The oven finally beeped after what admittedly felt like hours, and Arin put the cookies in. I set a timer on my phone, and we all sat at the island.

"Oh! I completely forgot to tell you guys, I ran into a Lovely today!"

"That's awesome. What did they say?" Arin said excitedly.

I took a sip of my drink. "Hmm. First, he came up to me to tell me he liked my sweatshirt, so I told him thanks, and that NSP is one of my favorite bands. So, he asked me if I'd ever seen them live."

I smiled, reminiscing on those years ago. They glanced at eachother with a knowing smile.

"So I told him I have, and how sweet Dan is. He told me he saw them last summer for their acoustic tour, and even though VIP was slam full, Dan made sure he talked to every single person there. So, obviously, I had to ask if he was a fan of Game Grumps too, and he said he's been a fan of Game Grumps since way back, even before listening to NSP. It was really cool honestly."

"That's so fucking cool. I love hearing those stories."

"It's really awesome." Suzy said as she put her hand on Arin's shoulder.

"It's crazy to think like, that's our job and everything, but we love making people laugh. Forget about the shitty day. Even if it's just for a few minutes, and enjoy our content."

"Oh definitely. I know it did for me for years." I finished off my drink.

"Need a refill?" She pointed to my empty cup.

I looked inside it, contemplating.

"Yeah, fuck it. Why not?"

She made me another drink, and made one for herself.

"Appreciate it." I said as I held up my cup. "Cheers."

She bumped her cup with mine, and we both took a sip.

A few minutes of chatting later, the timer on my phone went off.

"Fucking finally!" He threw his hands up. "Jesus, I just wanted some damn cookies."

I laughed as he grabbed the oven mitts, putting them on.

"I could have just picked up pre-made cookies from the bakery."

"Ew no, these are so much better." He opened the oven, the smell of the fresh baked cookies filling the kitchen.

"Ya know what would've been even better?"

"What's that?" Suzy said.

"Homemade cookies."

"Ooooh, yeeeaaah. Oh well, definitely next time." Arin sat the cookie sheet on the stove, closing the oven door and turning it off.

He tired to pick one up, and immediately threw it back down. "Ow, fuck! That's hot!"

"No shit, Arin. Be careful!"

"I wasn't thinking! I just saw cookie and wanted to try one."

"You gotta wait, at least like 20 minutes for them to cool. Now I see why homemade wasn't a good idea. You'd try to lick the spoon!"

"Yeah? What's wrong with that?"

Suzy and I looked at eachother, shaking our heads.

"What?"

"It's a miracle you haven't accidently killed yourself yet."

"Nah, I'm built different."

I snickered, taking a sip of my drink. Suzy smiled a knowing smile.

"Do you have any plans for Thanksgiving this year?" Suzie asked.

I sighed, knowing my family wouldn't care to see me.

"No.. my parents and I don't exactly see eye to eye. I haven't been back home since I moved out here a few years ago. Then when I left, I just couch hopped for a long time, then got a small place, then came back here."

"Well, you're more than welcome to join us on Thanksgiving. I know Dan isn't coming back in time, but we're having a Friendsgiving the day before."

"Who's gonna be there?"

Arin spoke up. "Ross, Barry, Allie, and maybe Brian, but.. probably not.. now that I think about it, and.. a couple of our friends too."

"I'll think about it. I really don't want to impose."

Suzy put her hand on my back."El, you're pretty much family at this point."

I don't know if it was the alcohol, her kind gesture, or the fact that she called me El, but my eyes immediately started to water.

"Oh, Ellie! I'm so sorry! Was it something I said? Please don't cry! Oh no!"

"Suzy, Suzy, I'm okay! I promise. You didn't do anything wrong! It was just such a sweet gesture, and I appreciate it so fucking much. You have no idea. It's those little sentiments that mean so much, and to hear I have family again.." My voice broke. A few tears escaped, but I wiped them with my sleeve, laughing.

She was also tearing up, probably feeling terrible for making me cry, slightly panicking.

After a few seconds of her staring at me, she gave me the biggest hug I've ever gotten from someone. She squeezed almost too hard, as if she was trying to hug my pieces back together. I hugged her back, laughing a little.

We took a minute to gather ourselves, wiping our eyes, and I checked her makeup.

This entire time, Arin is sitting at the island, resting the bottom of his chin on his hand.

I looked over at him, and he smiled a warm smile.

"We love you like family and.. Dan loves you too.. you know." His tone became hushed, as if someone told him not to say it, but he couldn't hold it back.

I just looked at him, smiling a sad smile. "I find that hard to believe." My last words came out in a whisper, like all the air escaped at once. "I mean, I want to believe it, but I also don't want to get my hopes up. I'm just kinda.. going with the flow."

"I just thought you should know, if you didn't already. He's my best friend, and I know when he has feelings for someone. He gets all giddy and smiley when he talks about you, and recently he's been talking about how much he misses all of us, including you."

I looked down at the floor, smiling. "That's honestly so sweet. I.. I love him too, with my whole heart. I missed all of you so much. I don't want to get too cheesy and emotional, tonight's supposed to be fun!"

Arin chuckled, getting up to check the cookies. "They're finally cool enough!"

He took one, and sat back down. Suzy took two, handing one to me.

I heard him let out a groan. "Oh my God these are good."

"Never go name brand." I added.

They were pretty decent, still a little warm, the chocolate chips still melted. The edges were crispy, but the inside was soft.

"Good job, Arin. This is what happens when you follow instructions."

"I do! Sometimes.."

Suzy laughed, popping the last piece in her mouth.

She made me another drink, before getting herself a glass of milk. Arin followed behind.

"I hope that's lactose free."

Arin laughed. "Don't worry, it is."
