I fiddle with the hem of my jumper, to be honest, today was an unusually hot day for November. So, my jumper was borderline suffocating me in a sleek of sweat. But I was meeting up with my, I still wasn't ready to call them friends exactly, but I've become accustomed to their company and most of the time, I didn't mind it. And my arm still has cigarette burns on it, I mean there's a chance it probably always will, but I've been doing everything I can to try and soothe and get the burn to fade.

There's a knock on my door before it swings open, my mom is eyeing me up and down with distaste, a glass of wine in her hand.

'Autumn, what have you done to your hair?'

I shrug, 'I prefer it shorter, and I've had a lot of compliments on the colour.'

'The colour isn't the problem, in-fact I think it suits you just fine. It's the length, what did I tell you about men wanting, women with longer hair.'

I stiffen at her words, 'Exactly, d-do you even remember what happened to me?'

She shakes her head, 'I'm not doing this with you now, Autumn.'

'Doing what?'

'Having these types of conversations, they're draining.'

I nod slowly as tears prickle the corner of my eyes, my entire life has been destroyed, my future uncertain, every-day I wake up and it's as if I'm living a nightmare, that I can't escape from. And now my mom found it too draining to talk with me about.

Maybe she's the reason, I'm such a nasty bitch.

I mean, you end up morphing into your parents at some point, right?

My phone vibrates in my pocket, I pull it out and see that it's Scarlett telling me, that they're outside.

'I'm leaving now.' I mutter as I grab my black handbag before shoving past her and going downstairs.

I try and compose myself slightly before going outside, once I'm outside my eyebrows furrow at the car, I didn't recognise sat in my driveway. Logically, I knew it must be Sammy or Toby's car, but I couldn't help the panic invade by body at the thought of him, finding me.

Scarlett's head pokes out of the passenger's window, 'Hurry up Autie! We've got hot shirtless men to see!'

I laugh at her words before shaking my head, and climbing into the back of the car, I felt a slight relief when I saw it was Lucas in the middle despite, him having the largest frame out of the boys. I haven't really spent any time with Toby, so the thought of our legs accidentally bumping panicked me, I mean fuck it still panicked me at the thought of Lucas and I, touching, it was just less intense.

I raise an eyebrow at him as I put my seatbelt on, 'How did you end up in the middle?'

He lets out an annoyed sigh, 'Sammy, basically worships the ground Scarlett walks on, so she got the passenger's seat, and Toby then wanted to smoke out of the window, and now your annoying ass has joined the car, so I've had to slide over. And now I'm squashed between two idiots'

I smile slightly at his annoyance, 'Aw you poor princess, how will you cope?'

'Don't call me princess.'

'Then don't call me princess.'

He shrugs, 'I would agree to that, but I've already told people I will call you that for as long as your annoying ass is in my life, and I gave them my word, so.'

I look up at him with amusement, despite him sitting down he's still towering over me, 'And who were these people?'

'It's top secret, I'm afraid. We did a blood pact and everything.'
