hope your hand gets better soon."

"Thank you. Your granddaughter is really sweet." The man and his granddaughter walked away and I leaned against a building, taking a breath, a smile playing at my lips.

I'd done what people would call "playing hero" many times when I was younger. I'd hand over a few coins, help someone load groceries into their car, fight off a bully. Younger kids often didn't care about your powers, they were just happy you helped them. But it was rare an adult would offer the same courtesy when they learned I was quirkless, they would sneer or offer pity.

This was the one of the few times an adult didn't seem to care about my power or lack of thereof.

I walked into the dorms that night and Uraraka ran up to me,

"We saw the news are you ok!?"

"Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine, the hospital bandaged fixed up my hand pretty well and Recovery Girl said she would fully heal it tomorrow."

"That's good to hear." Denki wrapped his arm around my shoulder and kissed my cheek.

"Nope, too cute I'm dead." Mina pretended to fall over and I laughed.

Yep, things here are just fine.
