I quickly showered, brushed my teeth, and climbed into bed.  My phone vibrated across the room. I debated on not getting up, but I was concerned it was Arin or Dan.

Dragging myself back out of bed, I checked my phone.

It was Dan.

"Made it home"

"Good"

"Get some sleep"

"Okay, Dad. Don't start."

"It's Daddy. You know this. Get it right."

I sent back a few laughing crying emojis, and put my phone down to charge. I crawled back in bed, not stressing to set an alarm, and immediately passed out.

When I woke up in the morning, around 10 a.m., I had 2 missed calls from Arin, and 3 from Dan.

I called Arin back.

"Hey, sorry. The guy was at our building early this morning. We decided to drive past, and call the cops. According to Tucker, about 20 minutes later, the cops pulled in, talked to him, and apparently he was taken in handcuffs."

"Oh thank God. I was so fucking scared seeing those missed calls. Jesus, my heart."

He chuckled a little. "Don't worry. Everyone's okay. Still take the day off though. I'll send you yesterday's footage."

"Okay. I appreciate it. Tell Dan I said hi."

"Hey Ellie!"

"Well, were about to get started. Text ya later."

"Okay, bye." I hung up, and started on coffee and breakfast. I ended up making pancakes and eggs.

Pouring my coffee, I realized I was out of creamer. "Fucking dammit." I said out loud, opening the fridge, hoping I had milk. I did, but it was past date. Opening it to smell it, it smelled fine. I decided to risk it, for the sake of drinkable coffee. Carrying my food and coffee to the couch, I sat them on the table.

I pulled out my laptop and turned it on. Pulling up my email, I waited for Arin to send over the footage as I ate.

After about an hour of refreshing, he finally sent it. By that point, I had finished my food and was on my second cup of coffee.

I got to work editing yesterday's footage. Since I missed all of it, I watched every minute. This one seemed to need a bit more editing than usual. More dead air, a few times where Arin would specifically tell me to cut something out, more pink and blue tabs to add, but I didn't mind.

One part in particular made me freeze.

"Speaking of shrooms, our editor is so fucking funny. Hold on, let me pull this up.."

"Okay.. Fuck! Not again!" Arin screamed, presumably at the game.

I paused the video. This could not be happening again. The fandom is literally gonna rip me to shreds. I'm going to be completely obliterated in the comments. I realize why Arin doesn't read them.

Dan including me in their content tells me that he trusts my character enough to let the viewers in. That means the world to me.

I hit play, and sat back.

"Oh, good job Arin. So, she's been working really hard these past few days, and I texted her in between episodes to see how she's holding up."

"Right."

"So I told her 'don't burn yourself out, Lovebug.' Her response? 'I don't identity as a bug, I identify as a fungi, thank you very much'". He was giggling his way through the sentence by the second half, Arin following suit.
