Apparently, Lucas' date went extremely well. And I was fucking thrilled for him, I didn't want to both burst into tears or punch someone, at all.

They've been practically joint at the hip ever since; we've barely seen him the past two weeks. And it was a lot shittier then I thought it would be. I actually missed being able to tease and poke fun at him, it wasn't the same when he wasn't around.

And we were all beginning to notice.

I sigh loudly as I rest my head into the palm of my hand, Toby looks up from his sandwich with a frown on his face.

'Why so glum chum?'

'I'm bored.'

'Well, that's offensive, I offered to burp you the alphabet.'

I make a face, 'I'm never going to take you up on that offer.'

He shrugs, 'Your loss.'

Sammy laughs slightly, 'I think we all know, what's up with you.'

'Agreed.'

I roll my eyes, 'Please Sherlock and Waston, inform me.'

Toby furrows his eyebrows together, 'Before we answer, which one of us is Sherlock?'

'Me, obviously!'

'Dude no offence, but I feel like I'm more of the main character.'

'So, I'm the side character?'

'Exactly.'

'That is not correct.'

The blond-haired boy scoffs, 'I'm literally the lead in the school play, the proof is in the pudding.'

Sammy shakes his head at the boy next to him before turning his attention to me, 'Anyway, we all know that you are missing Luke.'

I scoff, 'I'm not missing Luke, that is ridiculous! I barely tolerate him half of the time!'

Toby shovels chips into his mouth, 'You aren't a very good liar.'

'I'm not lying!'

'Yeah, you're a pretty shitty liar.'

I grit my teeth, 'I don't miss him at all! He ditched us for his pretty new girlfriend, and I couldn't care less.'

'Autumn, I have to ask.'

'Go on.'

'Do you hear how weird your voice gets when you lie?'

My fists clench tightly, 'You two are so fucking annoying, I honestly couldn't give less of a shit.'

'Whatever you need to tell yourself.'

I look around the cafeteria in the hopes of seeing pink curls, 'Where's Scarlett? Maybe she can save me from this conversation.'

'She's in her costume fitting for the play, you guys are coming right?'

I look at Sammy's face, hope springs inside of me when he smiles instead of looking distraught, he nods eagerly.

'I wouldn't miss it buddy.'

Toby grins at him, 'Thanks man, are you bringing your new friend with you?'

I perk up, 'New friend?'

Sammy's cheeks flush bright pink, 'Y-Yeah, you remember the person we met at the club, the other night.'

I raise an eyebrow, 'The bartender?'

'T-That's the one.'

Toby pats him on the back, 'I can't wait to meet who is making you so happy.'
