I grab the books out of my locker before slamming it shut, I close it with such force it was deafening. It had officially been a week since I came back to school, and each day was progressively getting worse.

The rumour mill was in full force, I had two people ask me on Friday, if it was true, that I tried to run over one of my old friends because they had a thing for Kyle. I've also been told that I'm a notorious cheater and I've broke Kyle's heart.

Please cue the next joke.

'Still feisty.' A voice says from behind me.

I tense, 'Not in the mood Kyle.'

His hands grab my shoulders turning me around, terror fills my chest, my palms sweat intensely, I push him away roughly.

'Come on, babe. Can't we just move past this?'

I clench my jaw, tears burning the corner of my eyes, 'M-Move past this? Are you fucking joking me?'

'It's been months. Just let it go.'

Anger bubbles within me, perhaps more rage than I've felt in my entire life. Let it go? He ruined my entire life, he's the reason I can't eat or sleep. The reason I have night terrors. And he's completely fucking unphased.

I raise my fist before connecting into his jaw, 'H-How fucking dare you?!'

'Autumn Martin!' A sharp voice says.

Fuck.

Oh fucking fuck.

I turn around with a slightly sheepish smile, 'Mrs. Moore, how are you?'

'I'm heavily disappointed Autumn, you've only been back at school for a week, and I witness this. You are lucky, I'm not considering suspension, I understand that this must be an adjustment for you, but violence isn't the answer. Detention for the rest of the week.'

'B-But-'

'Detention and that's final, don't make me reconsider not giving you a suspension.'

I nod as I clench my jaw, 'O-Okay.'

'I also think it would be best for you to see the guidance counsellor. In-fact, I'm making it mandatory that you do.'

How the fuck is this fair?

It's not fair that he gets to waltz around the place, tormenting me, making me feel unsafe. And the one time I react, I'm punished.

'...Fine.'

'So disappointed, Autumn.'

I nod as I hang my head low, the word disappointment stings me in a different way, perhaps that's because that was the last thing my dad ever told me before he left, he told me what a huge disappointment, I turned out to be.

I try my best to block out the rest of the afternoon, it was surprisingly easy. I feel like a zombie, just like I'm walking without any emotion or feeling. I let out a shaky breath as I rest my hand on the classroom door handle, behind this door was going to be a painful hour spent in silence, as I pretend to catch up on homework.

The smell of stale smoke makes my nose wrinkle, I turn my head to see Lucas stood there looking at me with a confused expression.

'What's up princess, does your butler usually open the door for you? Do you not know how to do it yourself?'

I narrow my eyes at him, 'I know how to open a door dumbass.'

'Then open it.'

'Give me a minuet.'

A smirk tugs on his lips, 'Aw, are you scared? Is this the first time you've landed yourself in detention?'

'I want you to know, that I got put in here for punching someone. I won't hesitate to do the same to you.'
