We took his car to the theater. Walking inside, we got in line to purchase the tickets. The place was pretty much empty, a few stragglers here and there. We got our tickets and decided to get some popcorn to share, and two sodas. The cashier rang us up, handed us our stuff and as he looked up from his screen, a huge smile washed over his face.

"Hey, you're Dan from Game Grumps aren't you? I'm a big fan of the channel."

I smiled at Dan as he looked at the cashier, nodding.

"I am. Thanks man, I appreciate it." He handed him the card.

"Yeah, no problem. Enjoy the movie!"

I nodded to him as Dan took his card back. We walked down the hall toward our theater.

"Does that happen a lot around here?" I smiled, looking at him in the dimly lit hallway as we walked.

"Nah, not so much anymore. There's so many.. not celebrities, because I don't want to call myself that.. but social influencers around here, that it becomes the norm. Still sweet when it happens though."

"I bet so."

He returned my smile with one of his own before putting his arm around my side and pulling me closer. I gasped, surprised by his quick motion.

"Sorry." He mumbled to the small group of people squeezing past.

I tried not to laugh as they walked by. "I didn't even see them there."

"I swear they came out of no where." He chuckled.

We continued walking, but he left his arm around me until we got to our seats. I dared not say anything about it, not wanting to spook him.

When we got to our seats, we sat down and got situated. It didn't start for a few minutes, so we just scrolled on our phones until then.

The theater was pretty empty, a few people were behind us in random spots, more people in front. We didn't get seats too close, so that we didn't have to strain our necks.

The movie was pretty good. Not the best, but it gave me an excuse to spend more time with Dan. About half way through, there was an unexpected jump scare, which definitely got me more than him. Without hesitation, he took my hand, fingers laced tightly around mine, and rubbed the top of my hand with his thumb.

In that moment, I could have kissed him.. but I didn't. I didn't react at all, just continuing to stare at the screen. I could feel him looking at me, but I didn't dare return his look.

Stretching his left arm over to occasionally get popcorn, even though it had to be uncomfortable, he never let go of my hand for the second half of the movie. He only let it go once the credits rolled.

"Think there's a after credits scene?" He said in a hopeful tone.

"Nah, probably not. Marvel and DC are known for that."

"Wanna stay and see?"

"Sure."

Sadly, there was not. We disappointingly got up and walked out the theater, throwing our trash away.

"So, what'd you think?" I asked him once we got outside.

"Pretty good. It's loosely based on the books, but a seperate thing all together. Kinda like something you could watch if you haven't read the books, and you wouldn't miss much."

"Yeah, I wasn't too lost. It was a good pick."

"Thanks."

We drove back to my place in silence. The time was coming, and I couldn't find the words to say.
